Release Date: Aug 21, 2009 Director: Quentin Tarantino This looks super awesome...and not because Brad Pitt is in it. I love the setting and the plot. WWII is a very intriguing time, in my opinion. Anyone watching? Plot: Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own...
I'm REALLY sure that there's a thread about this somewhere. But whatever. I'm watching this over the weekend. 8D I dunno why, but I'm reminded of Valkyrie(sp?) when I see the trailers. Even though the other movie is all about a whole...plan rather than killing as many German Nazis as possible.
I think this movie will probably be like that one movie Brad Pitt is also in, where everyone is cheating on everyone else. And it sucked. >: But I guess I can't judge until it comes out.
The more I see the trailers, the better it seems. Hahaha. Looks hilarious. And who doesn't want to see some diein' Nazis? Or seein' Hitler sayin, "Nein! Nein! Nein!" hahaha. The characters looks pretty chill.
I'm sure this has already been posted somewhere. Anywho, i'll probably see this when its on Sky and my dad just calls me in to see it. And I think they made a secondary name for it so they could advertise it at earlier times here. Not sure.
YES, I'm seeing it on way or another. I don't know if I'll get around to seeing it in theaters (I hope so), or I might have to rent it. But either way, it looks great. I'm fascinated by WWII. And I reck'n watchin' Brad Pitt kill'n Nazis will be mighty interest'n. ;D
I saw it last night. Whoa. O.O Just whoa. I thought it was going to be more historical than fictiony, but then they Spoiler actually killed him and I was like "wait, what?". I absolutely love Shosanna's part. I would have cried if I got my head around what the crap was happening. I mean, I got what was happening. It was kind of straight forward, if you will, but Spoiler once the theater caught fire everything happened so fast. Loved it.
I saw it a couple days ago. It was nothing like I thought it would be. It was pretty funny, had lots of action, and tons of just random moments.
I need my daily dose of historical action and humour with this. I'm hopefully going to go see it this weekend with a friend of mine, if complications do not arise. This movie looks just like what I would expect from a Quentin Tarantino film.
I loved this movie, it was hella badass. The ending was weird, I didn't expect it to be the way it turned out
