Therity noted Johanna's shock at them not needing help. Pssh. Nobody will need help as long as I'm around. Nothing can get past me, she thought as she brought up the rear of the procession that was headed to the guild hall. Never know when someone can turn on you. Therity wanted to be prepared if it ever happened. (Not that she thought it would; She doubted anyone in their right mind would ever attack her.)

 

Shortly after the battle..​

As the attacks came at Alastor, he did his absolute best to avoid them, but exhaustion prevented any swift movement, and so each of them hit home. Surprisingly after all the attacks, Alastor was still standing. He was breathing heavily and he was hunched over, almost crouching, but he wasn't unconscious. "You think..you think beating me is going to save your guild, don't you? You don't understand, none of you do. Ezekiel..has magic that cannot be stopped, magic that will destroy all that it touches. If he wants your guild dead, then you need to leave and find a different one, because nothing will stand in that man's way. I had hoped that after all this time, I could learn his magic, learn the way it works, and then find a way to stop it. If I had beaten you, then with your magic I may have stood a chance, but by beating me you destroyed your only hope!" the mage shouted, before going into a coughing fit.

After his coughing had stopped, he fell backwards and onto the ground, his body no longer being able to hold him. He wasn't going to die; his injuries weren't that severe, but he would not be able to fight any longer. At the age of eighteen, on the day he had lost his sister, he had been told one thing by her:

"Never stop trying, Alastor. You have the potential to do so much good. Study the magic you and others have, and then use it to stop the wars, to stop all the fighting, and bring the world the peace that I so wanted to see with my own eyes"

As he lay there, simply staring into the sky, he couldn't help but shed a tear as the last bit of strength left his body.

"I'm sorry, Keira.." was all he got out before some of his opponents left, and Alastor Nex slipped into the realm of unconsciousness.


Meanwhile..



Yana Aegrum had been completely and utterly defeated. No longer was that sadistic smile on her face, no longer was she cackling like the witch she was. The girl had used most of her magic trying to kill the people before her, and yet she had failed. The creatures would live to see another day, for there was nothing she could do about it. Unless....maybe there was a way after all. Standing up slowly, Yana looked at the group, and if they were paying attention they would see that the small shred of sanity Yana had maintained in her eyes had vanished. Gone were the eyes of a sadistic murderer, now only those of a psychopathic sorceress remained.

"You guys...are so boring. So boring, so veeeeery boring. No fun, no games, only clinging onto life. It sickens me. You all think you've won, but you're wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong! I don't care what happens, I'll kill you! I'll kill you all, every last one of you is going to die here and now! Screw what Ezekiel wants, I'll kill him too if he tries to stop me! BECAUSE I'M YANA AEGRUM, AND EVERYTHING I WANT DEAD WILL BURN FOR ETERNITY!" the girl shrieked like a banshee, releasing a loud and high pitched cackle as the ground around her began heating up.

Hotter and hotter the area got, until black flames began forming around the girl. The flames began rising in intensity and heat, becoming more dangerous by the second, until Yana flung her arms forward with a look that made even the most insane madman seem as though he were completely normal. "Now go! Turn them to ashes!" she cried.

But they didn't.

The flames didn't stop the growth in power, and they didn't leave their caster, either. They continued expanding, getting larger and larger and wrapping themselves around the girl. Yana had well and truly lost control of her magic, and she was about to pay the price. Higher and higher they climbed, until the girl was nothing but a writhing mess of black flames and melting skin. Screeches and screams of agony could be heard coming from the young witch, but they only lasted for about a minute before they stopped and there was no longer anything before the group, save for a smouldering, charred corpse that had once been Yana Aegrum.


Yana was dead. After everything she had put them through, after all the pain that she had caused Skadi throughout her life, here she was dead in front of the ice mage. Skadi should have been overjoyed, she should have felt a huge sense of relief, but she did wasn't, and she didn't. All that she could feel was sadness. It was strange, really. The one who had caused the most suffering to her was dead, and she was upset. Ignoring Johanna telling them to go back, the girl said nothing but instead walked over to the corpse, where she knelt down on the ground in front of it. Over and over again the screams echoed in her ears; the sounds of a dying witch.

A tear was shed, only to evaporate instantly due to the fierce heat. Most of the time, magic was a blessing and she was thankful for it, but after seeing firsthand the pain it could inflict upon someone...she wasn't so sure. She turned to her side to see Caleb stepping next to her, worried look on his face. She gave a fake smile, trying her best to look happy, but it soon broke down and she found herself sobbing, face against Caleb as she did so. "She caused me so much pain and yet..I would never wish this upon anyone, not even her. Is this what happens to people that can't control their magic? Will I freeze and die if I fail a spell? Why does magic do this, Caleb?" the ice mage asked.


