In The Times Of Fairy Tails

Zwei sat on the opposite end of the the table that Taylor had decided to sit at. While she explained about what she did prior to showing up at the guild, he quietly listened. Among the things that she said, Highschool was one of the last things that he was expecting to her. One had to learn from somewhere so in hat sense it made sense. Oh well. At the end of her tale, she'd asked him about his own past. "Well it is different, do you want the long version or a shorten version of it?"

"That's a relief." Leo started, commenting on how the things she usual made didn't take long. That was one less potential worry for him to worry about. "You're not boring me at all. This is pretty interesting, plus to really know your stuff when it comes to this kind of things." Off the top of his head, there weren't many topics that Leo could think that he knew a lot about. Yeah there was his camera, but there weren't many applications that he could explain other than taking pictures.

Judging from her reaction to his suggestion, the thought had never crossed her mind. "There probably is, thought there could be more risks involved in doing so." Of course this was all speculation on his part. None of this was for certain to him. His eyes glanced over towards the magic shop, surely they would have some method of of doing or or at least knowledge on the subject. "We could ask more in there." He made sure to direct towards the magic shop so that she would know where he was referring to.

While everyone was either doing their own thing or interacting with someone, Zephyr had been sitting by himself for the most part. So far he hadn't found anyone to talk to right now, what he did instead was to dig into his pocket and pulled out the golden key that he'd taken form Everlue. He didn't know much about this other than that it was a magic key and that didn't tell him how to use it, assuming that he could. Right now he was just holding a presumed useless, to him, golden key.

"Least it makes a good souvenir." Zephyr remarked before flipping it slightly in the air. One time. Two times. Three times. ah ah aahhhhhhh. He'd tossed it in the air for a total for a three times before catching it and putting it back in his pocket. Maybe someone here in the guild knew about it, but who would know something about keys. ...Light bulb! There was a solid one person to of the people that he actually knew, which outside of the ones who went on the Everlue mission wasn't very large, that might now something. And that person was Aoki.

"The mask! Where is it?! Quickly!"

However his train of thought was interrupted when a man dress in golden armor shaped like a bird had burst the guild hall. Golden key, Golden armor. Even if that wasn't a sound enough reason to approach him, especially at this time, Zephyr was still going to question him about the armor. Problem was, this definitely wasn't a good time to approach him and ask about the armor. He would keep the birdman in mind for when he was less frantic. In other words he was going to speak with Aoki, who may or may not be speaking with someone already. Zephyr then got up from his seat and went over to where her and Conrad were. "Not sure if I'm interrupting anything, but mind if I ask you quick question?" He asked Aoki.

 

"Whichever you prefer," Taylor replied to Zwei. "I have time for the long version, but if you don't want to tell the whole thing then the short version is fine, too."

 

Gaius was getting his ass kicked pretty badly, but not as badly as people had probably expected. He'd taken far more punches than Gexln had, but he'd gotten a couple of them in. However, as he he saw Thomas come over and brag, his face was one of confusion. He stopped focusing on the fight for a moment. "Not a clue what you're talkin' about, I was there the whole time. And who cares about some red rock? That ain't gonna win you any fi-" he started before he felt a painful kick to his stomach.

"Don't lose your focus or you're a dead man walking" was all Gexln said as his foot became engulfed in shadow and sunk straight into Gaius' stomach, knocking the boy back and sending him flying across the hall, crashing straight into Malkira.

"Holy crap you're new. Are you a living statue? How do you eat?" Gaius asked, a thousand and one questions coming to mind.

"Giving up already?" the S class dragon slayer called.

Remembering the fight, he turned back to face the direction of Gexln, but that was when Ra called out. "I think I saw Dale with it" he called out. "I ain't giving up yet! I'm just getting warmed up. You running out of steam? My grandmother can kick harder than that!" he shouted at Gexln.

