Is Dance A Sport?

I don't think it is a sport because usually sports are competitive but dancing isn't.

 

In the United States it is.
There are many dance competitions.

 

There are competitions to everything once in a while. There are competitions to food, do you think eating is a sport?

 

No.
Eating is an indulgence.

There is competitive dancing.
Actually,a lot.

When my friends go on competition I usually know because it takes up the whole entire weekend.Sometimes you even have to travel out of state.

 

I'd say yes. Not that I know what a definition of a sport is, but I do think it is a sport.

 

Dancing is a sport. Its just not considered a sport beause schools dont compete against each other in it, and hardly any guys do it. it still requires a lot of energy. Believe me, I know

 

We have dance as an option for a class - instead of PE - and it takes a lot of engery and effort and work - and can be very competative - it is deffeintly a sport - we have a dance team and they compete with the different schools in the area - and they work just as hard - if not harder then the other sports teams

 

If you move your arms and legs around it a sport to me,
I think me running away from a mob of people trying to stab and kill me is a sport. ​

but then again ballet and stuff is really hard and required practice so maybe
i dont kno

Dancing is a sport, it takes just as much if not more practice, dedication and talent as sports like baseball and football. I've been dancing for 13 years and there's no way I wouldn't consider it a sport. =D

Dancing takes practice and time plus physical stuff much like the more well known sports around the world.

 

you sweat you burn calories you work your body so yes

 

Of course dance is considered a sport. There are competitions and anything that burns calories and gets you in shape is considered to be athlectic in my book.

 

If it is, I'd be pretty darn good at it. I'm the best dancer around where I'm at.

 

Dance is a sport, it requires just as much talent and grace as any other sport, so why shouldn't be?

 

What I know is that Dancing is gonna sweat you till you sigh ^w^

 

It is. you go to comepetitions just like any other. you are judge on everything your technique and more.

I dance but notr competetively....

 

Yeah dancing is a sport you can also lose calories and stuffe it makes you feels good to dance ^W^
