The Fairy Curse of Laverna: He had lots of questions, but desided to ask the main one first. "Were is Topaz? It sounds like some sort of poison, but it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't a poison. Do you know what exactly is causing this to happen?" He had a feeling it had someting to do with topaz missing but it could be something else. Then he desided to say something to Silvia. "You have sky dragon powers, Quinn do think that would help? I meen we need a more permanent solution other then using esuna or Silvia's sky dragon magic at it."

Aias sat quietly at the table. Without a word, he nodded his head when offered a pie. Delicately, he dug his fork into it, tore off a piece and stuck it in his mouth. Expressionless, he set the fork down and sighed. "It's terrible..." It didn't seem like he'd be finishing it any time soon. Though, pies were far from the reason they'd come here. "If I may, how long have you lived in this building? Did you know the people that lived here before you?"

Vance caught his breath and continued to examine the gate. However, it seemed that in that short time, Thea's attention span had run out and suddenly, there was a problem. The nobleman saw that the area around his daughter had turned into deadly pits of lava. Of course this is what Thea's magic is. Of course!
"Thea!" Vance exclaimed, rushing to his daughter. He ran around the pits of lava in a convoluted course, leaping to patches of ruined stone when necessary. He wasn't terribly agile and he soon began to struggle when he was presented with a series of difficult jumps. The last one had almost caused him to fall in, but he threw himself forwards on to the floor before he could be burned. Luckily his coat repelled a little of the heat. He couldn't keep this up though. He could feel sweat dripping down his forehead and there was a little distance left. "Thea, calm down! You have to stop this at once! I don't think that I can get to you safely!"

After seeing Aias' reaction to the pie, Dale smiled and decided that he wasn't all that hungry despite the long journey. Looking at this place, he didn't think that she could have come from here. This was a mistake. Johanna had been sent incredibly nice gifts, but there was nothing at all that suggested that anything of that quality could have come from this place. It was terrible. Honestly, for the lack of a better word, it was a slum.
"We're here looking for the relatives of someone close to me. She's wanted to find them and well, we think that they might be around here." Dale answered, hoping that she wouldn't notice that nobody else actually wanted one of her pies.

When the five strangers burst in and kissed Calxiyn, obviously unwanted, he put his drink down and strode across the room. His face was serious and he cracked his knuckles, sizing each of them up. It looked like he could take all five of the wee ****ers, not to mention the fact that apparently everyone else thought that this was incredibly weird.
"So, what en tha actual **** brings you pretty boys here? Wha', did someone call in Wrong Direction or whate'er the name es?" Edric demanded. He glanced over at Thomas. "Say, d'ya wanna have a goo an' rough 'em up? After all, yer meant ta be the pretty one around here, not this lot."

Boreal's face was an expression of confusion when he saw the five burst in just as he got downstairs. It seemed that everyone else was equally shocked at this turn of events. Well, he'd have to apologise to Cal for forcing that mask on her later. For now, it seemed that there were some issues with five very strange people. However, looking at them, something seemed off. He could sense something... Some sort of power. The five pretty boys standing in the Guild Hall suddenly didn't seem as funny or random. The ice wizard watched carefully. He sensed that something... Interesting was going to happen. Cal had threatened to get Evanora. He wondered if he should do so himself.

Shani, Florica and Zeph all turned around as Lava came up from the ground and surrounded Thea. Florica and Shani looked helpess as they didn't have any magic.

"Thea!" Shani cried. "Florica, hold my earnings I'm going to jump out to Vance and help him." Shani started, but then Zephyros put a hand on her arm.

"No need for that, watch." Zephyros smiled at Shani as she watched Zephyros walk towards the lava without fear.

"Zeph?!" Shani then started yelling in another language, one that Florica recongize. Zeph glowed for a second, before giant angel wings appeared on Zeph's back.

"This is my magic..." Zeph spoke to the group as Zeph flew to the spot where Thea was, and used the strong wings that had been developed to help pick Thea up. "Nothing like the soul magics, yet similar. An arc of emboiment from within. I can change myself into Animal, Beast, Satan and more then. Usually I just use it for outside appearence, but it does come in handy. Don't be afraid Thea, stay still." Zephyros held Thea within arms that were holding tightly to her with protection. Zephyros put her down near Shani, and then the wings Zephyros had disappeared and Zephyros reverted back to normal.

