Lucky for me it'll be much easier to get a license in Texas. Although I'd still probably take a class or two, since it really helps your car insurance when you have more classes under your belt(No, seriously, the more driving classes you take the less you pay for your car. I know someone who was paying $400 at first, and after 3 classes it went down to about $160 or so)

 

Getting a license in Maryland is like trying getting a 2400 on the SAT's.

Seriously, you have to take at least 4 weeks of Driver's Ed lessons and pass all of the tests with at least an 80%. Then you have to pass another test at the MVA to get your permit (getting at least 17/20). Then you have to practice driving with your parents for at least 60 hours with a permit for at least 6 months. Then you take the official test to get your license at the MVA.

I'm sure there are ways to sort of bypass some of the requirements, but by god, it's so overwhelming to even get a permit.

 

that's all skill i'm telling you take my advice if you want come to new york i'll teach you how to drive like a man and not resort to public transportation

well not like a man but at least i'll show you how to drive without noticing the lines on the street

 

But public transit is so much cheaper!

In terms of number of accidents, Maryland has like the second worst drivers in the US.

Really? I've heard of that statistic. I mean, I guess where I live it might not seem that way. But still, if that's true, I guess having all these precautions isn't working as well as it should. :x