For a moment, Caleb said nothing, simply standing there in shock. He wasn't surprised Skadi was sad over the death of Yana; he had known Skadi most of his life, and he knew that she was a gentle soul. He doubted very much that there was anything anyone could do for Skadi to wish them dead. Although, for her to break down sobbing like this..he hadn't seen it coming. He wondered what he should say. "Skadi...where she is now, no hurt can be inflicted. Nothing can hurt her, and she won't be killing anyone else" the man said, before squatting down and hugging her tightly. "And if you fail a spell and it goes horribly like that, I'll find a way to stop it. I don't care what happens to you, I promise I'll protect you from anything bad. If magic goes wrong, I will repel it, If you get sick I will be there to help you get better, and if Gaius pisses someone off and they want revenge...well then I'll fight them off and make sure Gaius gets the lecture to end all lectures" Caleb said, causing Skadi to laugh just a little. He held out his hand, offering to help her up, which she accepted. The two then made their way back to the guild, both a little shaken up but feeling a bit better now that they were with each other once more.​

The battle against Alastor had finally ended and some of the other guild members had already gone back. Zwei may have still been standing, but he was still feeling quite a bit of pain as a result of the fight, so he wasn't going to be able to move as quickly as the others would. That was only part of the reason why he'd stayed behind for a bit. Despite Alastor briefly being able to stand, he was definitely in no condition to fight. Instead he went on to say how that by beating him they'd destroyed their only hope. That didn't make much sense to Zwei. His magic definitely was stronger then their's and he knew more advanced spells too. So why would he need their magic to defeat Ezekiel? There wasn't much time to ask Alastor about this, though he probably wouldn't have even if there was enough time to do so, for being falling back and losing consciousness he muttered an apology to someone named Keira. Who was this Keira person and why was he apologizing to her, Zwei didn't know. Again there wasn't much time to ask question, especially now that he'd lost consciousness. So despite these questions still being on his mind, he ignored them for now and headed back to the guild.

That didn't go too badly. Alastor was down within moments of Ren and Mizuki entering the fight, and he hadn't managed to do any damage. Wonderful! The man wasn't quite out of it yet though... Alastor apparently had a few parting words. Words that were quite interesting.
"If you needed our magic, you could have asked for it," Ren told him, not entirely sure if Alastor could even hear him at this point. "I for one would have given it to you." He shrugged, and turned away, leaving the unconscious wizard for the authorities to deal with. "Too late now, we'll have to deal with this a different way."
He left Alastor behind, trying to focus on the task ahead... whatever that was. Arriving late to the battle meant that Ren had no clue what the hell was happening, but from what the enemy wizard had said, it seemed as if someone called Ezekiel was also attacking the guild. And Keira... who was she?

~Later, at the Guild Hall~

Mizuki had made her way back to the guild hall, keeping an eye on Ren, and had even looked around to see if now would be a good time to take him out. There had been too many of the other guild members around, however. She would have to bide her time, for now. It bothered her although that she hadn't dispatched of him earlier when she'd had the chance. Such an opportunity might not present itself again.
Before long they'd arrived at the Guild Hall, and Evanora was requesting a report. Not that Mizuki was the one to give it, and besides, she couldn't give a complete one. "Myself and the other guy," she motioned over to Ren, "charged in at the last as backup. One of the original team should give the report. The ones who didn't go down, that is," she stated, looking over at Silvia and Alessia. "We don't want any holes in the report."

 

"Who is Keira...?" She asked, sheathing her weapon and watching Alastor collapse. She immediately felt something under the anger... She wasn't sure what it was. Sorrow? He had tried to kill them... Yet... Somehow... He seemed to want to defeat Ezekiel. But why? Why couldn't he have just joined them instead? Why did he need to hurt anyone...? If he wanted their magic so badly then if he hadn't attacked them then he could well have got it... She'd have been happy to show him what little she knew about air and healing magic, but he didn't give them a chance did he? She closed her eyes and sighed... Why so much needless hurting? She turned and walked away. It was all there was to do now. Maybe they could pick up Alastor later, but for now they needed to head back to Evanora to sort out what happened. She'd want to know undoubtedly and assuming that there were no other enemies, it would be time to face this Ezekiel soon- And they'd need the full power of the whole guild to face such an enemy that they were faced with.

 

Guild hall:



Sara's pov:
She opened her eyes with a startled look. Her weapon lay a the foot of her bed. She sat up and just stared at the weapon.


locket:
When the battle happened with Alastor the locket became open. Inside was two pictures one of a young girl with long blond hair. She looked around the age of 10. The other picture was of a older man that did not resemble the girl in the other picture in any way.
A peace of blank paper also layed inside.
The locket layed in side Ren pocket open.