"I didn't know our Zeph could do that." Shani told the silent Florica, who seemed to be thinking. Shani couldn't help but throw her arms around Thea. "Are you alright, child?"

Seeing everyone else was way too busy with Thea and her lava, Vance even trying to get to her by jumping, well done to him, surviving such a suicidal plan but deciding to throw it out the window after one brush too close with death. He had to give the man credit for trying though, then Zephyros decided to play the hero of the day and turn into an angel to go get Thea, but leaving Vance stranded in the middle of nowhere surrounded by lava, what a guy. "
I hate to rain on your parade, but there's someone else who could probably use a hand as well, just saying...." Conrad said pointing to Vance. He decided it was best to keep on thinking whatever was up with this gate, he considered to take this opportunity to blow it up or atleast force it open, but this situation did give him an idea. "Say.... why do you abandon a perfectly fine defensive structure or defensible position or a home.... by the looks of it it hasn't seen battle therefor to abandon it for that reason is not an option... They had to leave for a reason... Something differently threatening them maybe? A famine? Getting out of the city in the hopes of finding food? Or running from something? I mean you can't run forever so they hide? So that's why it's abandoned? Because they felt like they had to hide from something? Find a shelter for a coming storm so to speak?" Conrad spoke, more thinking out loud than directing it at someone in particular.

"Yes, as Conrad noted you have done a fantastic job of leaving me behind." Vance remarked dryly. He looked around him and cursed Thea under his breath. She needed to learn to get control, because this was just ridiculous. He had to think of a way out of this particular predicament. It was warming up and becoming quite uncomfortable, despite the mild heat-******ant properties of the Phoenix Coat. He looked down as the pools bubbled and felt himself shake. He looked away and crouched down, trying to restore a sense of balance and ease. He had to think of a way out of this. He considered trying his Arc of Time, but he wasn't sure if that would work on magical anomalies like this one. Dark Écriture? Unless he formed a contract with Thea that prevented him from being harmed by her magic, it would be useless. So, he stood upon his rock with a displeased expression on his face. He looked over at Thea. "Please, Thea, stop this. This isn't a game. I am stuck in the middle of this lava area after your 'angel' swooped over on his big feathery wings. Stop your flow of magic. Do something! I'm not sure I'll get back safely!" His eyes flashed to Zephyros.
"Well, what are you going to do? Are you going to just stand there or help? I daresay you're enjoying this little predicament I've got myself in! It's all fun and games, because Vance doesn't matter!" Vance spat. "Even I wouldn't leave you helpless!" He stood up to his full height. He looked over to the nearest spot. He knew that he needed to jump, to move, but he couldn't find it in him. He remembered the heat, the knowledge that he would burn painfully, that on this last jump, he had nearly fallen in. He gritted his teeth. There had to be some kind of way out of here. Maybe he'd just have to try his magic, regardless of the consequences if none of the useless people around would help. He risked a look at Shani, who he was certain he heard say that she would help. He had no words, but he looked at her almost pleadingly. For once, he was worried. He had no idea whether his magic would work against Thea's and he had got himself stranded in a sea of lava his own daughter had created. Vance's knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists hard. I'm a nobleman. I'm not built for this. It's a miracle I made it this far!

Standing in fright Thea heard a voice in her head, something that made her even more nervous. She didn't understand what was going on already and now there was more weird things happening. However this voice was gentle and comforting. It told her that it was her new magic that was doing this. Thea had honestly forgotten that she had got any new magic. She was nervous with the ones she had and was focused on the fire magic, completely forgetting she had a third kind as well. The problem with her forgetting that she had that third magic was, she didn't have any clue how it worked or how to control it.

Thea then watched as Vance tried to come to her rescue. She held her breath with every jump he made. Thea cried out
"Father! No!' as Vance nearly fell in. However this endevour only ended in both of them being stranded and Vance never making it over to her. Instead he spoke to her, telling her to calm down and to stop it. "I don't know how!" The shouted back at him in a shaky voice as she tried to slow her breath, calm it the best she could. However the magic triggered when she was calm and this was were the problem lied. Thea nervously looked around for anywhere to go, any way to get to Vance, only to find herself stranded. "I'm sorry. I am so sorry." Thea told Vance as she kept her focus on him in order to not be too focused on the lava and the additional fear it brought.

