Ander's pov:
With Leviathan not saying a word it was time to move on.
"If you ever hurt or try to hurt anyone I will stop you"
He walked away from Leviathan.
What to do now? he thought. Nothing, time to go back to the shadows.
He walked until he was far away from Leviathan.

 

Caliborn couldn't help but notice Mikasa's reaction to putting his hand on her's. She looked a little embarrassed in truth. Why is she so embarrassed? Unless... He started to come to a conclusion about her. Something that would perhaps explain some of her behaviour towards him over the years that they had known each other. He had been trying to puzzle this out for a while but... No, she doesn't does she? If she does... That could be a problem. I should talk to her at some point to get this sorted but equally... I don't want to hurt her as a result of confronting this. Not yet. This isn't the time and I don't know for sure. However, he showed no signs of his internal thinking and simply smiled softly at her, despite her reaction. She would feel even worse if he didn't smile at her and truthfully, he was happy. He did like her. However, before the situation could develop, Silvia started talking.

"Sorry you all got hurt so bad. Is there anything I can do to help? I am pretty good with my healing spell. Oh and I know plenty of herbal remedies to help with pain. I can just also you know get you food or something. Anything to help. I mean I want to help just tell me what to do. I don't mind, really believe me. I like to help."

"Oops... Sorry."

He was about to formulate a reply when all of a sudden, Mikasa's manoeuvre gear hissed and whirred at the twin steel spikes shot out and she flew away, fleeing the scene. He saw that just before she left her face went into that completely expressionless look that she had whenever she was irritated. He raised an eyebrow and watched her go, flying off to her perch that he knew perfectly well that she hid in whenever something like this happened. He wouldn't disturb her however, nor mention that he had noticed up there a couple of times over the past few years and later figured out by the holes that her gear left in the walls that she was going there. It wasn't common knowledge. Caliborn was confident that he was one of two people that could find her- The other being Evanora of course. He'd be truly surprised if there was something she didn't know.
"Don't worry about it Silvia, Mikasa and I will be fine, although you appear to have startled her a little." Caliborn answered gently, careful not to sound too abrasive. He knew Silvia was sensitive at the best of times so he took the necessary cares to avoid hurting her feelings or setting her off. "Besides, I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but healing magic has it's limits. Right now, my body needs to heal itself a bit more before magic can help, otherwise Evanora would have helped us already. Ezekiel's attack was... Powerful. Thank you for offering though."




Dale had walked away now, as he had nothing else to attend to with the guild master and besides... He wanted to find Johanna and make sure that she was okay. She had to be right? She wouldn't have got hurt out there... He hoped. Thinking about her reminded her of the disagreement that they had the other day. Damn it why did you have to do that Johanna? Why couldn't you just understand me? He felt more disappointed than he did angry. I don't want to be disappointed with her. I need to go find her, see if she's okay and then do something about that. Maybe even take the damn responsibility for what she did even if I don't believe it myself. It doesn't matter. If it fixes things with her then... Anything. With that, Dale looked around and waited. Sure enough she appeared and then spoke with Evanora. Okay, she's not doing anything right now. Now's the time to do something. Dale walked over to her, smiling at her the best he could.
"Are you alright?" He asked. "How did it go out there?"



"Um, thank you..." She replied confusedly as Ander came over, complimented her and then left as quick as he came. That was weird, what's with him? She watched him to see where he was going, but only to be more confused as he approached that new guy Leviathan, said something or another and then walked off. What is he doing? Is he just walking around aiming to say things to everyone in the guild but not actually have a conversation with them? She shook her head and looked around for Skadi. She seemed nice and well, Alessia was concerned for her. Everyone went out to fight... I hope Skadi didn't get hurt too much. We'll have to catch up when I find her... Alessia sat down, watched and waited for her to appear, getting a little bit more worried the longer she didn't show up.

 

"It was alright. No causalities, a few people knocked out but other then that." She shrugged coldly. She stood awkwardly, playing with her necklace.

