Yeah, Sora's stronger than the three of them, but he lacks skill, which he should get by 3D >_>

The Armor just protects from the "free" Darkness in the Lanes in-between, which are those counterparts of Dark Corridors you're speaking off, and they use everytime they go from world to world.
And the journal says Terra used a corridor to those Lanes with Ven, not a Dark Corridor.

    Point is, Sora has much to learn. >.>;

As Ienzo said, I was referring to the time Terra used it to rescue Ven, and I believe Ven did the same thing, too. Like, right after. And it wasn't a Dark Corridor cause it was all bright and light and stuff. :3"

It seems like its a fair bit of informed ability though. I look at the Mark of Mastery exam at the beginning of BBS, and my first thought is, "Sora could do this in his sleep". TAV didn't demonstrate anything Sora couldn't himself.

The Lanes Between is the area the Gummi Ships/Keyblade Gliders fly in, isn't it? But what Terra opened up was a portal straight to Destiny Islands, IIRC.

Like Eraqus said, that is only a test of heart, it's like he sees how you react to the situation rather than how you handle it.

    I thought that too.
But the journal said that, and i rather believe it than make my own theories.

    ...

I think i remember somewhere(Might be just someone on a forum though, not an interview) saying they work like Dark Corridors rather than just saying they're similar, so maybe if you don't do anything there you end on the other side, sorta like how Sora didn't and got to Traverse Town?

well I'm pretty sure the Lanes Between is just intersteller soup that the worlds float in which contain freefloating darkness. and so TAV essentially just open rifts in space that allow them to bypass the barriers around the worlds. Sora and Riku can likely learn this technique along with Keyblade Gliders from Yen Sid. they probably wont since CoD and Gummi Ships make these abilities redundant and unnecissary which is probably why Mickey doesn't use them either.
Sora and Riku never officially trained under an actual Keyblade Master like TAV and Mickey have and so there are certainly things that they can still learn. afterall the point where Sora and Riku can learn nothing more and cannot get stronger will mean an end to the series.

Or...it could be gameplay purposes. Think about it, if you had all these epic moves at the beginning, wouldn't it just, I dunno, wreck the whole point of developing the characters unless Nomura wanted to show that TAV were stronger than Sora, which is wrong because Sora has a FAR stronger heart...or as strong as Ven's.

Well, true, but Dark Corridors (CoD is Dark Corridor/Corridor of Darkness...right?) corrupt the heart from what I've heard, which is why only people with dark hearts and Nobodies can use them, the latter because they don't have hearts to begin with. And while they just might NOT give Sora armor or a Keyblade Glider because of the Gummi Ship, I doubt Mickey will just keep letting them take the Gummi Ship...or make Donald and Goofy continuously drive it there. At some point, Sora's gonna need his own means of transportation... I mean, think how Donald and Goofy feel. :c

Firstly, I haven't seen any real proof to show that Sora is in any way stronger than at least Terra. Whether or not Terra truly is stronger than Aqua is rather debatable but so far Terra has shown the most impressive battles in the series so far. Unlike Sora who needed the help of his friends for both fights against Xehanort's Heartless and Nobody, Terra fought Xehanort and Vanitas by himself without showing any signs of tiring afterwards. Although it didn't look like he did much to the other side, he held his own. Then later he went on to beat down Xehanort. If that wasn't enough he then defeated "Terranort" effortlessly with sheer force of will. Don't forget that he had also defeated Eraqus(by himself once again), a Keyblade Master who had been around for many years, had a great deal of experience, and didn't even seem to be holding back against Terra.

When compared to Sora...I can't really think of many things he did that were too impressive. Against Ansem SoD he had Donald and Goofy at his side as well as the ability of flight(I always found that a little funny in that last battle). Against Xemnas, he had Riku at his side who was about the same strength of Sora so essentially it'd be like having two Soras to beat down one Xemnas. Even in that fight both Sora and Riku got injured, moreso Riku who needed help walking afterwards. Anyone could argue that Xemnas is stronger than "Terranort" but that fact is easily dismissed as Sora never defeated him on his own.

Lastly...about that transportation issue...I don't think Sora's going to be getting armor anytime soon. He travels with Donald and Goofy, it's been that trio since the beginning and it wouldn't make sense to try and seperate Sora from them just so he could have his own means of transportation. Maybe Yen Sid could give Sora that star-thingy that Mickey had in Birth By Sleep. <<

Sora DID beat Xemnas on his own, at least at one point. When Sora was transported to Memory's Skyscraper, where Sora owned him without a problem.

