Beucette eyed her opponent. "If i win this round we're sleeping together. Deal?" Quickly running over to Lucia, she put her fingers on the girl's lips, moving them in motion with what she said. "Oh of course, that sounds like a great deal. I'll take it!" With that, Beucette went back to her position and realized she was going to be one shot then swore under her breath and hoped that RNG blessed her with a dodge. Well, in any event she used binding strike and hoped to god she lived long enough to pull it off

 

Zwei used Strike Raid

After a hard fought match between herself and her opponent, ending quite close on both parts, she was moved to face her next opponent. Following a similar theme of her last opponent, this one wielded an impressive looking sword. Being asked what her name, Alisa gave her response. "My name is Alisa." Shortly after introductions were made, Charolette had charged in ready to strike. To combat this, Alisa did the same, her shield ready in front of her as she charged with Barrier Surge.

 

Alisa used Barrier Surge. It did 13 damage, but with Defense and Weapon she did 43.

Charlotte's defense reduced 12.

Charlotte used Barrier Surge. It did 7 damage, but with Defense she did 20.

Calxiyn was on her last legs as she shot out her attack. With the mercy and miracles that only could have been given by a god, she had succeed. Johanna ran over to Zwei and healed him, after previously being distracted by Dale. She also healed Calxiyn.

"Caliborn! Caliborn! Did you see!?" She called out to him, but he wasn't there. She frowned.

 

As the two fighters had bashed into each other with their barriers, Charlotte had felt as though she had done nothing, whilst still feeling the impact of Alisa's barrier. Nevertheless, she couldn't be discouraged from something simple like that, and instead went in to strike with a Wishing Edge on the girl.

As Beucette came over to her to ask her to make a deal Lucia said, "I'd rather die first...and that doesn't mean you can sleep with the corpse either." Lucia went to strike at Beucette poison edge, but as it had turned out, the girl had some good reflexes and managed to avoid the strike. However, as this missed, she saw Beucette reeling up for another attack, to which Lucia was able to react accordingly. Hopping backward, she managed to avoid the attack altogether, leaving both of the fighters completely unscathed. Well that was a bit nerve wracking. Regardless, Lucia immediately followed up with a strike raid.

 

Alisa had felt well protected from Charolette attack due to her shield, despite still feeling the impact against it. She didn't dwell on this long, for her opponent had went in for another attack. Thus she would face this attack by using binding strike.

 

Vance yelped as he received an incredibly painful blow to the face, but he continued on with his attack. He had no idea how he managed it, but the strike kept going and when it connected, he felt the surge of magic as the attack did its work and seized the warrior up. Gaius couldn't attack. He grinned, knowing that this was his chance. He had stepped past the man with his first attack, so Vance channelled fire through the staff and spun around leaping towards the other man with his staff outstretched and a half smile etched on his face, confident that this was his victory.

Vance used Fire Dash. ​

 

"Come on! Quit trying to hit me and hit me!" She yelled out, before realizing that not only had she herself missed, but lucia was about to indeed hit her. Well ****. If she could dodge again, that'd be wonderful. Assuming she survived the attack, she followed up with a strike raid of her own.

Tessa let her arms rest on the small wooden table she had found, a quiet refuge from the chaos as she listened to the crowd cheer and roar. Events geared towards beating each other up had never appealed to her; there was already so much violence in the world, why add to it? The ends of her hair brushed against her elbows as she leaned forward, eyes staring at the not so distant stadium. She could walk back, but it was so quiet here (not counting the crowd, but she could block it out if she tried). She hoped the wounds she had inflicted on Conrad wouldn't keep him from doing his best, but she wasn't sure she wanted to see the results. Or even talk to other people really. It wouldn't be so bad if she just stayed out here a little while longer.

He had given it his all, but when Alissa didn't go down after his hit, he knew it was all over, he tried to dodge the final attack in a last hope, but it was all futile. It had been decreed that the son of Eisenstein would not win and it would be so. The barrier slammed into him and he was blasted backwards and hit the ground hard having the air forced out of his lungs. He lay on the ground for a few moments and gathered himself up. He staggered over to Alisa and gave her a hand, congratulating her with her win and wished her luck in the remainder of the tournament. He hadn't been strong enough, it had been the third time in a short time he had found himself in this position, second one in under a week. He had trained so hard, but it hadn't been enough. He had failed once more. Vance, who had won probably wasn't gonna keep this one quiet. He wanted to get away from here. He tried to slip away without any of the medics noticing him and he had nearly succeeded but then Ander decided it was necessary to heal him. This bloke made no sense, there were people worse off than him, but he had been prioritised? What kind of bloody medic was this guy? He just stalked off to find a quiet place to sit and think. As he wandered away he noticed Tessa sitting in a quiet spot and he was left standing there wondering if he should join her or not.