Hope was not all lost however when Zephyros sprouted angel like wings and flew over to save her. In his arms she felt safe, but at the same time there was a conflict. She hadn't really liked Zephyros and thought that he was mean, but now he saved her. What was she supposed to think of him now? Thea didn't have time to ponder this thought as Shani hugged her asking if she was alright.
"I-I'm fine. I am not hurt. I just don't know what to do, I am sorry. I am so so sorry." Thea said as she hugged Shani back and rested her tear stained face in the woman's shoulder.

That was when she heard Vance calling for her again. He was pretty much begging her for help and she didn't know what to do. She stopped hugging Shani and turned back to Vance.
"I don't want it to be a game! I don't know what to do! Stop yelling at me! You think this is what I wanted? How do I make it stop?! I am sorry! I don't know what to do!" The young girl was completely in tears now, however her other magics remained in check. The young girl was taking short shallow breaths as she cried, she was having troubles focusing on anything anymore, however that worked to their advantage. The more upset, and confused she got. The more she had to focus on getting enough breath into her lungs, the less she focused on the ground around her. The less she saw the lava. The magic began to flicker and fade, but Thea too had to lower herself to a sitting position. She was hyperventilating and due to this she was bringing herself closer and closer to blacking out, her vision was already spotty. But thanks to that the magic had stopped, making it safe once again for everyone else.

He saw and heard Thea panicking, but he could do nothing wrong where he was standing. He saw Shani running towards him, aiming to help. He smiled at her, and something in him felt deeply relieved. It seemed that their friendship was not entirely lost. She still cared enough to come for him. He took a couple of deep breaths and prepared to jump with everything that he could muster so that she could reach and save him. However, the magic began to flicker. The heat slowly faded and reduced. Patches vanished into nothingness and as Thea collapsed on to the floor, seized by her fear, the magic died away. Vance exhaled a breath that he hadn't realised he was holding and tentatively stepped off his rock. Luckily, there was nothing there other than the normal earth. He began to walk over to Thea to try and reassure her, but first he stopped next to Shani. He looked her in the eyes with a light smile. Not just a thankful expression, but a genuine one.
"Thank you, Shani. For coming." He said as truly as he possibly could. He knew that it wasn't necessary, but he knew that he had to thank her. Because that was right. Because she would have saved him if Thea hadn't collapsed. Nobody else would have helped. Certainly not that fool Zephyros. In fact, he had seen him stop Shani earlier just so he could show himself off. How irritating. There was more that he had to say to Shani, but this wasn't the time/ Perhaps on the way back from their adventure he would talk to her about the immediate issues which plagued his mind, but until then he would wait. Unless of course, the opportunity arose. "Now, I should attend to my daughter. Thank you for looking after her as well. I've seen that you have. It's appreciated. As I'm sure you're aware, she can be a handful sometimes. though she is sweet for the most part." He nodded at her, then drew his arms around the distressed Thea on the floor and lifted her to her feet.
"Come on now Thea, come up, you'll ruin your dress like that." Vance stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. He knelt down and put his hands on her shoulders. "Thea, look at me. Now, I want you to promise that you won't do that again. I want you to always focus on what you're doing. Don't let yourself lose control like that again. Next time, someone might get hurt, okay? You must not let your magic go out of control. Please, just focus on your magic and when you're using it. Can you do that for me?"

"I had faith in Vance to take care of himself. I was afraid he would say I was babysitting him. Damned if I do, damned if I don't." Zephyros' arms were crossed as Zeph wore a smile.

Shani couldn't help but smile at him, though she was still soured because of their earlier interaction, she thought forgiveness would be the best thing. "You're very welcome." She replied as nobility as she could, almost like she was trying to sound like Nessa. Florica then turned to Conrad.

"You're right. This has nothing to do with a battle anymore." Florica said. "We should look around a bit more, maybe there's a storm shelter around here somewhere. I don't think we should go into the gate. We don't know what's behind there and we may all get lost. If anything we should look around a little bit more before we get ourselves into anything. But if THIS is the gate to a city then we're in the country side. I wonder that if that's the case that there are some cottages, or even people out there."

