In The Times Of Fairy Tails

The week on the boat for Zephyr was spent with him looking out to sea while occasionally having a black flame appear in his hand. For someone who's always traveled by foot, this was quite the new experience for him. Plus the seas were relatively calm which made his action of staring at it all the better.

The group had arrived on land and thus they could start looking around. First it was suggested that they spilt up, to which Aoki had suggested going to the peninsula. Thus the group ended up going that way. So much for spilting up. Also Beucette had a freak out over something, not to sure what though.

"I can try." Zephyr approached the fire pit and examined it. He begun to compare what he saw there to what he remembered seeing when he'd magically burned some. "The fire doesn't look like it was made with magic." He said, having reached his verdict.

Taking into account the spears and the none magically made fire pit, maybe something tribal had occurred here, like a sacrifice or something. While a possibility, it didn't account for the lack of human footprints and the bird footprints that were found. So maybe they were eating instead, still didn't explain the lack of human footprints. "Maybe whatever was cooking here attracted some unwanted attention and whoever was here had to leave in a hurry." Zephyr guess, which at this point was nothing more than a shot in the dark.

 

Ander's pov:



The Island Expedition:
There was something about the tracks. He looked to Alessia who seemed to be disappointed. "fruit grow in the dirt for the most part on is sand." The fire tuned out to be not magical. "Alessia, Earth magic might be useful here. Do you think you can make (insert unit of measurement the rp uses here) long rock formation. We can use it to get the size of the birds that live here and it might give us a clue on what happened." He was taking a guess he had no clue if this would help them or not

 

"I don't know how that'll help. I mean, we're talking about a peacock right? I'm sure that Antonio knows how big they are I don't see how that would help." Alessia pointed out. Really, she wanted to look somewhere else. They were all getting caught up with this whole beach thing, so she wanted to move on. What else was there to find here? She sure as hell couldn't see it. ​

 

The Island Expedition: On The Island​

"Maybe that's why they made the fire. You don't normally have to 'cook' fruit. Maybe the fire WAS for protection." Antonio considered, replying to Ander. "And if it wasn't made by magic, I'm assuming that the villagers here don't have magical powers. If they did it would be widespread through the population since there wouldn't be a lot of them. Good job, Zephyr."

"You're right Alessia. I think our best idea would be to go deeper inside of the forest and see if we can find anything. Maybe they're in trouble." Johanna crossed her arms.

"So this is what we've pieced together so far:


Whoever is on the island don’t seem to eat meat, it’s clear because no one would travel all the way to the ocean just to eat fruit that’s all over the island, but we've agreed it's not that weird they'd eat over here after all. There seems to be only a handful of people that came here as well, as there aren’t enough spears left behind. The fact they left the spears here means they went somewhere else and trusted they wouldn’t disappear, which could mean this area is visited a lot by them. Since not for hunting, like a few of you said they must be used for defense. If anything, leaving them could have been because they were afraid of the monster that attacked them, if they were attacked at all. We don't know if anyone here was human, but we DO know there was a peacock, and peacocks aren't normally by the beach. That could mean it's one of the pets of someone on the island, or something, like a monster, may have driven it over here. They also seemed to be playing some sort of game, which show that these are either very intelligent animals or humans. We need to go deeper into the forest to figure out where these people went, and if they're okay." Johanna pieced everything together based on what the others had said. "Let's go deeper into the forest, like Alessia said!"


"Onward, adventurers!" Antonio announced.

Johanna followed the tracks with the rest of the group. "Well... it looks like, uh, it's a giant trampoline? Made out of vines and plants?" She looked in the dirt. This time the big tracks seemed to clearly be that of an elephant and a peacock. Johanna was confused to say the least. "I've turned into an elephant before, I think the tracks here are the same."

"So that giant animal we thought chased them away was an elephant? An elephant that came to the trampolines?..." Johanna sat down on it, before she bounced up into the air. "Oh-!" She exclaimed as she bounced. Antonio joined her. "Well, with this now, what does this mean?"

Johanna continued to bounce. "Well, maybe we don't see any human tracks because their Elephant is a mode of transportation. That's all I can think of. Anyone else?"

"This is getting curious, where are all the monsters?"

