Help Is Advertising Allowed Through Private Messaging?

Because I have gotten several asking me to join other forums. I know you can't do it in thread, I checked the rules, but what about PMing?

 

I think it's allowed, because the general forum "public" can't see your private messages.

If it's not allowed then.. DAMN! *runs off*

 

I'm not sure, I don't think there is, otherwise it would be stated in the rules. But I just ignore those people anyways.

 

It is, but to a certain limit. Sending advertising once is okay, though I think most peeps dislike it. If ya get no reply don't send it again.

There's nothing about it in the rules I believe, but it's frowned upon. If you keep getting PMs from a particular member and it's becoming annoying, feel free to contact me or any other staff member. We'll give 'em the old one and two. :3

 

It's not allowed if you are getting unwanted advertisements through pm... I already told someone to knock it off today, so if it continues let us know.

 

I had the 5th person advertising on me. I see that they have no posts, and I can see why they joined this forum-to tell other people about theirs.

 

If you get unwanted PMs, especially from people you don't know or with low post counts, yeah, that is not right and you should report it to an admin right away.

The only place people are allowed to advertise other sites and post links is in their signatures so that it gives members the choice of going there or not without being harassed or spammed.

 

What do you mean by "low post count"?

 

A person with a small amount of posts, that doesn't nesseccarily mean anyone with a low post count, but maybe some. To define little amount of post I would say like 1-3o posts maybe P:
