Think about it. How long could it go for? I have to go, but I will be posting my thoughts.

Honestly, i've spend many days thinking about it. But it makes me have a headache. I suppose it's one of the unanswered "big" questions.

    Yes

    ...

    It is

That's why they call it "space".

It could be, we don't know because we've never actually went through all of the iniverse, and we never will...

Apparently the theory is that the universe is expanding as time goes on. I don't know the scientific fact that support this theory, but to me, it just seems that we discover more and more of our universe which creates the idea that it's getting bigger.

Meh, it's beyond the scope of human capability to learn if space has an 'end'.

Nope. The fact that all galaxy are moving away from us is proof that the universe is expanding.

The universe, as in matter, is finite, however, space is infinite.

I believe that humans are not meant to know. We can never prove or disprove the question, it would be impossible.

i think it's gotta go on forever. how would you expect it to end? the only way it could is if there was a big wall that stops you. and in the infentesimently small speck of a chance that that is true, (which its not), what could be beyond that wall? im not saying there is a wall though, i believe it goes on forever, expanding or not.

Ah, point taken. Although the answer to the question if it will continue expanding is still unknown.

Well, it'll probably keep on going for a few billion years, and then contract again, form a singularity, then go boom, accoding to the big bang theory. Ofcourse, if it doesn't stop, in a few trillion years, all matter will decay and the universe will become a vast, empty, lifeless place...

EDIT: Roxas, I advise you to ask a mod to change your name. It's terrible in quoting.

I would definitely like to think it's endless.

From what we know and can infer, and because we have never even reached the end of our own galaxy, that means that the universe has to be endless.

And btw, of course it's endless. U-n-i-verse. All connected.

But neverending in our universe is hard to say....I can only say it is because that's all I know. :/

All you need to do is click the 'quote' button, which will automatically have my name printed in the header. I don't find it difficult at all to do.

For some reason, I don't think so.

I think it's some kind of "circle". Like...hmm. It's hard to explain.

It could be......that would be pretty neat but all things have to end somewhere........one of my theroies is that once you go all over space you hit a certain limit and are instantly sent to the otherside........or like space is one HUGE sphere shaped planet and there are other planet shaped spaces in another space which is in another and so forth.......who understood that?

For me, there is a lot of junk at the end of the post after I quote you, so I have to change the name. Also, not everyone has the ability to read Japanese characters.

Sorry for the offtopic post. Carry on.

You're bringing on the idea that Space repeats itself, no?

The idea that you can never reach an end or limit, that once you hit a point, you are instantly on the other side from where you started.

However I find that a bit hard to believe....though it is a possibility.