Mission Information: Anything that is underlined in speaking or description is a clue. You can have your character look at it and try attempt to figure out what significance it has. This could be harder or easier depending on what location you have first/last. You can look more in depth at the clues presented. To recap, this is what we know:

1. The big animal from earlier wasn't a monster, but an elephant.
2. The elephant was on the beach with the peafowl
3. There's a giant trampoline here

Lastly, if your character has an idea of what this area could be, make sure to mention it but let other characters look at the evidence pieces and add to it.

I will say if the evidence has been fully "completed" or if there's anything else you could say about the evidence. The City of Ember: On The Island​

The group continued walking to what they immediately saw was a large gate as tall as the mountains. It stood up tall and towered over the group.

"Hello!" Shani called, there was no one up there. Zephyros looked at it intently.

"If there's no one there, that means that it's not being used. The people must be gone." Zephyros stated. "If it were a battle, wouldn't someone else be in charge here at least? If the gate looks to be in alright condition that means it's been left alone, or at least rebuilt. Both mean there should be people here."

"If it was a disaster, say, a tornado, the gate would have been save because the mountain is protecting it."

"I think it was much more then a tornado, but we'll find out." Zephyros added.

"Why don't we just blow up the gate and go inside." Shani crossed her arms, running her hand through her hair almost seductively as she turned to Vance.

"Shani! We can't just go blowing up other peoples gates. This must be a gate to some kind of castle or town. We don't want them to be mad." Florica scolded.

So, their big discovery following the trail was a vine trampoline. Apparently this place was getting stranger all the time. If the tracks led here, then clearly there had to be some importance to it. But... Why would animal tracks lead to a trampoline? It made no sense. But wait...
"So... Someone said the island was cursed right? Johanna, you said you've turned into an elephant before..." Alessia began. "Do you think this trampoline could hold an elephant's weight?" She immediately blushed, knowing how stupid that question sounded, but what else was she meant to conclude? She looked at everyone else, feeling very self conscious that she had said something very stupid and was going to look like an idiot.
"Look, the animal tracks go here and there were people on the beach before right? Maybe while they were on the beach, they transformed or something. This place is cursed right?" She hoped that people didn't laugh. She felt really, really stupid. Alessia looked down at the ground. "Someone go find tracks or something. Maybe they went away from here too." She had to add something sensible after that.




Vance was panting, now out of breath as they arrived at the strange gate in the mountains. Zephyros actually contributed with useful observations, noting that there really should have been people around if the gate was as intact as it was. One would assume that such a gate would indeed be guarded, and that someone would have heralded them as soon as they were seen. They were hardly hiding their presence. Least of all, the energetic Thea whose boundless energy was driving the air from his lungs at an alarming rate. Then, Shani decided to make the helpful suggestion of blowing the gate up, and she gave him that familiar seductive look. He felt a small shudder go through him. This woman and her wiles! I'm getting mixed signals! He made an obviously confused expression and looked away. That should let her know what he was thinking. Also, she was probably aware of it anyway without his obvious tell. She seemed like the kind of woman that could read his mind. Possibly the only woman that could read his mind. I'll never understand them. He distracted herself from Shani's confusing and seemingly contradictory behaviour by ruminating upon the gate.
"While I would not recommend blowing the gate up, we do need to bypass it somehow. I recommend that we try a close examination. Given that this looks relatively intact, my Arc of TIme is not likely to be of any help here." Vance suggested, his voice a natural tone of authority. He began to inspect the area around the gate to see if he could find anything, or spot a gatehouse. After all, every gate needed a gatehouse to be opened from. ​

 

Ander's pov:



The Island Expedition:
It looked like they were going to move into the forest. There seemed to be trampolines. "Perhaps the curse turns the people to animals. That would explain the lack of no human tracks. They keep there smarts maybe. Curses usually do not effect the brain. This very well could be a circus of some sort too." He knew lots about curses and turning someone into an animal was a rather simple one.

