I don't know, that chibi style is a little strange if you ask me......and the mapping of the Odyssey games isn't a fan-favorite game mechanic of mine either.

The main thing about it that turns me off is time portal something or other crossover bullshit that ruins almost every franchise as soon as it's introduced. It looks like a well designed game, though. I'll probably buy it because it's Persona and I'm desperate for any new content at all.

Don't expect a story comparable to the main games, because this is basically fanservice with some nice character things as a bonus. I got it last week and am about halfway through; it's pretty fun so far and I haven't really regretted it.

PLUS AIGIS IS A GOD IN THIS GAME

Well I wouldn't say timey-wimey stuff is a new feature for the franchise with certain games considered, but it gives the impression you could skip it/literally not know it existed and it wouldn't have much of an effect on the franchise overall, canon as it may be.

Yeah, all of the spinoffs got confirmed canon by Atlus earlier in the year iirc.

this is especially canon. easily the most important canon of all.

Considering the only Shin Megami games I've even played are IV and Overclocked, I can't say I know much of the main games.

I've enjoyed it so far. The beginning can be full of training battles to get your teams better right awya so you don't seem outclassed, and you can lose a lot of your money later on trying to get better allies, but I've enjoyed the story. I haven't finished it yet, but near the end, and overclocked actually has more endings than the original, and expands on some of the endings as well
