Eva walked quickly sos not to fall behind

 

Zeke soon followed behind the others.

 

"So where are you guys from?" Efstasia asked to make conversation, since this would be a long walk to the dock.

 

?I am from this place. Born and raised,"

 

"Wow, that must have been scary, when the epidemic started, so many people were changing so quickly... Oh but you are breeder, so you would have been in those safe houses then." Efstasia said. Though she was a breeder the moment they took her away was the scariest out of everything she ever expirenced in her life. She blocked that off for now. No point on worry about the bad when it was already horrible.

 

"Yes, but the building was poorly made and maintained. my mom and dad had me in the same year as it's opening, and I was nine when they broke in and killed my family and a number of friends. I was 17 when my wife and chidren were spririted away to the land of the dead as well..."

 

Efstasia frowned. "I'm sorry to hear that.." she said. It was heartbreaking to have everyone that was so close to you torn away. Her brown eyes trailed to Mathis. He told her only a little of the story of what happened to him. His family was the first to be infected, then him and his sister ran away and in a couple of months she too was infected into a crossbreed. And now he is a carrier. Damned to this life, never to be really accepted...

 

Molli quietly followed behind everyone else. Not too close, but at her own pace. They were still in sight so, she guesses that thats all that matters. At times she would stop and tie her shoe just to purposely fall behind. 'Maybe if I fall behind, I can make a get away.' Molli thought. She didn't want to be too close with these people. At times, she was stronger on her own. . .

 

as Mathis continued to walk he turned his head to look back. "Keep up." He saod looking to the girl who was slowly falling behind. "If you get lost and attacked it'll be ypur fault." He said being his rude, blunt, yet truthful, self.

Efstasia looked back to the girl, she didn't even notice the girl, she was so quite. The greek looked back to Mathis who was still,leading at the front. "Mathis " she hissed and lightly slapped his arm.

All the boy did was give a huff and continued to walk.

Efstasia let it go, there was no ise fighting or arguing with a hard head like him. She learned that after the first few months they met.

 

"Well since we're all formerly meeting, I would like to introduce myself." Lewis said "My name is Lewis. How about you all?"

 

"Efstasia Agelis. Born in Greece but raised most my life in South Florida." Said the Greek woman. "And that is Mathis Cobrara, also from South Florida." She said knowing that the dark haired boy would say nothing

 

"Ah, How was Greece? I planned to take my children and wife after this was all over..." his voice trailed off

 

"It was bad even before the infection started to spread to be completely honest. One of the main reason my family left was because of the economy was bad and rites would break lose many times." The female frowned slightly remembering those moments. She was young back then but she would visit annually and it seemed to have gotten worse with the closing in of the infection. "But even with all the things going on it was still beautiful."

 

"Well that is too bad."

 

"We're from Manhattan"Eva piped up"We travelled this way when things got bad"she said glancing at her brother

 

Molli sighed and picked up her pace again. Theres no need to waste time when they would probably be watching her. But then again, she didn't want it to looks like she wanted attention. I'm pretty sure thats its the last thing she would need. Molli quietly followed and minded to herself, not really in the mood for a conversation. Its has always been like this. After her mother perished and the episodes her dad would create, Molli became more of an anti-socializing depressed creature. She knew it wasn't good for her, but what everybody else thought wasn't even on the list for contemplation.

 

"Oh, Manhattan, nice. My father was from there, you know." He said in a response "And I didn't catch your name."

 

"Eva and Rhys George"she said smiling at him

 

"Very nice names." He looked around. "So, we are headed for a radio signal to help us find other survivors?"

 

"Wow, from Manhattan. Ive always dreamed to go to New York." She smiled remebering those days she wanted to go to central park and experience snow and real ice skating! "I heard that there was so much infected that they needed to blow down the bridges and tunnels into the city."

Mathis, though he didn't look interested, he was listening to the group talking. Manhattan. He always wanted to go there. Hell he always wanted to live in the city and work on Broadway! And h le was almost there before the whole epidemic spreaded through out the city.

Efstasia looked to the man and nodded. "yeah. We think if we get to the edge of the city we can get a radio signal since everywhere else is distorted." She said and they continued to walk. 5 more minutes and they should be there.
