Help Internal server error

This is less of a request for assistance (although if you have any idea how to help fix it i'm all ears) and more of a notification I suppose.

Lately I have been trying to use the search function for searching the role-playing arena, key word being trying. Whenever I try to search for something, it takes about 5 minutes to load and then when it does it's not what I expected; an internal server error message appears.

I have not tried it in any of the other forums, but I do know for a fact it constantly happens in the RPA.

 

Yeah, I'm experiencing internal server errors on other things myself. I'm not sure what's going on, but it's definitely something in the server.

 

We've had troubles with the site search for years now; I had hoped that rebuilding the search index might remedy them. It's helped in some respects but I'm considering now just upgrading to an official Xenforo add-on that optimizes the search for large sites (like ours). Until that gets sorted out, you can try to get around the errors with either of the following:

• Avoid short or general words. The search won't go through if you use words < 3 characters, for one, and if you search something like "sora" you're probably going to turn up an error. Be as specific as possible.
• Use google to search khv only. When you go to google, type in:

Code:

site:kh-vids.net Roleplay

Changing 'Roleplay' to whatever term(s) you want to search.

Obviously these are not ideal solutions and I do want to look into upgrading the search, but they're temporary fixes.
