Well, we have to keep in mind that **** Cheney had the most expirience out of anyone, and that didn't turn out so great.

In all truth, he probably doesn't have enough experience, but it is a hell of a lot better then having mcCain.

Don't know if I am the only one who noticed, but would you Rather have Obama, who has been talkens about change and trying to recover our economy? Or would you rather have McCain, who spends half focusing on war, and the other half focusing on finding stuff to use against Obama since he doesn't have anymore material. I mean, he acts Obama more then he talks about his statements and such........(I noticed it like a month ago. He hasn't had any new material for a long time....)

The question shouldn't be "is he ready?" If that was it then no one would have been ready. The question I want answered is "what is he going to do for our country?" All I've heard is promises that seem impossible to be fulfilled. I really want to know what he's going to do about the alternative fuels. Off shore drilling (McCain) is going to work for a generation but an alternative fuel will last.

I'd truly take Obama over McCain anyday because McCain seems way too desperate to me. I actually don't know any other person more suited for president at the time than him.

What makes him seem bad are these stupid reporters that use one thing that someone said wrong once and they use it against them. They really don't have much dirt on him. But the press is following him around like Britney Spears and her sister when she got pregnant.

Really McCain is really not ready for presidency. I think Obama could use some training from the professionals. He should ask for advice from a former president or presidential candidate (good ones though not Bush or anything like that)

Let me just say ahead of time that I don't like either of the candidates, but I know a decent but of information on both.

To address the alternative fuel sources debate, the only really useable alternative fuel source right now is that biofuel corn stuff. While it's good for now, the price of corn will soon skyrocket even though it is fairly easily obtainable. Did you also notice that once Congress entertained the idea of offshore and domestic drilling that oil prices started to go down? In my opinion, we should drill for fossil fuels at home now and use them for ourselves until more alternative fuel sources are more readily available and efficient.

As for the press, they tend to support Obama and the Democrats 90% of the time from what I've seen. Did you know that in one of his speeches Obama said that he had visited 57 states and was sorry he couldn't get to Hawaii and Alaska? Well none of the press cared. They just swept it under the rug and ignored it completely. When the first George Bush was running for president, he had a vice president Dan Quayle, and at a spelling bee at some school he was visiting he spelled potato "potatoe", which is a small error. But guess what? All the press and all the late night comedians stretched this out for months. "No one's stupider than Dan Quayle!", "Dan Quayle spells worse than school kids!" all over the press. I think 57 states is a bigger mistake than adding an "e" to potato in a spelling bee. Even if Obama meant that he visited states more than once, and thus his state visits added up to 57, he should have said, "I visited every state in the continental U.S." instead of sounding unprofessional and saying he visited 57 states.

And how is McCain not ready? Realize, I don't like him any more than Obama, but he's a war hero. He was a prisoner of war for a very long time and he didn't say a word, and he has years of political experience behind him. if anything, he is far more prepared than Obama.

None of the candidates for this election really stand out to me. Hell, Ron Paul would be more promising than McCain or Obama in my opinion and I thought his views were rather extreme. Either way, the next 4 to 8 years probably won't be much better than the last 8 for America.

i think we should worry that is America ready for Obama, because yeah slavery is done and all but there are racist people out there and if he becomes the president i have a bad feeling that there might be an assassination

well, i don't think that's a problem. i mean it's not like everytime a white person wins, they get assassinated by black people. while it may be different in this case, i think the same result would apply.

I don't think that's necessarily the case, though it's certainly possible. It could happen, but it's not the biggest problem by a long shot.

Barack Obama is as qualified as anyone else, in my opinion. John McCain and Hillary Clinton were qualified, but they won't make good presidents, in my opinion. Barack Obama is smart, quick on his feet, and seems to me the only candidate right now who knows how to make a change. John McCain keeps saying that he's going to change Washington D.C., but Dubya said exactly the same thing. I was watching the Daily Show yesterday, and the amount of footage of George W. Bush and John McCain saying the same thing was startling, to say the least.

And John McCain isn't smart? Not to mention that McCain isn't just going to keep everything the same...

By your logic here, we can't trust Obama with change anymore than McCain or Bush.

Yea, and there are tons of videos on YouTube and other media sites showing Obama taking lines out of famous and fairly recent speeches. I don't know if the point you're making here is that McCain's a plagiarist or that he's another Bush, but he isn't either. The similarities between Bush and McCain are just about the same as the amount of similarities between any two Democrats. Plus it's John Stewart. The guy will take stuff out of context (espescially for Republicans) just to get a few laughs.

    I think he'll do fine.

By now, it seems like the republicans are just using the fact that he's inexperienced to try and get people not to vote for him.

While at this point the "Obama is inexperienced" well has gone dry, the Democrats are doing the same thing to Palin...

We've got to keep in mind here that Cheney had the longest resume ever, and that didn't work out so well.

I strongly believe in Obama for President. The man has political ambition and he's a great people person with a worth while attitude for achieving his intentions. He also has a very well thought out floor plan for fixing our failing economy.

Ambition and attitude do not a good politician make. And what is Obama's floor plan to improve the economy? I've heard him make promises to fix it but have seldom heard actual plans.

I believe he is the best choice for president, probably ready enough to be there. Looking at what McCain is for, I really don't want this guy full of bullshit running for president. I seriously would actually prefer Hilary over McCain, if you would see I'm going extreme on that.

Why does everyone think that McCain is full of shit? He has sound plans that (besides the banning abortion part) are entirely reasonable. They're just different from Obama's... And Hillary Clinton should be in jail right now, so I don't think anyone should support her.

I don't think he's ready. He just doesn't have the experience. I'm for McCain; he and Palin both have experience I think that they would do great in their respected offices.

Was it Obama that was friends with a terrorist...?

    *back on topic*
Personally I don't think he's ready for presidency, but who knows, he may turn out to be the best president we've ever had, noone knows until they actually become a president, so- idk.
But... if our president is friends with a terrorist...
idk, the thought is kinda scary...

I personally think McCain is better, and he has more experience :]