 

The Demon War

Calxiyn put her hand on her hips. "And how do you expect me to do that?" And in her fake, playful rage, her Keyblade gave the table the Mark of the Fire Devil, and she looked in awe as it blew up. Her mouth was in awe at her new magic. She then started laughing. "I guess that's how. I didn't know I could do that." She said cheerfully. The Mark on her arm seemed to be burning as she lightly tapped her arm with Ra's. "Alright Ra, it's your turn. You better impress me!" Calxiyn brushed her hand with Ra's as she blushed.

 

Ezekiel chuckled quietly to himself. "Elephants, Peacocks, and now trampolines? This island is almost beginning to seem like a circus." The blonde wizard muttered.

Beucette ran and began jumping on the trampoline with Johanna. "Man, i love trampolines! Wonder who made it? We haven't seen anybody else since we got to the Island, but people obviously live here. Jo, maybe you could turn into a bird or somethin'. Do a quick scan of the area and see if there's any people 'round these parts. If not then i guess we could just continue goin' around the Island."


Ra shook his head. "I will not throw this key away. One way or another, I will find a use for it." He replied to Thomas, agreeing the Charlotte's advice. The red-haired girl then playfully asked how he expected her to destroy the table. Though, she seemed to imprint some form of seal onto it, before causing it to catch fire and explode, reducing what remained of the rubble to ash. "I suspected your magic would be powerful, but not like this." Ra said, slight surprise in his voice. Though, that wasn't nearly as surprising as a warmth against his arm. He glanced down to see her brush her arm along him, before taking his hand. She was unnaturally warm, but that was to be expected of the wielder of magic like that.

"Alright Ra, it's your turn. You better impress me!" The man was slightly caught off guard by the comment. One couldn't see his face through the mask, but he turned his head away from her slightly, likely in embarrassment. Quickly enough, he regained his composure. He extended his hand once more, and sand began to flow. "Return!" It collected together, changing shape, then texture, then color until it was a perfect replica of the table and vase he had destroyed a moment ago. ​

 

The Demon War
​

Calxiyn smiled as Ra brought the table back. "I didn't know you could do that, that's really cool!" Calxiyn told him excitedly. "So this is the powerful Team King. I can't say I'm not grateful for you guys taking someone like me along." She said to Ra, though she looked at the others as well as she spoke. "I'm glad that you're coming with me on a mission today, Ra. I really am. I hope I'm not embarrassing you in front of your friends, though." Calxiyn added cheerfully as she gawked at him, looking up at him enthusiastically.

Damian followed as the others sleuthed their way around and discussed architecture, it was nice to see Thea being all happy and energetic for once. Damian examined the gate inquisitively but he could not see what was so important about it, weren't they supposed to be looking for El Dorado? Suddenly Damian heard a cry, Thea seemed in trouble. The ground around her feet had transformed into a wild fiery environment. For a moment he panicked before he remembered that she had chosen terrain magic and had little control over it. Stepping forward Damian closed his eyes and brought his hands to his head, time to test out some magic. In his mind's eye he saw consciences all around, the pirate, the seer, the nobles... and there she was, an innocent little girl with barely any control over the great powers she held. Damian's mind reached out for her "It's okay" He said with his thoughts "This is just your new magic. Be calm, it cannot hurt you as long as you are in control of it" He didn't really know how to calm down little girls but gave it his best shot "Do not be afraid, your father is neaby, you are safe" But are we safe? Damian wondered to himself.

 

Ander's pov:



The Island Expedition:
This was getting interesting. First the trampolines then an elephant. After saying that the curse could turn the people to animals he thought about it more. There was the whole circus thing too and Ezekiel seemed to agree. "The way I see it there are a few possibilities this is a circus, the curse turns the people here to animals or the people here have magic to turn to animals. The thing is we have not found any evidence to say these people use magic, just look at the fire on the beach." That was when he thought some more. That was it Beucette had said something when they got there. "When we got to the island Beucette said something about the mountains, that there was something there and something might spread to the rest of the Island. Curses can spread. If there is a curse that would be a perfect spot to have it. Mountains are high so anything on there will at some point make its way down by water or some other way. Fruit has to have water to grow and having a curse go on a food is rather common. The people eat the food and at some point turn to animals. That would explain the not eating meet. They would not want to eat there own kind. It would also explain the ball court and the trampolines once they turn to animals they would need some sort of entertainment. The monsters may be people too. A similar thing was happening to the people on Galuna. Maybe they are trying to get help, but are unable to. The curse maybe on the mountains and this would draw any people away from them. Beucette do you think using your Poison Dragon Slayer powers to find out if there is anything in the fruit?" In theory this may work, but it might not. Curses were a rather tricky thing and finding traces in a fruit might be a long shot, but what did they have to lose? That was when he started looking for some fruit.