Xemnas wasn't beaten after that battle, I saw the cutscene after that fight and Xemnas was back up like nothing happened. Hell, Sora was even beaten by Roxas when he fought him. Sora was overpowered and disarmed by Roxas. The only reason he won that fight was because he got in a cheap shot when he caught Roxas off guard. So basically, Sora has yet to really do much on his own. Maybe he'll get that chance in a future game.

But of course, it breaks the major theme of the series for anybody to try and do anything on their own, or even with people they're not friends with, so don't cross your fingers just yet.

Guys, please try to stay on topic. The subject is discussing whether or not Terra can be considered a master, and while I can understand that it can overlap over the issue of who's strongest, please try to be consistent by stating how it ties in with the topic of the thread.

Anyhow, I honestly believe Terra has the skill level of a master. However, he doesn't have the title. We don't know how exactly the title affects a keyblade wielder's ability, but we know that Terra was able to pass on his keyblade to Riku. This could be attributed to the whole skill vs. power thing. Terra was probably better predisposed to battle and wielding the keyblade, which makes him seem stronger than the others and even holding his own against two Keyblade wielders.

However, I believe that the Mark of Mastery is a test to impart knowledge and maybe some skills that haven't been shown yet, as others said before.

So, does Terra have the power to become a Master? Possibly. But that alone doesn't make him suitable for it. Aqua still holds her discipline over him, and that means that while she may not be the best fighter, she is the best Keyblade wielder of the two.

Do you guys honestly think there isn't more to this than swinging a giant key around? The implication is that there's an entire school of thought built around this particular practice, and one must understand every single piece of it, as well as how they all come together, before one can be considered a Master. In that light, no, Terra is not a Master, not because he hasn't the skill or the power--I think it's pretty obvious he does from the fact that he was just about on par with Aqua in the final stage of their exam--but because he still did not grasp the philosophy Eraqus was trying to teach him. Terra is a Keyblade Master in the same sense that Anakin is a Jedi Master, and Master Xehanort called him "Master Terra" the same way Emperor Palpatine called Anakin "Lord Vader."

^ I thought the exact same thing 20 seconds before reading your post ! You nailed it.
Oh, and Sora has a stronger heart than Terra, which means his Keyblade is stronger. The skinny noob Sora sure can' t compete with the muscular and skilled Terra in terms of raw strength, but being a Keyblade Wielder was never about that. If you think it is all about strength and skills then you make the exact same mistake Terra and Riku did. Whoever Terra managed to beat (I' m still not convinced that Eraqus didn' t let Terra beat him on purpose) his mind was weak, and mind comes first. Let me put it this way : having the most powerful computer in the world is utterly useless if the OS is faulty and bugged, sooner or later it' s gonna crash.

" I thought I was already stronger than Yoda ?"
"Only in your mind, my young padawan !"

I'll give you Eraqus. The Xehanort and Vanitas fight was scripted. Xehanort wanted Terra to beat him up, so as to release more darkness. To curb-stomp Terra. would go entirely against the body-snatching plan. Yes, the Lingering Spirit defeated Terranort. Sora defeated the Lingering Spirit. Terranort was new in his body, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

There's a possibility the Eraqus thing was planned, but there's not enough evidence for it.

Ability of flight he learned in Neverland. It's a skill.

You're judging Sora's friends to mean that Sora is weaker than Terra. I'd turn that around. Sora has his friends by his side. Terra alienates them, so that in the final battle, he's alone, while when Donald and Goofy were captured by Ansem SoD, Sora rescued them. Having friends is an extremely important part of being a Keyblade wielder, to the point where Sora won out over Riku purely because he had friends. I'd judge that as a sign of strength.

This is relevant to the topic, because I make the argument, "Sora is not a master, known because he is taking the test in 3DS. Sora is a better Keyblade wielder than Terra. Therefore if Sora isn't a master purely on skill, neither is Terra, and it must be the acknowledgement by another that deals with it.

I'm so sorry Terra. :| I forgot to mention I meant potential wise, but I believe others have said it before I clarified. And yes, I know, which is why my older post said that Sora is weaker compared to TAV.

Anyways, I have nothing else to say. Am just gonna linger, float, prowl the premises, whatever. I'm sorry I can't come up with any other arguments or anything. :|