A slight smirk appeared on Gexln's face as Gaius retaliated. The kid was a pushover for him, of course, but at least he didn't give up. It was good to see new guild members fighting so hard. "Remind me to never get into a fight with your grandmother then" he responded as the fire mage and shadow dragon slayer clashed once more.​

Malkira's attention was drawn to the fight going on as a young man slammed into his side. The stool, which was already barely taking his weight, finally gave up and sent them both sprawling to the floor.
"I have no mortal need for food" he responded to the fire mage, he was slightly annoyed at this interruption, but a familiar feeling grew inside him as he remembered the old bar fights that constantly happened every tavern he went in, he dropped his battleaxe and got up, ready for an old fashioned brawl. The fire mage was getting his ass kicked by the S-class, it was an unfair fight at best "No matter how hard you fight, fire mage, you cannot beat this man alone" he ran over, his bulk generating impressive momentum, and with a fist of stone smacked Gelxn straight in the face with the full force of his weight. "Let me even the odds"

 

Caliborn heard the yelling for the mask and quite calmly walked over to where Ra and Cal stood, together apparently. He didn't say anything or give any outwards sign, but he wondered if Cal and Ra had something going? It was an odd combination, but equally he didn't know either of them that well, so who was he to judge? Perhaps it was simply nothing, that too was possible. In any case, when he arrived he took out the mask and handed it over directly to Cal.
"I believe you were looking for this young lady." Caliborn said. "Evanora asked me to give it to you. You must keep it safer, if it is so important. Never let it fall into someone else's hands again."

 

Charlotte had listened as Ander had relayed his thoughts on Evanora and how awful of a guildmaster she was. Charlotte...hadn't really had much to think on about Evanora's actions as a whole. She hadn't proven to do much prior to the fight against Ezekiel, though during the fight she had actually made the fight possible against the man and was preoccupied to fight something on her own. She also wasn't entirely too sure on what Evanora had done during her own mission, so there wasn't really much to go on on that either. All that Charlotte could really judge Evanora on was the entire exchange between her and Dale. There was something that Charlotte didn't like about the way that Evanora had been speaking, but nonetheless, it wasn't as though she were off base on everything she had said. In regards to the mask, Charlotte had said, "I doubt that is so much Evanora's fault as it Cal's. It's very likely that Cal simply could have kept it hidden for whatever reason she may ha-" it was at that point that Ra had burst out into the room asking for the mask, only for Caliborn to come back and give it to her. Raising an eyebrow, she had said, "or it has some extreme form of importance to her. Excuse me Ander." She walked away from the man as she went to Ra and Cal and asked, "Ra! Would you be so kind as to tell me why you're giving this girl the very same object she had used to attempt and kill us."

As Thomas had left her, Amanda simply asked her what was new with her. Thinking on it, she hadn't really done much other than talk to Thomas after she had come back from the mission. So, there wasn't really any much new things to say to her. Lucia just sort of shrugged at Amanda and said, "not much has been going on here. Just was talking with Thomas about uh-" she then realized that she couldn't really talk about what she and Thomas had talked about and continued, "well, nothing really. So, what have you been up to since we came back?"

Aoki had simply been sitting around and enjoying the atmosphere of the guild hall. Things seemed to be pretty chaotic and there was a bit of a brawl going on, which is something that she was quite used to watching. Though, she wasn't as used to watching one that was as...magical...as this. Nevertheless, it was a pretty fun watch. Her attention was interrupted as Conrad had come over and wanted to continue the chat they had started on the carriage. Shrugging, she said, "sure, fine by me. What'd you want to talk abou-," at that point, she was interrupted by Zephyr coming along and wanting to chat with her as well. Looking to blonde-black haired boy, she said, "alright. Ask away."

 

Guild Hall:



Ander's pov:
Charlotte said that Evanora was not at fault. Evanora knew full well what she was doing. He was sure Evanora knew about the mask. "I think..." At this point Ra came into the room. Then Charlotte went off. History was repeating its self he would not let that happen again. It was his past all over again. This time he would stop a guild from being destroyed. He looked around the room and spotted a girl that looked like he seen her before. Wait was that Thea? What was she doing here? Then it hit him, Evanora. Of course it was Evanora who elce would it be? Evanora and Thea could wait. He was angray now. He quickly made his way over to Ra, Chalotte, Calborn, and Calxiyn. Charlotte then asked Ra 'Would you be so kind as to tell me why you're giving this girl the very same object she had used to attempt and kill us.' In the talking to others Calborn was handing Calxiyn the mask. Taking the mask from Calborn. "Calborn." He was able to get the mask in time. "I would like to know this as well." He would not put it past Calxiyn to trick Ra. They needed answers now. Something just completely stupid was about to happen.

 

Guild hall:

Jack's pov: He was about to ask Caliborn if he wanted to talk about something else. He also desided he wasn't going to look for Alessia. If she wanted to talk she could find him. Then something started to happen and Caliborn took off. He fallowed. Then Charlotte stated talking. "Ra! Would you be so kind as to tell me why you're giving this girl the very same object she had used to attempt and kill us." What was wrong with Evenora letting Cal have something like this. What was wrong with Cal. Under no circumstances should you ever attack your friends. Well with no one to talk to this confersation should be interesting.

