Well I don't know about it is endless. But the scientists says that we have only explored a little tiny piece of it all.
And that makes you wonder, with the speed of the tecnologi now how(it's not going so fast) are the humans going to explore the rest?.

Technically, the universe isn't infinite. It wouldn't be expanding if it were. Eventually, the universe will start contracting at some point and then implode into a new universe... or at least that's what I learned from my crazy Astronomy teacher last year...

the universe is ever expanding, but black holes make it ever shrinking, so i think there is a limit to how far it can go, and black holes stop it from reaching that limit....

what happens when we reach that limit, we may never know....

its hard to think about because of infinite part of it all. the fact that we live on a finite spherical planet means that we automatically assume that it has to have an end, which limits our ability to think otherwise. its just the way our brains work. oh the bit about the universe expanding and then contracting is called the "Big Crunch" and it means the universe is on a loop. theres also the "Big Rip" where the universes expansion starts to speed up and then everything rips apart at the atomic level (lovely). then theres "Heat Death" where the universe gets so big and the energy is so spread out that the average temperature drops so low that everything dies and atoms stop moving. but, again, all of these things are on massively vast time scales.

i think that space is infinite and our the matter in our univers is spreading out over a larger "area" in that space.

    ... I believe that it's huge.

    That is basically it.

Eh, I don't think it's actually endless...I find that a little hard to grasp. Sure, the thing is obviously gigantic...but endless? I don't think so.

I am so undecided about this!

All I have to contribute is: if space ends, then what picks up in its place? Thats where I get lost:eek:

it's impossible for us to know unless we can get a super fast space ship to go aound and check it out... but i don't think we'll ever know if there's an end to space.

I seriously think we have the technology to build one (a probe to send out) but the thing that's setting us back is the cost it's going to take. Durn economy.

I always thought that the universe is always expanding, so would it not be endless?

    Perfectly said ^^

We dont have the technology to get to Mars without taking MONTHS D: We cant last that long without supplies bein shipped out to the space shuttle. And Mars is close.
Probes have gotten pretty far, but again progress is slow. Plus at a certain point theres no reception/power for it
There is nothing fast enough, even light can take eons to travel from other galaxies to our planet:eek: Thats why we see stars that imploded many many years ago.

I read on a site that we have the technology to build such ships that are equiped for such conditions and in that same place it said that the only reason we aren't searching the far reaches of galaxies is because we don't have enough money to even build it. :/

The Universe is endless, let's say, your flying in space, you can't fall off the Universe, am I correct?

... well... techinically... you'd be wrong because it'd be neither. You can't fall off or on the universe because no one's figured it out yet.
