Age is a factor, but a valid point or argument is a valid point or argument nonetheless. Even if you're, say, fifteen years old, but you argue something while backing it up with strong evidence, it would be ridiculous of somebody to disagree with you/disregard your statement completely based on your age. The only reason I say it's a factor is because younger people have obviously experienced less, and are therefore more prone to naivete...but that's not to say that adults can't be naive or have weak arguments.

I will agree with both of these posts.

I personally do not find age to be an issue the majority of the time, though naturally I do not like when those a lot younger than me try to tell me how I should/should not be living etc.

Ironically I find that online I get more discriminated against because I am older than a lot of people I talk to.

For example on here people will often be insulting towards me because I am older than them.

Yes i have but at that very same moment i flip the table on them. i.e. i tried an experiment on a social networking site on a debating page and i introduced my age. No debated my points were invalid until i included my age. People decided because of my age they'd try to get away with belittling me with their own stupid opinions and i made them shut up through my arguement.

P.S; I'll post more later but i need to go.

In certain instances, yes, such as age of consent and the driving age.

In other instances, no, such as pretty much nobody over 30 caring about what you have to say if you're under 25.

Not really. Saying kids don't have the emotional knowledge that adults do is ridiculous.

Rejection - kids are often rejected. They are rejected by crushes. They are rejected by parents who leave them.

Depression - there are places designed specifically to deal with kids who have depression. Many kids have to go to counciling for depression including myself.

Hardship - are you saying kids don't have any hardships. What about kids in Africa who are starving and have to get jobs at young ages? Even kids in richer countries have hardships.

Yes, age does matter in my opinion, because as I have grown up I look back on all my younger selves and wonder how I got by knowing so little. It's all about the new experiences I have been through. I still think anyone can have a valid argument at any age but the arguments usually get stronger with experience.

Oh yes, age has always been a huge factor and I've been looked down upon because of it. Sometimes I feel like I'm old when I'm hanging out with people who are in their teens and then I feel like I'm too young when I'm around thrirty and fourty year olds. So age is a big factor because others judge you based on it.