 

Ra stared at the girl for a moment, before clearing his throat. "It's quite alright. We are glad to have you." He was glad to have his mask on to hide his expression of embarrassment. As long as he could keep his voice straight, he was alright. He was too prideful to be seen in a state of embarrassment, especially in front of the team he lead. Though, something about that girl was able to fluster him. It wasn't long before Thomas complained about them testing their magics, and said they should start their mission. "Yes, I agree. We should start. Thomas, why don't you and i go and choose a job?" He said to the boy, before walking toward the job board. "Come along then." ​

 

"Okay guys I'm good to go" Skadi said, walking over to her group for the sake of formal posts.


Caleb didn't even tell his group he was ready. Rather, he made his presence known in the most glorious way possible; he was draining his magic energy at mach speed and requipping every half a second as though he was a master at the magic already, likely causing seisures to anyone who happened to be watching.


Gaius was very much having fun right at that moment, and he was very much ready for the mission. He had wandered to the job board, then to Team King and said "i'm ready" then he had gone straight over to Evanora's throne and immediately used his Crash magic on it, causing it to vaporize immediately. ​

 

The Fairy Curse of Laverna: Magic Meadow


As the group went into the portal, someone imminently greeted them. "I've been waiting for you. My name is Elivana. I don't know what the Queen has told you, but here it goes." She spoke hurried and anxiously, not giving anyone time to utter any words or even breath. Around them were large flowers, but all of them were slowly dying. "The whole Magic Meadow is dying, and all of the fairies are sick. We have our own guardian here who's supposed to protect us, Topaz, but she's gone, and the closest guardian is in another town. I'm sorry that I have to skip pleasantries, but my flower home is dying, and so are all the other ones. We have to go right away." She bowed to Quinn, who was leading as a sign of respect.

The Demon Barber of Fleet Street


"Here we are, this is... Fleet Street." Dale said, stepping out of the carriage. Outside there was a women stepping. "A costumer!" She shouted, pointing out Dale. "No! Costumers!!" She said excitedly as she pulled everyone on the mission inside of her Pie Shop. She then went to her table, and started rolling out some meat pies. "Can I offer you some Ale, or even a pie?" She suggested desperately. "I'm so sorry it's just that I haven't seen a costumer for weeks, please let me treat you to a pie!" She spoke dramatically. "So tell me a bit about yourself, what brings you to Fleet Street of all the dirty slums in town?"

 

The Demon War

Calxiyn was going to scold Gaius for destroying someone else property, but suddenly, there was a loud crash, and the doors of the Guild Hall shut: Something they never did unless it was nighttime.



"Hey you! You're going to let me kiss you!" Someone shouted from behind her. Calxiyn turned around, and felt someone press her lips on hers. "H-hey what the heck?!" Calxiyn argued "Stop!" She demanded, but after a few more seconds, something weird seemed to happen to her, and she kissed back.


"Sam!" Another voice called. This one had an open wound. "You can't just go around kissing random strangers." The voice told him. She couldn't tell what was going on, seemly in a daze, the kiss melting deep into her memory.

"Please miss, forgive my brother. He's a bit... reckless."

"At least I feel a hell of a lot better then you right now!" Sam started laughing arrogantly. His brother sighed.

"That's because you wrongly used your abilities on her."


"Nn, Sam, you're such a reckless brute, taking advantage of a beautiful women like her." A sultry, flirtatious voice jumped in.


"Shut that pretty boy mouth of yours before I rip it off your pretty boy face!" Sam retorted, sizing up the red haired boy.

Calxiyn blinked at all of them as another one appeared.



"Shush, you guys, can we uh, not fight right now." He held his arm in his hands. "None of us are in the best state."

"I guess you're right, Mattew..."

"I agree."


"...."

