    The bracket trick only works if you don't use BBCode inside of it. Along with other stuff but that was the mistake here.

    The brackets being too far away or being on different lines I know off hand. IIRC it also isn't find of the entire post being in brackets bit that might just be from the too far away rule. You are just tricking the preview into thinking that it is BBCode.
