NOTHING is perfect, everyone has done some wrong- it's impossible to do no bad, you may think you haven't or know someone who thinks that, they just don't notice the bad things they've done, only the good.

Then why do people use innocence if people are not?

This is just my opinion but

I think it is more that people use the "idea" of innocence rather than innocence itself. The connotations it has of being a good thingis built into us. The idea of innocence can be used to manipulate and affect situations. Ironic since that goes against the meaning ^^

By claiming innocence it changes the outlook of a situation, it spins things to create a positive outlook. It also adds drama/atmosphere

    For example

"Many innocent people were caught up in the conflict" has more of an impact then "many imperfect people were caught up in the conflict"

I am sure people will disagree with me and thats fine, everyone has their own opinion ^^ but IMO innocence is just a way to gain further advatage.

I think that people should just put people, instead of innocence people, but I don't think I will be able to change anyone.

I agree, people should be allowed to be people without having to think of labels. That doesn't mean I think everyone should be allowed to whatever the heck they want, but at the end of the day (its night) sorry at the end of the day people are people, it is in our nature that we can't be perfect, so why categorise (Im not sure if I spelt that right?).

Hmm you shouldn't worry about changing people, if someone si going to change then they have to want to change. As long as you follow what you believe in then that is all there is ^^ choose your path and let others choose theirs. Besides one voice can make more difference than you would think XD

Words are powerful, but only when used properly and in the right order, and charisma helps, but that doesn't help on the internet. :p

Anyway on subject,, innocence is also what people would say of someone that does 'good' work for the community, helping others, they would call them 'innocence of evil' still I would not believe this, I think people who help the community are usually trying to make up mistakes they have made in the past.

Its a sad fact of life that yes in today's society there is an attitude of ulterior motives. Like people who do good things so that they can be praised. But I like to think are still a few people who do good because it is in their nature. True enough even they are not truly innocent, but there are varying degrees of "good" and "bad" ^^

As you say "words are powerful" this discussion proves it I think ^^ look at the power of the word innocence, just a single word that can have such an impact.

I only use Good and Evil as an example, I do not really believe in it. Butyou do make a point, people do actually help to get something out of it, even if they don't want something, they get the happiness of helping, some people crave to fell happy, people always want something for helping, whether physical or mental.

Also, the terms good and evil all depend on your viewpoint. For example, in a conflict if someone changed sides they would be evil to one side and good to the other.

Back on topic, innocence is very context-dependant. In a war and innocent is someone who has nothing to do with the conflict and therefore is innocent of any fighting. But I agree that no-one (excluding those that haven't lived long enough to do anything wrong/bad/evil) is truely innocent in the general sense.

Like I already put, I only use Good and Evil as an example. Since it is a viewpoint many people know.

I don't think it's possible to encompass 'innocence' in a way that will suffice every possible situation; the term 'innocent' would have to be implied to a certain context, and in that sense, the decision whether a person is 'innocent' or not can be made.

In wartimes, 'innocent' people would be those who don't wish to fight, but are killed as a result of collateral damage. The fact that these people never wanted to inflict pain on others in context of the war makes them 'innocent', and thus if killed would be considered to have been "innocent civilians/bystanders".

Similarly, people are judged in court as to whether or not they are 'innocent' or 'guilty' of the crime being addressed. They could've stolen a chocolate bar from a convenient store when they were five, but still be capable of being 'innocent' in the murder of Mr. John Doe.

It's impossible to really categorize innocence as a human quality or disposition. It's something we can only assess by individual situations. You're 'innocent' of this, but 'guilty' of that. It's not something perpetual that we can claim ourselves to be at every given moment of each and every day.

So no, no one can really be truly innocent, but I think the means by which you're trying to define 'innocence' is a little too severe.

Well aside from infants, I don't think anyone is truly innocent. We all makes mistakes in life.

I think there's innocents per situation, as in, having done nothing wrong in the situation that they have been placed in, ie. innocent civilians in a war. However, no, I do not think that anyone is completely "innocent" in a point blank term.

You've created too steep of a criterion for innocent. We usually refer to them as innocent within the scope of the present situation. By that logic we're all horrible people, which isn't the case as certain actions do not equate to other actions. Even if we are judged within our entire actions there's no real way to characterize an entire human being as being entirely innocent or guilty. Especially when either of the terms can be used in such relative or subjective terms
