Infected

Molli set her book on the bed and walked down the hall into the kitchen. "Rhys, do you know where-" Molli looked up an noticed Rhys leaning against the sink. "Rhys, a-are you ok?" Molli asked startled. She wanted to see if he was ok, but didnt want to go near him, incase he was. . . . . Bitten.
Molli slowly inched back. "Rhys?"​ Her voice was quiet and soft, like a whisper from the wind.

 

He stared out the window for a moment before turning to her, his clear blue eyes had a glassy look to them, " in fine " he smiled loosely at her " I just get like that sometimes ... Space out when I'm thinking.. Especially when I've been drinking... Ha that rhymes" he laughed. The bottle was next to the sink almost finished. He hadn't lied when hed said he didn't drink much.. But it was strong and he hadn't noticed how much he'd drunk or how much it was affecting him...thinking of his familymade him more sad than he let on... Alcohol numbed his pain

 

Molli looked into his eyes. "Have you been crying, Rhys?" Molli shyly asked, still keeping her distance. This scene reminded her of when her dad drank for the first time after her mom died. . . .

"I thought I told you to stay in your room!" Molli's father screamed at her, blood shot eyes and broken bottles on the floor. "Daddy, I just wanted to tell you goodnight." Seven year old Molli mumbled sadly. "But I told you to stay in your room!" He shouted louder, grabbing her arm a little but too roughly. "Daddy, let go!" Molli cried, trying to wiggle her way out of her fathers grasp. "Go to your room!" He shouted one last time, pushing her into a wall. Molli got up, hot tears threatening to break free from her scared, soft green eyes. "I love you, Daddy." Molli whispered, a few tears escaping her eyes and rolling down her cheeks, and wipped the blood away from her busted lip.

Molli, came back to reality. Her eyes were hard and fighting to not show emotion. ​"Rhys, I-uhm-I need to use the restroom. I will be right back." Molli struggles to force a smile and turned around towarda the bathroom.

 

" Uh yeah sure..l" he muttered hastily wiping his face " it's down the hall to the left..." he let himself fall into a kitchen chair after he stumbled against it, he'd probably scared her.. If her mum was an alcoholic and her dad abused her..." I'm not going to hurt you you know" he tried to say but the drink had made his tounge feel heavy and even he heard his words running together

 

Molli quickly walked down the hall to the bedroom, grabbed her draw-string backpack and climbed out of the window. Walking the edge of the Hotel, Molli grabbed onto the ladder and started up it. The ladder was loose and fell. Molli clenched onto the ladder as it fell. It stopped suddenly and Molli opened her eyes. 'One of those escape ladders I see.' Molli thought. She began to climb up the ladder again and climbed onto the rough thay she was just on. 'Just some air for a bit. I'll be back before he knows it.' Molli thought.
Molli sat on the ledge and flailled her legs slowly, letting the slow breeze catch her hair. She looked up at the moon, which was almost full, but not quite.

After about 5 minutes, Molli began down the ladder, shaking from anxiety. Molli was almost to the level where she had met Rhys, but slipped and went air born. She let out a faint shriek and grabbed the last bar before falling to an unfortunate death. 'I'm to nervous and scared.' Molli thought. Molli kept trying to pick herself up but the constant shaking from nervousness made it complicated to pull herself up.

 

As Zeke continued to make his down the building, he took notice that night was starting to fall. This meant that he was left with two option, he could stay here for the night or risk moving through the streets until he finds a better place. He took a quick look around him and say that the place he was currently in didn't have that many places to safely sleep. Looks like I have no choice. Now arriving at the first floor a the building, he slowly opened the door as he made sure nothing was out there. Once he was positive that it was all clear, he carefully made his way out of the building.