Occ: Jack is free for anyone to talk to.

Guild hall:

Amanda's pov: This question was going to be difficult to answer. She couldn't tell Lucia about the cat and what happened with Taylor. "Er, I talked to a few people and started to think about someone." She almost started to cry again. Even though these people she was thinking about were just her friends it didn't mean she misses them any less. "Sorry, what about you?" She didn't like thinking about them she was still struggling inside. She desided then that she would tell Lucia if or when ask asked.

 

Caliborn's eyes lit up and he immediately took the mask away from Ander. Mikasa was a stressful enough situation. Ander picked a wrong time to perform this stunt.
"Ander, what do you think you're doing?" Caliborn snapped, handing the mask back to Calxiyn. "Evanora, the leader of this Guild specifically instructed that this mask is given to the girl as a matter of life and death. I don't care who you think you are, but you are far, far out of line! You want answers, I understand that, but you do not interfere in business mandated by the highest order in this guild! Am I clear?" He bore down on Ander, looking him straight in the eyes.
"I will have an apology. As will Calxiyn. Understand, Ander? Don't test me child." Caliborn warned, arms folded. Just what I need. Someone being so arrogant when there's already this mess with Mikasa and Boreal to deal with! "Then you may leave. You will not have the answers you seek here. A suitable reprimand for your insolence." As if it wasn't clear enough that Ander was being told to go away, Caliborn gestured for him to leave. And quickly.

 

"Ra you shouldn't make such a big deal out of-" Calxiyn cut herself off when Caliborn came. She was reaching for the mask when Ander took it. She watched Caliborn's anger, and didn't feel as bad as maybe she should.

 

The mask was returned to her by Caliborn, but the fool boy who didn't know what command meant had attempted to snatch it away. Ra was about to take it back himself, but Caliborn beat him to it. "Charlotte, the reason i wish to give her back the mask is because should we withhold it from her, she will die. We agreed not to take Ezekiel's life. If we leave her to die, how is that any different? The mask must be returned to her." As he spoke to her, he glared at Ander, letting Caliborn speak to him. ​

 

Guilld Hall:



Ander's pov:
'Ander, what do you think you're doing?' "Protecting the guild from a weapon of untold power. Something like this mask should not be left lying around." 'This mask is given to the girl as a matter of life and death.' "What life and Death? who's life and Death?" he was confused by this whole thing. He turned to Ra "Are you really giving her a third chance? "I thought after all that had happened to you, after all I told you, you would understand." 'Charlotte, the reason I wish to give her back the mask is because should we withhold it from her, she will die. We agreed not to take Ezekiel's life. If we leave her to die, how is that any different? The mask must be returned to her.' she was in the same boat as him. He was really upset now. He had a huge regret telling Ra his past. "Bryce did not even get a second Chance. A third Chance was what undid my life. A third chance was what killed off my whole family." The key around his neck glowed a bright purple. "It was because someone let someone have a third chance. I could not and will not let my second family die like my first one did." He was on the verge of tears now. "I will protect those in need. I would not be able to live with myself if I let another guild go down in flames. I will not let it happen to another. Not again. I will not let my second family suffer the same fate. Destroyed by all. Destroyed within. Everyone dead. If I do nothing I will have failed all. The mission will be over." Evanora was wrong. "If you think this is right then I am not going to stop you Calborn." His face turned pale. "I did not know you were asked this." The weapon will destoy the guild. Calborn deserved the apology, Calxiyn did too he felt guilty. If someone could help her, he would hope they would want to help him too. Did cal not tell people about the mask for the same reason he told no one about the key? About the curse? "I am sory Calborn, I did not know that not giving Cal the mask would kill her." He respected Calborn, but Evanora was a lost cause. Ander now looked like all of the friendliness and kindness was sucked out of him in one motion. "History will repeat its self. Learn from..." All a sudden he was not feeling well. No friends, die alone. He stated swaying on his feet. "Learn from..." That was all he was able to get out before he hit the ground. The purple glow from the key was now gone. The key gone from sight.


The curse is progressing nicely, soon the boy will have no one. He will be hated by all, all will want him gone and no one will help him

 

"Very well." Boreal sighed. So, this guy wanted to be entertained huh? Well, let's give him a show. He began to form up little Ice-Made soldiers on the ground and had them run around, hacking each other to pieces and making them rebuild again, and again and again. "If you want, I can make something a little bigger. A bit more entertaining too. What do you say? What do you want? A dog, a snake, a dragon? Whatever it is you want me to make, I can make it." He thought it was a good offer. Clearly this one was a little stranger than he thought. A little childish even. Perhaps the infinite possibilities might actually get him interesting and with a bit of distraction, he could use it as a chance to get away.





