Yeah, it's cool. Had it for about three years now.

It's a pretty good console, I think at the start of its life given its late start the xbox was vastly superior than it in pretty much every way.

But now the years have pressed on and both are on par with each other, I feel the range of single player exclusives the ps3 have along with its region free capacities make it a better single player console, but the xbox's good online interaction system(other than having to pay for the year, but it's really not that bad if you use it pretty much every day) makes it a better online console.

Ps3 is still pretty fun, I only use mine for exclusives though.

Well, I think partially, the superiority of the Xbox had to do with the price. It was sooo much cheaper than a Playstation 3. I was surprised Sony was even able to recover, considering what happened with the Virtual Boy. That is some business magic.

And the exclusives are the only reason to own a PS3. They are just too good. I don't think the Xbox quite meets up to it. Sure, there are some fantastic exclusives (ex: Blue Dragon), but those are single player ones that should have appeared on the Playstation because that's where the market is for those sorts of games. They flunked on the Xbox. aswditf

Long story short, the Playstation 3 is my personal favorite and I wish they would drop in price more so I can finally buy one.

Not when the PS3 was first launched. That shit cost like $700.

I believe it was the best console ever made. That, and Sony needed to make some profit out of it, which is why they had such elevated prices.

If that's the case, the price wouldn't have dropped.

It was expensive because they over-priced their console, especially because it used blu-ray, which was really new at the time, and thus, very expensive. A Blu-Ray player on it's own was about around the PS3 price range (correct me if I'm wrong), but it damged their sales because it was beyond the price range of the traditional video game consumer.

That and it being months behind the Xbox on release date certainly didn't help its cause when it was more expensive than it.

True enough. They put the bluray inside the ps3, but they did overprice the ps3 a little bit. As I said, it was as a means to regain the cost it took to mass produce the PS3.
