Is it a blessing or a curse? I mean, I like knowing things and being able to answer questions. It's comforting when you are familiar with what is being dicussed.

But sometimes I wish I could just wipe my mind and forget everything I know. Knowledge takes the 'magic' out of everything. When I go to see films I sit and look for things that are wrong rather than enjoying the film and I can't stop ><. My mind never stops, I can't turn it off, so I can't enjoy the simple things in life.

Intelligence also means I'm able to over complicate and over think everything. Sometimes I just wish I was dumb. Lol, it's funny because I want to lose my intelligence and others in my year want it. I suppose people just are never happy with what they have and want to live the opposite because it looks better than what they have. Wow, I rambled a bit there.

Anyway, I think it is a double-edged sword. What do you think?

I know a few people who get like that during movies too. I try not to think about it really because I'm there to enjoy (hopefully) the the film, so if I see something wrong I'll only make a small note about it and then bring it up at the end.

Personally I like knowing that I'm more intelligent than some people. I also like being that "go to" guy at times where my answer will greatly help. Despite knowing what you do it's not possible to know everything, so there will still be mystery.

As for thinking too much and over complicating things by analyzing every possible angle and outcome, it's just something you have to live with. I've grown comfortable with my own thoughts, but from time to time I don't mind when someone tells me I'm thinking too hard about something.

Definitely a blessing. It can seem like a curse, I'm sure, but at the end of the day, I'm positive that I would've preferred knowing than being ignorant. Sure, things may be incorrect and people make mistakes, and knowing the answers doesn't necessarily make being 'aware' an annoyance. But there are great things learned from such inconveniences.

Humility is only possible with knowledge.

I am not very keen to classifying by intelligence. I think things should be based off of effort and attitude.

But effort and intelligence go hand in hand. You're not intelligent if you don't give it an effort, and if you don't give effort you're not intelligent.

To be very intelligent is based on yourself. Yes, some people are blessed with it, others need to work for it. But, yes, being intelligent would be a blessing rather than a curse. Though it could get annoying to analyze everything an not be able to enjoy simple things, it's better than just be being dumb as a rock.

I'm not keen on the terms 'blessing' or 'curse', but if I had to choose one I'd pick blessing.

That's just my two cents. ;D

I think there always has to be a balance between overdoing/underdoing something. Intelligence is no exception...
Id love to be better in math than I am, but everywhere else I think I do fine-
I prefer to be smarter but being too smart does have its drawbacks as you mention. Defintely can make it hard to connect with people-
