I think he's perfect. He's not so nice that he annoys the crap out of me, so I doubt he'd ever get overcome by darkness. As it should be because he wields the keyblade.

    Pfft. No.

His kindness actually keeps him from going over the edge when it comes to anger. He kind of evens it out, with kindess being on top, which is what needs to be. If he was too nice, he wouldn't have killed off the Organization or temporarily killed Maleficent either. And in order for him to continue his journey, he has to help others in order to seal the Keyholes...twice, I might add.

So, no, I don't think he's too nice. He's perfect to me. And Riku usually points out what needs to happen when he doesn't know. He's only 15.

Not really...Not to me. He's only really nice to his friends...It's not like he just let the Organization do their thing.

Other personality traits overcome "nice". Therefore, I wouldn't say he's so nice...In fact, yeah, generic protagonist...Makes me uninterested in Sora...so many ways. @_@

Well... Maybe it's impossible for someone to keep helping strangers without wanting any return, but still... He lived on an island his whole life, for God's sake! o_o Helping others was the only way he found to keep travelling aroung.

Uh I don't see Sora ever stuffing up and failing the end of KH2 because he was too nice... It's his niceness that earned him such close friends...his niceness is very Sora, and Riku and Kairi like him for it. If you take away some of it, you might get Riku. And look what happened to Riku.
Sora has many, many friends on many worlds. The personality he already has helped form those friendships.

AND NO SORA'S NOT COMPLETELY NICE!!!!! He can be barabaric!! Example, he kills Demyx for no good reason!! He could have just weakened Demyx, then talked with him. Instead he crushes Demyx's weaker offence and destroys him. What's wrong with wanting a heart? And did Demyx do anything that deserved the death sentence?

At times Sora seems really naive and so does seem too nice but most of the time its good that he is generous and has a good heart - I mean, who doesn't like nice people?
Okay, I take that back, I know a few over-nice, annoying people.