Thea was feeling a bit faint and dizzy but she did her best to calm her breath and stay standing in front of her father. She was still shaky and having trouble breathing properly as she came out of a kind of panic attack. Her vision was spotty but returning to her as she looked up at Vance, reluctantly. "I-I don't know. I was just playing. I don't know how it happened. I will try but it is hard. Daddy told me that the power I had, I shouldn't have until I am much, much older. I don't know what to do about it. Please don't be too mad. I promise I will try, but I can't guarantee that it will work." Thea responded.

It sounded like while Vance was comforting her they had finished examining the gate. Instead of taking lead once again, Thea hung behind, eyes to the ground. She was ashamed and embarrassed about what had just happened. She felt hopeless and like she was the only one to have so much troubles with her powers. She used the defense that she had more magic than she should for her age and her body struggled to contain it, which was true, but she didn't want to hide behind that excuse forever. She wanted to be confident in her magic so she didn't have to fear it forever, but that didn't seem to be happening.

Thea's eyes drifted from Shani to Vance and then back to the ground. The young girl had noticed the awkwardness between the two for the last bit, and she wondered if it was her fault or not. If Vance wasn't sure about her getting close with Shani or something. After all Thea had noticed them staying away from each other and not talking right after the night of the ceremony in which she left the guild hall to talk to Shani. Though Thea couldn't see why that would be a problem. Vance had said he would find her a mother as well and she trusted he would. He had seemed happy with Shani before, so what changed now? Perhaps she would have to ask later, but now was not the time. So instead Thea just thought of the possibilities and what she might say as she hid at the back of the group waiting for someone else to move forward.

As the group had continued to keep searching the area, they had eventually figured out everything they needed to about the area they were in. With that in mind, the group had decided to keep on moving forward and search other areas for clues. The makeshift trampoline was certainly something that stood out, in addition to the large apparently elephant tracks in the ground. Not really what to make sure of the whole situation, she decided to just hear what everyone else had to say. As she did, it became evident that the group was coming to the consensus that the inhabitants had just turned into animals, and that was why they were herbivores and the like, though, Aoki wasn't entirely sure if she was convinced of that. "Remember what he said earlier," she pointed to Antonio, "we don't want to make assumptions, especially ones that'll completely mislead us. So, I'm not saying it's wrong, we should probably just step back from the idea that the island is cursed to begin with."

Putting on a pensive look she said,
"so what we know about these animals so far is that they are definitely moving in an unusual fashion. So I suppose it's a matter of whether or not they're being controlled by people, were people, posses some sort of intelligence, or are just moving around on instinct away from something. While the last one seems the most sensible, it's also the one we've got the least evidence for." She then looked back to Alessia and said, "if the animals posses enough intelligence to build this, chances are they'd probably make it to support the elephant. And seeing as we've already got someone who can turn into an elephant," she pointed to Johanna, "we've got a way to check." She then turned back to Anotnio and asked, "you said that it was weird that we haven't run into any monsters yet, but, what are these monsters supposed to look like? Is it possible that they just got the animals confused for the monsters?"

While she didn't think she was the most motivational of speakers, it had seemed that it worked well enough and the group was definitely ready and able to move through. As they entered the fairy realm, they were immediately greeted by the rather frantic fairy, Elivana. It had seemed that the problem was pretty grave, as apparently their guardian, whatever that meant, was busy being somewhere else, and apparently their entire world was dying for some inexplicable reason. Lucia was, needless to say, a bit confused by the whole thing and figured it'd be a good thing to get some answers first. As such, the other party members of hers had started to ask the things that had immediately come to her mind. Lucia nodded at what Silvia had asked and asked alongside it saying, "yeah, what exactly is it that you expect us to do to save your home?"

Rho sat down alongside everyone else. This place was, for a lack of a better word, miserable. Given that Fleet Street was evidently a slum, he wondered what it was about Johanna that Dale had figured would lead him to this place. Nevertheless, as the group was getting ready to inform the women of what their true purpose was here, she seemed to offer them some nourishments. Rho was not quite in the mood for Ale, as this was the start of their journey, and after seeing Aias's less than pleasurable reaction to it, he had decided to sit out on eating one as well. He simply just sat there, as Dale and Aias stated what they were doing here, and stayed silent for the most part.