Sara:
She felt something wrong.
She looked to her right. Caliborn was talking to Mikasa. To her left layed Edric
Fear was in her eyes what to do about her cursed bow she thought.

 

Ra used cure on Thomas

 

Charlotte used Excalibur on the Arbiter. However, Charlotte didn't have Excalibur. So Quick Blitz will have to be used in its stead.

 

Having not been there for the incident with the team killing, the not injuring each other mark went right over her head. I'll ask about it later. Clearly, nobody else wanted to talk. Zwei, Beucette and Sara were knocked out for most of it... Ren and that girl just showed up and that leaves me or Silvia, and she's too nervous to talk. She looked up at Evanora and smoothed down the front of her shirt out of a feeling of formality and that she should make herself look presentable when explaining to the guild master herself what had occurred.
"Alastor appeared and challenged us after we fought some flying rocks and lasers. He seemed to want to learn about our magic, and when we defeated him he started talking about wanting our magic so that he could beat Ezekiel I think. And then, he apologised to someone called Keira. We didn't see anyone so, I guess it must be someone he knew." Alessia explained. She folded her hands over each other as she finished and looked around at everyone. "Is that it guys? I think so." I hope she's happy with us. We came back and alive and we beat Alastor, so I guess she will be right?

 

Gaius used Quick Blitz on Orpheus. It did 3 damage, but with Strength, Speed and Weapon it did 32!
Velien used Thunder on Orpheus. It did 6 damage, but with Magic and Weapon it did 24! It did 12 damage to surrounding enemies.
Ra used Cure on Thomas. It healed 20 of his HP.
Thomas used Thunder on Orpheus. It did 6 damage, but with Magic and Weapon it did 28! It did 14 damage to surrounding enemies.
Charlotte used Quick Blitz on Orpheus. It did 3 damage, but with Strength, Speed and Weapon it did 27.

All together the group did 112 damage to Orpheus, and 22 damage to other enemies.

She nodded, listening to Alessia's story. "Very interesting. Thank you very much, you are dismissed. Feel free to rest up." She said. She saw another group come in right after, with Lucia, Therity, Caleb, Jack and Skadi. "All of you are still standing, that's wonderful." She said, her heart filled with joy. "I would like a full report from one of you, but from the looks of things there might not be much to say, congratulations."

 

The group stood victorious over the mighty beast. While it seemed incomplete, it had been a force to be reckoned with nonetheless. The golden clad man walked over to Orpheus, who lay on the ground in defeat. His foul spells were broken with his defeat, and the sun shone from over the horizon with the coming of a new dawn. The necromancer looked up at the man above him in wonder. How had he been defeated? "Now then, Necromancer. I send you crawling back to your master with a message. Tell him that this guild is not one to be trifled with. Despite his power, he will see himself fail. None will ever eclipse us! He has chosen the wrong guild to start a war with. He brought this fight to our doorstep, so it's only right we return the favor. Tell him...we come for him." The cloth of his armor blew in the wind, giving him a regal appearance as he spoke.

The five of them stood in the light of a new day. They had fought through the darkness of the night and emerged triumphantly. While their greatest challenged still lay ahead, this victory was theirs, and they had won it without interference from an outside source. Ra turned to the other four of them. "You fought valiantly, all of you. Admittedly i had my doubts at first, but now i have seen your true capabilities. That uncertainty is washed from my mind. You are the perfect choices for this team. None will stand in our way along the road to glory. Each of us alone is a force to be reckoned with, but only once we come together does our true power shine through to the surface for all to see. Together, we will be invincible. I have faith in that." Ra spoke with certainty and pride. Pride not only in himself, but in his comrades. He believed every word he said. He believed in them.

"Come. The battle has been hard fought. Let us return to the guild momentarily and regain our strength. We should inform the others of Orpheus' defeat. We should regroup before we proceed onward. There will be more trials ahead." Trials. That wasn't the end of what he had to say, but he didn't continue. He didn't need to. There were trials ahead, but there was no reason for worry. They were trials to be faced together, and so, defeat wasn't possible. They were the team which was the crown jewel atop all others. They were the strongest. They were Team King.​

Once Orpheus had gone down, Gaius noticed that Thomas was trying to look epic by doing a cool victory pose. It would have probably worked too, but he was doing it all wrong. Clearly he needed someone to show him how it was done. Literally leaping to Thomas' side, Gaius crouched down and held up one of his hands, allowing flames to form around it as he stretched out his other arm just like he did in the banner. "That's what you get for thinking you could beat Team King and trying to turn me into a zombie!" he shouted, declaring victory.

