Infected

"Well, do you want my sword as a cane or not?" Asked inquiringly. "If you like, I can treat you at my medical facility's, if you want."

 

"If I knew falling off a ladder would attract peoples attention and bring survivors out I'd have done it weeks ago"he joked grinning at her,trying to lighten the mood

 

"Your just lucky I was on my way home when I herd her fall."

 

Molli looked at the guys sword and refused politely. Molli then looked at Rhys. "Then why don't you try." Molli muffled to herself before walking away from the large group of people. To many people, not enough chances. I can't die. I won't die. I don't know if they came in contact with them. The Infected. I can't risk anything. Molli felt a sting rush up her left arm. Suddenly stopping she looked down to see her fractured wrist.

 

"Molli?"he said,head tilting slightly

 

Molli lifted her arm up so she could inspect her wrist clearer. Nothing major, just a lot of swelling and maybe 2-3 fractured bones. "I'll live, but it hurts like hell!" Molli clenched her jaw, consiousness rushing back and releasing agonizing pain in her left arm. A pain that felt like a thousand bee stings in one spot. A knife slowly carving into your flesh. A bullet, shotting right through your veins. Molli didn't cry or scream, she has dealt through worse pains, but merely clenched her jaw tightly and tried to clench her fist, but the pain made it unbearabley impossible.

 

"Your wrist is fractured, you other arm is cut internally, and your right leg is broken. I have learned all about the human body as long as I have been studying the Infected. You cannot feel it because its a minor fracture and the cut is fairly small, it will seem like a bruise for a while. I have the proper tools to heal you." Then he thought. "I hold control over a large percent of the Infected here, almost all of them fear me because I killed off a large number of them. Also, I am of the few breeders that are left, too. If that is what you worry about."

 

"My leg is fine. My wrist just hurts. How do you expect me to trust you?" Molli asked cautiously, stepping back a bit. 'I mean, I don't even know him and hes already asking to fix my arm. At that moment he could kill me or drug me.' Molli thought, startled by the image.

 

"My counter argument, as I said, the fracture and cut are minor, barely feel-able to no pain at all, now my second counter is what would I gain from taking you out. And if anyone would like to come anyway there fine to. I honestly don't care if you decline, but this is to help a survivor. After my parents and my children and wife were killed by the infected, I have made it my business to try and cure the Infected, so my family's souls could have peace. Another survivor means I won't go crazy as I work to cur- ...I just noticed, you seem like you were abused as a child, slightly disfigured arms from large amount of griping, and distrust of people, common sociological and philological conditions of abuse as a child. Did your father beat you?"

 

"You cant just ask someone that!"Rhys snapped"You cant just assume you know everything about her! Molli do you want to go with this guy or wait back in the flat untill light or what?"

 

"The man has a point, that does seem to be some very personal stuff your asking about." Zeke said.

 

"You are a Donor right?" He asked "They often have a high sense of righteousness." He said cold, and uncaring seemingly. "And as for the question, it will change how I treat her injury's if she wants some help. With those injury's, you will be stuck here for about a month and a half if your the average human and take no help, supposing you don't get an infection like tuberculosis of rust poisoning.

"As I am a doctor, I ask the important questions that are important during treatment. I often use machines to add the cast and such on, but like this I might have to do a different type of method if this is the case."

 

Rhys turned to him,teeth gritted "who do you think you are? really! you think you can waltz over here and think you know everyones story? saying you can control the infected! let me tell you something....the infected are mindless,they dont follow orders,even the cross infected dont,they go where they want,when they want"He glared at him

 

Ah, simple man, you think of the infected as unnameable animals. Besides, I do not control them, they fear me, and you," e said slowly razing his sword to put it over his shoulder "do not understand I have been studying medicine for about 7 years. I am to help, but I need to know what I have to work with. If I just treated her without all of what I need about her, I could end up hurting, not helping."

 

"They are animals"he muttered "And you only think they fear you...but they dont. Trust me...wait till the crossinfected show up...they'll get alot braver with that back-up" I can only hope Eoughan wont be with them...that this infection killed him,rather than becoming...like them...I dont think I could stand it if he was

 

"I'm scared to go, Rhys." Molli whispered. "But I don't want to die." Molli weighed her options heavily. She was also taken aback when this stranger asked about her childhood. About her father abusing her. "In all respect, I do not wish to speak of my life with a stanger I haven't even known for five minutes." Molli retorted a bit to coldly.

 

"You'll be safe with me...I promise"he said,he felt a sudden responsibility for this girl,he had found her-or she had found him rather and they needed to stick together to stay alive..

 

"Fine, but if my procedure for fixing your arm's cut harms you in any way, I will not be held responsible. What is your blood type?"

"Aren't all human's animals? We are practical monkeys. I have already shown them the fear they can have, having there "Reinforcement" out number me 20 to just me, and having less then a nick in my sword afterwards." then he noted "Your brother is a cross infected? This makes things to come much more interesting to me." Anyway, let us go. The Infected won't dare follow my set path, it is over that ridge." He points to the small-ish hill in front of us. "We're about half way to my home, if you all come, just stay out of the left and right wings. The Infected I live with sleep there. They will not go after you so long as you are around me. leave my radius of 20 feet, they will attack instantly. When we're there, you can eat and drink all you want, my chambers are encased in titanium. No Cross infected has ever gotten inside, and infected come in there upon request. I will not ask for there help." He then pulled out a radio "Jazzy, tell everyone to leave the compound, any sleepers must lock themselves in the time out room, tell them not to worry, this is just business." Then he added "Do not go any where near my path, any who do will be executed by me personally." He put the radio down. "Most of the infected will leave now anyway, there is about fifteen of them in the compound area, but I feel more safe if guest are not feeling threatened."

 

" h-how did you know about my brother? " he said paling slightly

 

Molli went by Rhys's side. Not to close, but close enough encase she needed help. Molli craddled her wrist in her other hand. Trying to ease the pain wsn't easy. "D-Do we have to go to your house place. Isnt there some place else. . . I don't know. . . Safer?"