Charlotte had been sitting back as Calxiyn and Ra continued to show each other's magics to each other. It wasn't only until a random person had come into the guild hall unannounced, accosted the young red haired female and kissed her that things seemed like they were about to take a change of pace. As more and more started to pile into the room, Charlotte was starting to feel more and more unnerved by their presence. As their antics had continued, it was only stopped by the display of the young Calxiyn's fire magic. Though it would probably be natural for one to be intimidated by someone suddenly causing a table to explode, the more surprising thing that had happened was that they had immediately recognized the magic that was used. No hesitation, no sort of doubt in any of their voices, and all five in complete unison. They had somehow recognized the unique Devil Slayer magic, a magic that no one had ever seen before in this guild, one that was renowned for having the most varied collection of wizards.

There was definitely something off about them, and even their odd knowledge of devil slayer magic aside, Charlotte had a somewhat supernatural sensation tugging at her that just made these five young men seem all the less favorable to her as time went on. Following suit with just about everyone else, Charlotte drew out her blade and the blade seemed to crackle with electricity. With a look of scorn and a scowl on her face, she pointed her blade at the men.
"As both my comrades and I are in no mood to deal with your tomfoolery, it would be wise for you to answer our questions swiftly and precisely. So, what brings a manner of beasts such as yourselves to this guild."

He had the feeling most of his words had fallen on deaf ears and he wasn't far from the truth seeing only Florica seemed to have heard what he had been saying. She apparantly could see the sense in his words and seemed to agree with his theory of something else driving the populace away. He didn't miss what was happening between Vance and Shani. It had been over a week ago now, but it still stung like hell and he fought for control for a moment. A week... did the others he had run into know already? Did Alessia know? By now they may have noticed she hadn't been present, then again people went on missions splitting up the entire guild, he had been on two missions and only after that had run into Alessia, when he got back he'd try to bring the news. Right now however he needed to focus, but he knew deep down that this was going to keep on bugging him for quite a while. Currently standing around doing absolutely nothing he decided to take the lead and see who would follow, if no one followed him he figured he could use the alone time. He wanted to check out that wooded area just north of the destroyed strongpoint before moving on and started walking away.

Shani, Florica and Zeph and the rest of the group headed for the forest, back where they had came from.

Shani leaned back on one of the trees, looking around. "These trees should be taller, but they looked stunted." Shani told the group.

Florica snorted. "Shani, I think there's a bigger problem here, these trees are bright orange."

"So what does that mean, are they not supposed to be this colour?" Zephyros asked.

Florica turned to Zeph. "Well, I'm not exactly an expert, but these are pine trees so I don't think they're supposed to look like this."

"Well," Shani started, turning to Vance at first, but then looking at Thea, Conrad, and Damian. "You're all wizards, is this magic?"

Mission Information: Anything that is underlined in speaking or description is a clue. You can have your character look at it and try attempt to figure out what significance it has. This could be harder or easier depending on what building you have first/last. You can look more in depth at the clues presented. To recap, this is what we know:

    1. The trees have stunted growth
    2. The trees have bright orange bark

    Answer the Question:
Is it Magic? If not, what is it? Use evidence from previous places to help you. In the OOC there is now a collected information post for this mission

I will say if the evidence has been fully "completed" or if there's anything else you could say about the evidence. This may be easier for some characters then others depending on different backgrounds as well as magic. Either way, all of the evidence is important in other to get the maximum amount of points.

"Aoki's right. We got to put aside the Island being cursed for a bit." Johanna told Alessia, Ander, and the rest of the group. "I'll turn into an elephant that fits the footprint size as Alessia and Aoki both suggested, and we'll see. After that I'll do what Beucette suggested and change into a bird." Johanna told them both.

"Hmm... if Ander is right and the curse is in the food, maybe I should try one. If I turn into an animal, at least I can turn into other animals if not my human self for a while."
Johanna pondered this, but left it up for the group to decide. Johanna then went into the footprints of the elephant, getting off the trampoline, and transformed into an elephant she figured based on the footprints would be the same size. She got back onto the trampoline. Even with Beucette and Antonio, it was still letting her bounce for a while. Johanna hopped back down and went into her human self.

"They made this with maximum weight in mind." Johanna
    concluded.

"Well, Frazer, you were here, what DO the monsters look like?" Antonio asked as Aoki wanted to know. Frazer grabbed a sketch.

"Like this." Frazer handed Aoki a picture. Johanna took a look.

    "I've never seen that before..."

