When someone helps someone out of a bad situation like going to be beaten up or helping with work you would usually think you have done a good deed, but overall you are weakning that person, they will rely on you for protection or for your help again and not be able to learn how to defend themselves or study the work.
Soon when you can't help them, they will fall and fall hard for sure.

There's no problem with helping another person from time to time. What you're getting at is the all out of carrying another person through their burdens which is of course going to leave them dependent on you.

It's always the right thing to help people. It doesn't actually weaken them, either, it sets a good example and encourages them to help other people in turn.

Well I don't think so. Personally if there is no good or kindness kids wouldn't really get help and wars wouldn't stop(screw that!) But yeah without kindness a lot of people wouldn't be able to get because think about it people volunteer to help kids understand and supposedly understand it

They may not be able to survive without your help (if it's that bad) and it always feels really good afterwards when you helped someone.

The people on this forum don't really strike me as the type to really be able to help someone out of a life or death situation, as most of you are pretty young anyways. What I mean to say is, if somebody held a gun up to the person next to you, the majority of the people here would be ****ting themselves rather than thinking about stepping in the way. Not to mention the fact that I somehow doubt that any of you are gonna be in that sorta situation anytime soon.

Doing good doesn't really hurt someone, well directly anyways. For example, if you stood up for someone who was about to get beaten up they might just get it even worse next time, or you'll get hurt as well. There's nothing wrong with doing good as long as you don't get carried away. You also have to realize there's a difference between doing good and being over-protective.

There's nothing wrong that I can see with assisting others in times of need. That's what being a good friend and well humanitarian is about. It's having benevolence for others and who wants to stand there and watch while someone is getting pulverized? I couldn't personally stand there and let that happen. Now, there are times also though when you may be assisting someone by just being supportive or not interfering, of course, which still is a decision based to helping the person face life, but if someone is being beaten up, I don't really see an instance where I wouldn't react, whether it's a friend or not.

Helping people isn't a bad thing, it's something that we all have to do sometime in our lives (hopefully all of us). But you should'nt make people extremely dependant on you. If they do, you should tell them that you can help, but sometimes they ahve to stand up for themselves.

I good to help others in need. You never know, you may be helped in return. It's like your judging the weaker one's in need. You can't just sit there and laugh at it.

Just because your helping others dosen't mean that there learning something from it. When you help the ones in need, you give them courage. We give them hope to look forward and never back. To think postive.

So that they could help also. You may not be there always but that dosen't mean that they can't be there for others.

    Thank you.

I mean, people who can just sit there and laugh at those helpless people, just piss me off. The world is cruel and disturbing already and they think there just better then others. I like to help, I like to give people courage, I like to help others in need. And if people don't like it, well the can just Kiss my ***!

I fully agree with you! If I can help someone I always will, and I think it encourages them to help others too.

Sure sometimes people need to fall so they can learn to pick themselves up, but that doesnt mean you should just ignore people who need help. ^^