 

Molli pulled herself up as she did in gym class and tried with all her might to get up. She slipped and only one hand was keeping her from falling. Her draw stringed backpack fell to the floor. "Damnit! My drawings!" Molli shouted. She tried to make the ladder fall more but failed and fell to the floor. Molli tried to breath but air couldn't find it way out fast enough.
Molli coughed and blood dripped from her mouth. "Agh." She groaned, reaching for her backpack. Molli tried to sit up and she was in to much pain from the fall, so she continued to lay there, slow tears of nearing death fell from her eyes. 'If I get infected-' Molli thought. 'Then atleast its better than this pain.'

 

"Well that was uneventful." Lewis, leaving the Infect Dome with a bored expression. "Man, these Infecteds are getting weaker as of late!" Lewis was looking horribly bored by the time he was half way back to his casino home when he spotted a young girl lying on the floor, blood on her. 'Must of fallen from that latter by the old hotel...' He muttered "Hey girl, you OK?"

 

" Molli?" he said getting up after hearing the scream he moved to the window " Molli!"

 

Efstasia
Mathis


The two walked down the streets, taking the back ways.
"it will be dark soon. said the carrior.
The Breeder nodded as she followed close behind his jacket over her. She knew with his clothing on her the cleab scent of blood would distract the empties of her position. She was glad to have met Mathis when she did or else she would have died. "Can you smell anyone that isn't infected?" She pleaded with him. They had been traveling to find other breeders like Efstasia, but so far no luck. Some were even found dead in some of the labs.
"not yet." he said as they walked. Turning a corner the male stopped. He could smell blood.
What is it?
"I think I may have found some one." he said. "This way." he said running toward the scent.
Efstasia followed behind quickly.
"Anyone here! Hey!" She yelled out.

 

Rhys climbed down the ladders quickly to check Molli over, he slipped a little but caught himself, he knelt on the ground next to her, looking for broken bones

 

"Hey dude, know this chick or what?" Lewis said, not intending to sound street, just the way he says things sometimes...

As they neared the others Mathis noticed the people checking up on her. Mathis was going to say something when Efstasia spoke out.
"Is she okay?" the greek women said. She poked her head over the males body as he was checking the female on the ground. Taking out her bag she searched for a 1st aid kit that her and Mathis snagged at a convince store in West Virginia. "here I have pain killers and wraps." the women bent down and handed the male the kit.
Mathis stepped closer but keeping his distance just in case this girl was a donor or a breeder. Not many were found of his type...

 

Molli opened her eyes, startled. She tried to speak but her voice was so strained that she couldn't manage to spit them out. Molli slowly sat up. Her struggling arms trying to keep her body straight. Molli pulled her backpack onto her back and tried to stand up, using the Hotel building as support. "I'm fine." Molli croaked. Her voice cracking. "Probably just a little cut. Nothing that can't be fixed right?" Molli strained to keep herself up by herself, but everytime she tried, she always ended up holding the onto the building.

 

"I just met her tonight"he said to Lewis"are you sure Molli?what were you doing?"

 

"Best not to move, little lady." Lewis said, almost arrogant sounding. "Here." He handed her the handle of his sword to allow her to at least stand. "If your going to fight your injury, you need a support that can move with you."

"Ah. don't worry about the Infecteds around here for a wile, Most of them fear me anyway." He said with a smirk. "I also have medical facility at my casino."

 

As Zeke continued to advance through the city streets, he soon started to hear other voices. Heading to where he'd heard to voices, he came across a group of people. "Is everything okay over here? He asked.

 

Rhys stared at him for a moment then looked back at Molli"Does anything feel broken?"

 

"Well if your eyes were open, you would see this young lady here fell from that ladder. Fairly high fall as well from the looks."

 

Molli looked at Rhys. "I just went out for a bit." Molli confessed shyly. Molli slowly regained her balance and tried not to get to close to anyone or become trapped. Molli felt weird, she noticed that she felt less awkward around Rhys than she did anyone else. Molli looked around and everyone, being around so many faces startled her. She wasn't used to being around people. Molli looked down and fumbled with her sleeves.