Mission Update: Look for the tracks leading somewhere else on the Island

Mission Information: Anything that is underlined in speaking or description is a clue. You can have your character look at it and try attempt to figure out what significance it has. This could be harder or easier depending on what location you have first/last. You can look more in depth at the clues presented. To recap, this is what we know:

    1. The big animal from earlier wasn't a monster, but an elephant.
    2. The elephant was on the beach with the peafowl
    3. There's a giant trampoline here
    4. It was made to hold an Elephant and then some

I will say if the evidence has been fully "completed" or if there's anything else you could say about the evidence. This may be easier for some characters then others depending on different backgrounds as well as magic. Either way, all of the evidence is important in other to get the maximum amount of points.

    The Island Expedition:
He been looking for so fruit and found some. He handed one to Beucette. "Curses are similar to poison, so in theory you should be able to tell if there is anything in the fruit. That said, curses are rather complicated." That was when Aoki said 'I'm not saying it's wrong, we should probably just step back from the idea that the island is cursed to begin with.' "That is why I want Beucette to check the fruit. With her dragon slayer powers it might be possible to detect the curse. If it is not a curse whatever is happening here acts like one." Aoki then said something about people. "If there are people here I get the sense they are a type of 'tribal people'. Fire is said to keep spirits and ghost away. Fire is also been said to keep curses away, so that might be the cause of the fire on the beach." Johanna then suggested she should try a fruit. "No, I rather not risk that. Curses are difficult to get rid of. Johanna if you eat the fruit you might be stuck as an animal forever. You might not be able to use magic at all. It is not worth the risk. While the cure for curses have been the same for some time, people have caught unto the cure and have changed them so they are more difficult to cure. If Beucette can not detect if there is anything in the fruit we will think of something else. There is no need to risk your life for this or your magic" Not when there was other ways, he thought. He then took a look at the so called monster. "That may not be a monster, but a mage with magic. Monster or mage it is not a good thing."

Aoki looked in awe as the vine trampoline seemed to be way sturdier than one would assume. It was interesting to see that the trampoline could hold Johanna's weight as an elephant, and didn't seem to be showing any signs of snapping. She wondered briefly just what this thing's purpose was. It was just a giant, springy collection of vines out in the middle of the forest, meant to be able to hold something of immense weight. Wait a second, was this thing even a trampoline to begin with? It was then that Frazer showed the group a picture of what the monster he saw was. It looked...somewhat unsettling to say the least. Putting on on her thinking cap, or rather keeping it on, Aoki began to try and draw more conclusions as to what was going on here. And then an odd question popped into her head. How much did that monster weigh?

Still having her hand to her chin, Aoki had started thinking out loud.
"What if, instead of a trampoline, that thing is actually meant to hold something really heavy, like a giant net, or trap or something. Also," she then looked back to the two adventures that were their guides for this mission, "we should probably keep on the lookout for that thing. If that thing looks like a tree, then it could be anywhere in this forest right now and we probably wouldn't easily be able to see it." it was at that point that Ander started speaking up about the curse some more, to which Aoki's expression seemed to get a tad confused. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing that he was still on the curse, after all it was just as valid a theory as any right now, but his way to go about testing it seemed a bit off to her.

"Ander," she started, "I'm no expert on curses, or poisons for that matter, but I'm pretty sure immunity to one doesn't transfer over to the other. Like, curses are normally hexes, dark ritual mumbo jumbo stuff, and not...poison...right?" She looked to the others in the group to affirm if she was on the right track of thought or completely off. "Anyway, I think he's right though," she turned to Johanna, "if it does turn people into animals, whether by poison or curse, we don't know what it does beyond that, so trying to live test it yourself would probably be a bad idea." Looking around a bit more, she then figured she probably wasn't going to get anymore by just looking around this area, and started to look for the tracks that the animals would have made as they made it out of here.