"Wh-What?" Calxiyn looked at them all as they chatted among themselves.


"Hm? Did you say something beautiful?" He smiled at her.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?" Calxiyn exploded, flames coming from her hands and her mark burning into her arm. "HOW DARE YOU STORM INTO THE GUILD HALL LIKE YOU OWN THE PLACE, KISS ME AND THEN GO BACK TO NORMAL CONVERSATION??!?!? WHY ARE YOU ALL WOUNDED? TELL ME RIGHT NOW OR I'M GOING TO GO GET EVANORA!" The girl demanded, her voice for a moment becoming scarier then Mikasa's.


All of the boys' jaw dropped to the floor, and they all spoke in unison. "It's a-a DEMON SLAYER?!"

Calxiyn blinked at them again. They looked so scared she felt horrible for yelling at all of them. "Oh, um.. I'm sorry!" She spoke cheerfully once more. "This is Team King, and I'm Calxiyn. I'm sure we can help you get banadaged up, just... tell us what happened to you."

 

Ra had been standing by the job board, looking through the listed ones when the doors shut, on the opposite end of the guild hall. He turned around just quickly enough to see a brown-haired man kiss Calxiyn. Without a moment's warning, sand rushed across the bottom of the floor. Before the soldier had even finished forming, a stone fist collided with Sam's lower jaw, and the soldier decayed back into nothing. Shortly after, Ra finished walking over to the group. "I would like an explanation as to who you are, and what you're doing here." He said angrily, staff ablaze with fire. Calxiyn then seemed to burst out in anger as well, causing them to quake with fear. Well, she certainly knew how to use her new power for intimidation.

Then it occurred to him. "Devil Slayer is a lost magic. Even in mine and Ezekiel's studies, we'd never heard of it. So, how do the five of you even know what that is, let alone be able to identify one on sight? There's no way you're even ordinary wizards. Now, why have you come here?" One didn't need to be able to see through his mask to know there was fire in his eyes. He glared intently at the one called Sam. The thought of testing out Caelum briefly crossed his mind. ​

Malkira had just entered the guildhall from the land of nonexistance when suddenly he saw some random guy kissing Calxiyn. As Ra's sand soldier punched the guy in the jaw he stumbled backwards to recieve a prompt fist of iron to the face. Malkira wasn't the only one angered by this, several others, including Cal, threatened the group. "You are trespassers" Malkira stated seethingly. Suddenly he noticed something that Cal had also noticed, they were wounded "But we, as a guild, help people do we not? And these people look like they need help" This was addressed to the guild members "Ra, Thomas, show a little mercy. Although..." he turned to the kid who'd kissed Cal "If you attempt anything like that again then I won't be helping you. Now. Sit down, tell us what's wrong, and let me make you some tea"

 

Conrad Heinrich Adelbrecht Carsten von Eisenstein II

Conrad looked at Shani "As I had already pointed out that theory relied on me being entirely right, strongholds don't really destroy themselves, and I do not know about you but the most logical option for a military installation to be destroyed is it being destroyed in their use also known as war." Conrad said simply "As for bodies, you'd be surprised how quickly scavengers can clear out a battlefield..." Conrad stated matter-of-factly what they also forgot about was the fact that after a battle they'd clean up, they went off again this time towards a gate, it was closed and looked deserted, he took a look towards the top of the walls or see if he could discover anything from the arrowslits or the murder holes. It was then Thea decided it was time to play the floor is Lava and he though to himself "God damn it...really.... out of all the things that could happen.... are you ****ing kidding me...." He decided to ignore it, that was Vance's problem not his. He looked at the gate then at Shani "Bringing it down eh? I think that could be arranged...I mean I don't think we're going to learn much from lookin at it... It's abandoned or atleast as far as I can see, why I can only theorise as to what happened here, perhaps abandoned to flee from either a natural disaster or a war... If we can get inside maybe we can learn more about it...." Conrad said, he was just looking for an excuse to blow something up right now and well since Thea apparantly learned new tricks, Vance learned new tricks maybe he did as well. He vaguely remembered the magic picking ceremony and he hadn't really asked anyone about the missing details yet, but he did recall one of the magics that had been chosen by him could be used as a door opener amongst other things.