Vance nearly snapped at the figure tugging on his sleeve, but his eyes opened wide in surprise at the curtsy she gave and the question of his status. So there is some hope for this guild after all. He smiled at Thea and bowed back.
"That I am. Lord Vance Dorian at your service. Say, what house do you originate from young lady? You curtsy very well for someone so young I must say." Vance complimented. He thought he liked this one. She seemed respectable enough and knew how to conduct herself properly. Although one question did spring to mind- What was someone as young as her doing here?

 

Calxiyn took the mask, and felt herself replenish. She took a look at it. A little, microscopic part of it was chipped. She wondered where that piece of her heart was now. She wondered if she could look for it. She was sure that maybe the tiny hole would fix itself eventually. "Thank you Caliborn." Calxiyn said weakly, standing up on her own. She stuck the mask in her dress. "I won't let it be misused, I promise."

 

Short version it is then Zwei thought to himself. Before speaking, he thought back to what he could say and tried to find a way to shorten it. It took a couple of seconds but he finally started to speak. "Alright, long story short I grew up streets begging and/or conning people for money. Some things happened and I decided change. Doing so lead me to coming here." There definitely was more to the story, but that was the most important things and least painful to remember.

It certainly sounds like she did, though what was she going to do now since she wasn't allowing Silvia to return home. Another question came to mind, but again he decided not to ask about it. It wasn't his pace to ask question about her mother's decision. Silvia's reaction to his suggestion of going and asking about mixing magic with herbs, made it clear that she was uncomfortable about that kind of thing.

That was when he'd noticed that they'd been out for quite some time. They should probably get back to the guild before it gets too late. "We'll have to same it for another time and start heading back to the guild. But I'll gladly ask for you next time."

He'd successfully gotten Aoki's attention and thus dug into his pocket once more and took out the golden key. "You know anything about this key?" Hopefully her use of a key shaped weapon would give him an answer to his question. If not then there was the guy in the gold bird suit armor, once whatever the whole mask thing that he run into shouting about was resolved.

 

Boreal nodded with the request for a puppy. It was a bit more tiring, but he figured he'd keep the little ice soldiers around just on the off chance that Derk was interested in those anyway. He carefully fashioned an ice puppy, with big adorable eyes and floppy ears and a little tail which it wagged constantly. The puppy was of a playful nature, he decided. That was the beauty of his Dynamic Ice Make, he felt. Everything felt alive, had character. That was the true art. Derk seemed to want to know why he was locked up.
"I tried to kill a demon. The Guild didn't really want me to go near it, so now I'm here. I suppose it's also to do with the fact that we had a fight when they came to stop me. " Boreal answered. He wouldn't make it too complicated. "And Derk, this is a special puppy. All it needs is a little bit of magic to keep going and I'll always be able to fix it if it gets hurt." There was something bizarrely endearing about the man-child playing with an Ice-Make Puppy in his cell. Of course, he couldn't risk escape. This wasn't about escaping. This was about befriending one of his captors (The more dangerous and unstable one who was more likely to hurt him). It was all he had.



Vance was very impressed by the young lady. And she was the daughter of Ian Strive? They were old... Powerful once. He heard something happened to them, perhaps she had something to do with it. Not that he was entirely sure as to the nature of the incident. Perhaps he would learn that in time. He should get to know the heiress to the Strive family's name first, and then perhaps he would ask. He was very curious.
"Ah, the Strives. I remember them. A great family, to be certain. What might your name be young lady?" He asked. "And what brings you to this guild if I may ask?"



Because I'm out of time to write a decent post for Dale, he stopped moping and made himself available so they could start the next wave of missions.

 

Kingdom of Elamos​

Johanna had stayed in her dress for the mission, which was taboo for her to do. She sat down on one of the tables and called out. "Alright guys and girls gather around! I hope you brushed up on your royal manners." She shouted excitedly.

"As you know Evanora has some ties to royalty, and so we have been invited to a wedding in the Kingdom of Elamos. Unfortunately, some strange things have been happening with the palace guards lately, and they don't trust them to protect any of the members of the royal family. So we've been given the invitation in exchange for helping out. Isn't that super? They wish for us to travel to the Kingdom before the big day, so we'd better get going."