After Ra had given the epic speech that made Team King sound absolutely badass and everything, Gaius couldn't help but agree. Despite his dislike for Thomas, everybody had worked well together, maybe they were cut out for a team. "Phew, he just did not want to go down did he? Surprised you guys kept up with me, I guess there really is a first time for everything huh?" the redheaded mage asked rhetorically. He wanted to go ahead and kick Ezekiel's butt, which he was sure they could do given that they were Team King, but at the same time the others needed to know who the top dogs were. They probably knew already, I mean it was kinda obvious after how well they all fought, but still..a little gloating never hurt anyone so long as they didn't do it in front of someone like Mikasa.


"Well, there really isn't that much to say about it" Caleb said, taking a seat nearby the guild master. "We found a young witch called Yana Aegrum. Myself and Skadi had a run in a long time ago, and she caused a lot of problems for us, in fact that's probably why she was so eager to see us dead today. However, despite her magic we defeated her. She wasn't able to accept it though, and she tried to use a magic far too powerful for herself, and it turned on her. There was nothing we could do to stop it, the flames consumed her and...we won't be seeing her again" Caleb said. His report was fairly short, but it explained things about as well as he was willing to say.​

The necromancer had finally gone down, thus leaving Team King as the last ones standing as well as the victors. It was the position that they had earned after all. Despite everything that Orpheus had sent at them, minion, champions, undead, the giant abomination that they just defeated, they defeated them all. That just left them heading back to the guild, but first can the obligated end of battle victory pose which both Gaius and Thomas had already done.

While he wasn't able to fully replicate those pose that he was doing in the Team King Banner, mainly cause he didn't have the Decaforce sword (Sooooooooon), but that wasn't the only pose that he could do. So he took his sword and spun it around a few times til he was holding it reverse grip style. Then he turned around, held his sword at a downward angle towards the ground, and held his finger up towards the heavens. Veilen held that pose just until Ra had finished giving his speech. "That just leaves the head honcho left to deal with, but we'll be able to take him. He'll have to deal with us and the rest of our guild." Veilen proudly declared.

 

Guild Hall:



Ander's pov:
Most of the groups returned.
He spotted Alessia. He then walked over to her. "Nice job" He said.
"I wonder if all of this fighting is worth it." Ander said sadly.
Thinking of pointless fighting it was time to give Leviathan a peace of his mind.
He walked away from Alessia. Ander grabbed his mages staff and held the staff in his hand. He started to walk over to Leviathan.
If Leviathan was going to attack him again he would have to be ready.
He would have to fight back. What was Leviathan's problem?
He had enough to worry about without having to deal with Leviathan.
He found Leviathan vary fast after all he did not move that far.
He walked up to Leviathan but keep his distance. After all he would have to be ready if he attack him.
The mages staff still in his hand.
"What is your problem? " If Leviathan gave any sign that he would attack then he would be ready.


Guild Hall:



Sara's pov:
She just sat on her cot starring at her bow on the floor, When a girl came over. Sara thought her name was Silvia.
Silvia then said to Caliborn "Sorry you all got hurt so bad. Is there anything I can do to help? I am pretty good with my healing spell.
Oh and I know plenty of herbal remedies to help with pain. I can just also you know get you food or something.
Anything to help. I mean I want to help just tell me what to do. I don't mind, really believe me. I like to help."
Did the girl not realize that Caliborn was talking to Mikasa. How rude, she thought.
Anger filled Sara. She felt hotter then before. forget and focus she thought.
She looked closer at Caliborn.
There was something about him.
Then She remembered something Caliborn was a weapon guy right? or was he? She thought Caliborn was for a moment but then she thought she was mistaking him for someone else.
If she was going to get help about her bow she would have to talk to him or someone that knew about weapons, but who was that and how to ask?
Maybe she would not have to ask.
Besides she was far to shy to say anything. What she going to do just come out and say.
Hay Caliborn are you interested in a cursed bow?
She thought I don't think so. After all it was not her style to just come out and talk. She never talked not after...
Best not think about that.
So she said nothing. After all Calibrn was talking and that would be rude to interrupt him.
She gave Caliborn a smile.
She would have to talk to him one day. How would she do it?
Sara was not one to ask for help so there was that.
Then She looked around the room once more.
She Spotted Cassandra There was Something about her.
She was able to see the future did that mean she could she the past.
She would hope not then she would know her secret.
She still could not believe she lost her locket.
She then went back to starring at her bow on the floor.

 

Mikasa was shocked and obviously flustered when Caliborn touched her hand. She felt this feeling running through her. She was about to finally say something, when Silvia came over. She nearly jumped out of her skin. She recognized her, she was in her dorm. Mikasa was now white as a sheet. Her bangs covered purposely her eyes, and her hair the redness of her face. Without saying anything, and without a clear expression on her face, she used her maneuver gear to fly out of the Guild Hall. She sat on the highest point of the Guild Hall.
