Birth by Sleep Is Anyone Else Disappointed That The Game Will Most Likely Use a Card System?

    Okay...so the command deck...what I think is that you set up the order of your moves. As you execute your specials/magic it will recharge and you will chain together magic/special combos. Did you see Terra use blizzard almost instantly after fire(was it the other way around?)?

    Yeah, well, I had to be disappointed by at least one FF game. Most people seem to hate FFVIII (which I quite liked actually)...So yeah.

    Has it actually been confirmed by Nomura that a card system will be used?

    Yea, that's something along the lines of what I think, but I think you compose your abilities that you will use in battle when your at the pause menu. You'll have a certain amount of card points or something and each ability will have a certain point cost. Those abilities will be added to your menu under one of the 4 menu slots. If you have more than 4 selected, it will be like the magic slot in the regular Kingdom Hearts games, where it opens up a sub-menu.

    Well he said the battle system would be similar to Re:CoM, and he hasn't retracted the statement yet.

    It is not a card system literally, there are no "cards", the connection is drawn by Chains of Memories' "customizable attack deck" system. Birth By Sleep's battle system utilizes a command deck completely customized by the player, set up before you enter battle, and selected through an alloted number of abilities gained thus far in the game.

    If you notice in the leaked trailer, there is already this deck in place. Pay attention to the battle scene, every time Terra uses magic, the command menu "scrolls" to another attack. It is not literally a deck of cards, but a "Deck" in that you customize a preset list of magical abilities that you can cycle through to use.

    Each time Terra used a magic attack, it disappeared from his "Deck" because he used it up, and the next magic attack in line took it's place. So, as a player you will most likely obtain several different "magic", "attack", and "item" abilities that you will then place into your command menu as a deck to scroll through and make use of.

    similar, yes, but Zeftnon had this whole thread explaining what seemed fairly accurate about the battle system. I think it'll be its same kh-ness. And seem from the leaked trailer, it seems as though movement and reaction commands are still fine too. I dont have any problems. Although I hated the CoM style of fighting, I do like how Nomura has given us a different battle system each game. Kh1's B.S. was about strategy and movement, khCoMs was about set up and combos and kh2's was pure button mashy goodness. I think BBS will have a combination of the 3. I wouldnt assume too much yet.

    I saw pics and those weren't anything similar from a KH CoM gameplay. As in card I think they ment as in temporal power boosters.

    ...*points at Muffin* At least you payed attention. *points at Lightning* I already mentioned Zeftnon and stuff.
    *points at Axelrific* I don't think there will be "power boosters" like that. Only the Fatal, focus and (insert name here) meters do that.

    I quite understood now but, weren't the memory cards EXCLUSIVE to Castle Oblivion since they were made by manipulating the meories and materializing them into cards? Anyways, as Muffin said, it's not LITERALLY a card system, Nomura would never bored us with something old UNLESS he updated the battle system.