 

"Good, glad to hear it." Dale said, frowning slightly. This isn't going well. She hasn't reacted like this very often. I don't remember the last time she was like this, maybe she hasn't been before at all. At his side, Dale's fingers on his right hand started moving as he fidgeted awkwardly. This is nowhere near what I'd hoped. At least nobody got seriously hurt though. "Is there... Something wrong?"

 

Guild Hall:



Ander's pov:
He continued to walk around. he found himself standing by the med cots now.
When Calborn said "Besides, I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but healing magic has it's limits. Right now, my body needs to heal itself a bit more before magic can help, otherwise Evanora would have helped us already. Ezekiel's attack was... Powerful. Thank you for offering though."
"Calborn is right about healing magic, Silvia. Some things can not be healed. No madder how powerful the mage is.
I know healing people is your thing but some things you can not heal."
Ander said the last part like he had experience with this.

 

She walked forward, continuing to poke him in the chest at the end of each phrase "Other then you blowing your top at a Guild Member, and acting half your age? No Dale, I'm perfectly fine." Her eyes were like daggers cutting into him. She threw her arms down. "Are you looking to start a fight? You're good at that." She crossed her arms, turning away from him.

 

Dale's temper nearly flared right then with that comment of her's and the incessant prodding. He exhaled deeply, almost growling and inhaled just as loudly, clenching his fists. He closed his eyes to try and grab some measure of composure. Don't lose your temper this is Johanna! Doesn't matter if it's some stupid bloody guild guy but this is Johanna we're talking about Dale! He looked her in the eyes and with as level a voice as he could muster, he began to speak.
"No Johanna I'm not here to start a fight." Dale started. He was suppressing the urge to do something rash, as best he could. Damn it Johanna why are you doing this? For that arrogant, stuck up twit of a wizard? For him? What did he ever do for you? "I'm trying to talk to you and have a nice conversation because you know what- I was worried about you getting hurt out there. I know you can look after yourself so don't even try that card on me, but I worry anyway- Because I care. And you know what, I come over, completely genuine and you tell me about starting fights sitting there oh so high and mighty on your high horse doing just that? And then you have to hurt me, embarrass me and then have no sympathy for the fact that he baited me into that too I might add. I just asked him a question and then he was the one that started being a dick about things, not me Johanna, it wasn't me that time! I didn't like the look of him, but I wasn't the one who started getting snappy and snarky." He just finished when he realised something- He'd raised his voice and was gesturing wildly, almost violently the whole time. He blinked, looked at her, looked at the ground and then back at her, before dropping his arms, turning and walking away.
"**** it never mind. I'll see you whenever we go out to fight this Ezekiel guy." He said coldly and started to walk away from her, trying to force the sadness that was overtaking him back down. Why is she doing this to me? Why? I love her, and care about her and I just want to talk to her but she just won't let me... Maybe I should go find that person I brought in- No wait bad idea. Girl's dorms. Ah **** what do I do? Not letting the whole ****ing guild see this! No ****ing way!

 

Johanna was speechless. She groaned irritably. "You're impossible!" She yelled after him. She turned around, and made a B-Line for her room. She walked into her clean bedroom, with the huge window and the white Victorian style decor. The window no longer held the beautiful view it once did, now the city was in chaos. She could see other members of the Guild down below, fighting in the town. She was able to see the garden still, unharmed by the madness. The vines still hung from the top of the window, along with the beautiful flowers all over the room. It made her smile slightly. She sat on her bed near the window, and sighed heavily. The birds in the cages didn't sing, seeing Johanna's mood so different from usual. She saw her Music Box, but couldn't find it in herself to open it. She lied there on the bed, tears streaming down her face. The birds started to sing again. "How is it you sing?... Anything.." She asked. "How is it you sing?" Her voice was almost silent now.