    The Island Expedition:
Aoki went on about the trampoline being a trap. "If that was so why is it not active? More monsters are sure to come if there is one. Maybe that tree is not a monster, but a guardian of this place." Aoki then went on about curses, and poisons that immunity to one doesn't transfer over to the other. "You never know. There are things out there that you have yet to see." Aoki then asked about curses and saying that they are normally hexes, dark ritual mumbo jumbo stuff, and not...poison. "Well yes and no, curses have a poison like thing to them. Poison acts on the person, normally it kills them. It is what poison is known for, while the same can not be said about curses. For example there is a curse that puts people to sleep. There is also poison that does the same thing, the only difference is one might, be forever while there a possibility for a cure with the other. Curses are sometimes used as a type of torcher. With a curse Beucette maybe able to tell if there is a curse in the fruit. It does not hurt to try it this way. It is better then the other option of someone eating the fruit. I am not saying it will work, Becuette may not be able to tell one way or another. This way we will know if she can or can not tell if there is a curse. Curse or no curse, being able to tell or not..." He began to walk around looking for footprints. It would be rather simple find the footprints from before and follow them to where they went. He then looked at aoki and said, "whatever it is there are other ways to find the answer even if Becuette can not tell us." He then went back to doing what he was before and that was looking for footprints.

Vance felt a small surge of happiness, or possibly amusement when Shani pitched her voice to a noble tone. Perhaps it was both. She was so unlike his kind that it was amusing, yet it felt like she was trying to bridge a gap by doing so. There was a certain happiness in that he felt. It seemed that her previously bitter attitude had at least started to wear off. He was glad. Having the tension for a long period of time would have been sad. Thea however, was less pleasant. It seemed that she didn't have any real understanding, and she couldn't really control it truly. He knew that before, but he hadn't realised that it was this bad. She wasn't even trying to activate her magic this time. Though something did spring to mind. She was playing? What had she been playing? He wasn't paying attention to her at the time so he didn't notice, but perhaps there was something to it. Many of her magical outbursts were accidental.
"Very well. Try your best. I don't know how to do this exactly, but try to find your magic inside yourself and focus on it. That way, you can't lose control of it." The nobleman knew that it wasn't terribly helpful advice, however he had nothing else to offer as advice as to how she might be able to change the present situation. She really did need a tutor. That much was obvious. He noticed that Conrad started to move out, and seeing no reason not to go as a team, Vance took Thea by the hand and led her after him.

When they arrived, the trees were strange indeed. Bright orange bark? That's far from usual. He wasn't sure of what to make of it. Could it be a magical influence? Yes, it could, however he wasn't positive. He approached one of the trees and placed a hand on it. He called to his magic. His mind was assailed by the infinity of time as he used his magic on the tree.

"I'm going to see whether they have always been this way, or if something changed to cause this unusual colour or growth." Vance stated.

"Do the finer points of curses or poisons really matter guys? Come on, focus." She said, trying to rerail the investigation that Ander had managed to temporarily derail. As far as she was concerned, the only thing to do now was to look for some tracks. She had no idea what other information could be found out about the weird monster vine trampoline that could hold a lot of weight. She looked around the sides of the trampoline, trying to spot a path that whatever was here last might have taken.

Shani watched as Vance turned back the tree. When turned back enough, a completely new tree was in it's place. It was a tall pine tree, and had normal bark .

"So these were normal trees once?" Florica said, putting her hand on the one Vance had changed.

"Does that mean it's magic, or it's not?" Shani questioned.

    3. Vance reverted a tree back to normal. It's normal height and has no orange bark

Thea didn't do much but follow Vance and keep to herself. She had never thought she would see that day in which she would fear something as simple as playing. The stronger she got, the less she wanted the powers she had. She just wanted to be normal. Thea wasn't talking much as they reached the tree's, mostly just listening. However there was the question if it was magic that changed the colour of the trees or not. The could not think of anything natural that would change the colour of the trees and change their growth. "I don't think this could come naturally, so it is very possible it is magic." Thea stated in a quiet tone, not sure if her input was cared for or needed at all.

It seemed that his hunch was in fact, correct. Arc of Time had revealed something very interesting. These trees it seemed, were not entirely ordinary. He folded his arms and considered it.
"I agree with Thea. I don't see any way this could have happened without magic. Certainly not by natural causes. Even if this were some natural disaster, I believe it would have merely damaged the tree rather than change the structure of it entirely, as we have seen here." Vance stated. It seemed to him that there was no further business here, so it was probably time to move on. He had noticed something near the ship out of his peripheral vision, but had not the time to investigate it because Thea ran on ahead. Now would be an opportune time to investigate it he felt, considering that they needed to go around the rocky formation nearby regardless.

Going to the yellow circle near the ship.