 

Dale stormed out the guild hall kicking open every door that had the misfortune to be in his way, trying to hide as best he could how upset he was. Why is she doing this to me? Why? I didn't hurt her? What's this for, all the times I teased her when we were younger? I thought we were well past all that! Why, why, why! He finally made it to his room and lucky for him too- He couldn't hold his tears back much longer. He swung the door open and slammed it so hard the echo of it could be heard from some distance away and the door cracked at the impact of it, shooting a line horizontally across the door. He walked over to his bed and punched the wall as hard as he could, making a dent and causing chips of paint to flick off and cover the ground.
"Why won't you let me love you?" He demanded of the silence of the room around him. Naturally, it didn't answer. He flopped on to his bed and then let the tears flow out finally, letting them roll down his face as he stared at the ceiling. This is ****. After all this time, this is what she does to me? What do I have to do to show her that I love her and not hate me so much? What does she want from me?
"I'm going to... I'll... I'll-" He wept. He let his body slump, going completely limp. "I'll make it up to you..." He then lay down and stared blankly at the plain ceiling, looking for some idea, some answer in the surface above, not that he found any. The air nor the walls ever seemed to provide answers for any questions other than silence and nothingness.

 

Guild hall

Jack's pov: He had to find Caliborn, he needed to find out something. He walked around and found him, but he appeared to be talking to someone. He waved at him to come over and talk to him. He didn't want to interrupt him.

 

Guild Hall:



Ander's pov:
"Y-yeah I know that... That is why I offered herbal remedies to, they help with pain. My mom used to run a medicine shop and I helped with it so I learned all about how to make these different remedies. I just have to find the right ingredients and-"
"Sorry."
"Perhaps I should just go."
Silvia said
"You need to stop apologizing, there nothing to be sorry about."
He had a sense that Silvia had picked up on the fact that he was talking from experience.
Had he said to much.
He looked at the key around his neck.
"I wish magic could heal all."
He seemed so sad.

 

"Thank you Caleb. Soon I will organize with Johanna room and board for you. You are all dismissed. Feel free to rest up." Evanora told them. She glared at Jack, who walked away before she dismissed him. How rude.

 

With the advent of the large creature that the vile Necromancer had summoned, the group seemed as if they would be in a kind of peril. However, the team had completely pulled through. They had given it their all and with it, the arbiter of death had fallen. Charlotte felt some sense of satisfaction in defeating Orpheus, almost as if this had been a long standing goal to bring him down. Regardless, with the fight done, the group had all done their own victory poses, which for Charlotte involved flourishing her blade and then finally sheathing it. While they had proven their strength in this trial, not only as individuals but as a team as well, she agreed with Ra that it would do them well not to be complacent in their strength and take on Ezekiel right away. As such, she was all for taking a momentary rest and regrouping with the rest of their guild. It was then that Thomas had spoken, directed at her and oh so carefully tip toeing around saying her name, about how he would boast about this fight and have all the ladies swoon over him for it. Charlotte gave an unamused look towards the boy saying, "yes, I am sure they will think you are the most "badass" member of the guild. Especially when they hear that of the five of us, you seemed to have been the only one who went down at any point during the fight." With a slight grin on her face she said, "nevertheless, we all preformed admirably here. Now let us return to our guild." With that, Team King had left the area, leaving the enemy guild behind for the time being.

Upon arrival, she had noticed that the rest of the guild members had seemed to have been finished with their fight, and all seemed to be alive and present. Walking over to their Guild Master, Evanora, Charlotte had begun her report on what had happened. "We have returned from our assault on the enemy's base. Along the way we ran into a man by the name of Orpheus who had been one of the four elite mages of Ezekiel's, and he also seemed to be the source of the undead that the enemy seemed to poses. We fought against him and emerged victorious with no real issues to be reported. That is all." With that, her report was done.

"Ah, so you're well versed in being what we would call an apothecary where I come from. Curious." Calborn said, folding his arms and sitting up on the bed that he lay on. She has an impressive range of knowledge when it comes to healing. Most people don't bother with herbcraft and try to stick to what little options we have with magic. Perhaps we can find a use for those talents in the guild? I'll approach Evanora about investigating that possibility some time soon- Certainly after this situation is over and I can walk. It was always in good spirit Caliborn thought, that if you had a talent that you could contribute it to the guild sometimes. For example. he had an aptitude for hunting so he occasionally would go out to the wilds and hunt game, whatever he came across really and bring it back to the guild for a good meal. "You would be a good person to go out on missions where people are in danger, so you can use your talents to help them if they're injured. Not everyone likes magic, but they'll always accept the local herbalist's cures and remedies. There's a certain perceived omnipotence to them. To hear some people tell it, they'd say that people good with their herbal remedies can cure death itself!" Caliborn chuckled a little at the thought, but turned serious as Silvia's expression changed and she began to look sad, suggesting that she should go.

"Sorry."
"Perhaps I should just go."

He looked at her in the eyes with the most gentle look that he could muster.
"Don't worry Silvia. There's no need to leave if you don't wish to do so. You're certainly not bothering me nor Ander." He said softly. "If I may ask Silvia, would you be willing to use your talents with herbs to help the guild? It wouldn't be too stressful and not very often, but on occasion it might be useful- Perhaps something prepared for a certain mission that would require it?"

 

Evanora was surprised at Charlotte's initiative, but would expect nothing less from someone as similar as Cassandra. "Thank you very much." She smiled. "I'm glad to see such strong members form a bond like yours."

Team King had made their triumphant entrance back into the guild hall and other than Charlotte telling how they faced and defeated Orpheus, Thomas had given his own slightly untrue version of what had happened. "Last I check, you sat back and watch me, Ra and Gaius take down a good chunk of the undead. Your welcome by the way." Veilen made sure to pat Thomas's back as he walked by in as if he was saying 'you tried'. That said as from being knocked down from a delayed attack via the champion, he was helpful in the battle against Orpheus, but telling him that would kill how he just teased him. So he kept that information to himself.

 

Guild Hall:



Ander's pov:
"You would be a good person to go out on missions where people are in danger, so you can use your talents to help them if they're injured. Not everyone likes magic,
but they'll always accept the local herbalist's cures and remedies. There's a certain perceived omnipotence to them.
To hear some people tell it, they'd say that people good with their herbal remedies can cure death itself!"
Caliborn said.
The key around Ander's neck started to glow a purple.
How could Caliborn say such a thing. What a stupid thing to say.
"You are wrong Caliborn." Anger in his voice but seemed to soften as he thought.
"no magic or herbalist's can cure the dead." Ander said this like he had tried.
"Some things can not be fixed or helped as much as you would like them to be." Sadness filled his voice.
"Bryce"
Ander started walking away from Caliborn and Silvia. A saddened look on his face.
If magic or herbalist's could cure the dead Bryce would still be here and he would have saved at least one person on that mission.
He would not be cursed and most likely would not be here.
Everything happens for a reason. right?
What was the reason he was sent here? He did not doing anything that great so far.
Ander continued to walk away.
Did Caliborn know something that he did not.
He read so many books.
He found many books on bringing back the dead but all of them were dark magic and not worth it.
Was Caliborn willing to use dark magic.
He could not let him.
Ander saw what it did to people is was not good thing to see.


Guild Hall:



Sara go up from her cot.
She could not believe her ears the dead coming back to life it was not possible. She wished it was so. The man she killed would be alive.
That man Ander he seemed to know a lot of information involving magic.
How did he know so much. He was or looked young.
Ander Clearly tried to cure the dead. Someone by the name was Bryce. Who was this Bryce? She was curious.
She stood right by Caliborn.
Then she went back to staring at her weapon on the floor.
What should she say to Caliborn ? Shyness was getting to her.
What to say.
Ugghhr.

 

Calxiyn giggled as she heard Thomas and Velien. "I'm sure it was very fantastic." Calxiyn chimed in, her voice like a bell. "It sounds like a wonderful story. I'd like to hear." She laughed, taking a sit across from him. It wasn't like she had anything particularly better to do, plus she wanted to get to know everyone, and if the least she could do was listen to them she didn't mind that too much. She moved a stray strand of hair from her face and tried to smile.