Tessa glanced up, feeling eyes upon her. Conrad watched from a safe distance, and she half smiled before standing straight, walking over to him as she wrapped her arms around herself. "So...I've been thinking." she bit her lip, staring at the ground in an effort to keep her eyes from tearing up. "I've been thinking about that promise I made you. About me staying and watching over you. I don't think I can keep that promise." Tessa shuffled; she had never been good with this kind of thing. "You're a sweet person, and you've done so much for me, and it's awful for me to do this but..."
She took a deep breath, steeling herself. Don't turn back. "I think I need to go. Away. I don't think this place is right for me."

 

Conrad Heinrich Adelbrecht Carsten von Eisenstein II

She had looked up, knowing he had been watching. He could see her half-smile and was glad she was smiling, it was so much better than how she had been acting a few days ago after she had accidentally hurt him. When she came over however he knew something was wrong... She started off with saying she couldn't keep the promise she made him. And how he was a very nice person and he had helped her a lot. He already felt his gut twist and his throat close down a little bit. He knew what was coming next. And despite having known her for only such a short time it hurt. He couldn't keep the emotion out of his voice when he spoke. "I-I understand... I guess there's nothing I could say to you that would convince you to stay..." He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly. "But before you go...there's something I'd want to ask... I know it sounds stupid, but would you dance with me? It has been a while since I last did and well it would atleast ease the pain of everything that happened recently if you did..." She remained silent for a moment probably contemplating the bizare nature of his request but she agreed to it. He took her by the hand and started humming a song he remembered from the last ball he had been. He didn't care if anyone saw him, not in the least, as he led Tessa through the paces of the dance. He felt a range of emotions course through him as they danced, but when he looked herin her green eyes he couldn't help but smile, a saddened smile, but a smile nonetheless. When the dance was done he looked at her tears forming in the corners of his eyes. "I'll miss you, Tessa, but I wish you the very best out there and please if there is something I could do for you.. Let me know, I wish I could go with you I really do, but I can't... there are so many things I still have to do... and I truly am sorry that I couldn't come with you... Visit me some time or send a letter...." Conrad said as he once more wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. He had not only lost the tournament today, but he was also losing a friend...

Tessa brushed away the tears and hugged him back, patting his back gently before letting go. She couldn't draw this out much longer or she would begin to second guess herself, and not for the first time. "I'm sure we'll see each other around." She smiled up at him confidently. Perhaps just not in this life. But there was always next time. There always would be a next time, she was sure of it.

"I hope you have all the good luck in the world at your side." She tugged on one of the strands of his hair gently before turning away, hesitating just a moment before putting one foot forwards, and then the other. With each step, it was simultaneously harder and easier to walk away. Away from Skadi, who had been her first friend here. Away from Alessia, who had been so kind and protective of Tessa's weak natrue. Away from Damian, who had been so forgiving, and Leo and Silvia, (she silently wished them the best). Away from Thea, who had been so strange and sad, and Vance, whom she wouldn't miss at all, and all the others who had stopped by to talk to her or say kind words in some way.

Away from Conrad, who had been her friend through it all. She turned and waved at him once more, smiling despite her tears, before turning and letting her feet fall on the dusty path, off towards her new future. "I'll miss you guys." She murmured, before vanishing into the horizon.

He could feel her soft hands wipe away his tears as she gently patted him on the back. She said she was sure they would see each other again, but he wasn't so sure. "...Maybe in another life..." He mumbled as tears streamed down his face, he felt like a hand was holding his throat choking out any and all words he wanted to say. But he didn't have to say them, she understood without him saying it. She wished him all the luck in the world, but what was luck if you couldn't connect with people and you always slipped through the cracks of the established groups, he felt so damned alone. He caught the hesitation in her first step, but knew it wouldn't last. She walked away, he wanted to run after her. His mind was screaming at him and he was torn between running after her, shouting at her to hold up so they could leave together. There was hardly anything binding him here anyways. Vance only saw him as a means to an end. He hadn't spoken with Aoki in a while and now he really didn't feel like it anyways. He let the tears flow freely as he looked up he saw her standing in the distance. She too was crying, but smiling, he smiled back and waved. He turned around too, going back to that bar, intent on heavy drinking, he didn't care anymore what anyone thought. He sat down on a barstool and asked for the strongest drink they had and just started drinking...

 

"Well, you're forgiven I guess. I was probably kinda stressed at the time so, that's why I got mad at you." She replied. This guy... He was being weird. Like, something just seemed awkward about him. He really doesn't know anything about talking to people, does he? He did nothing to help his case in the next sentence. She took a step back, surprised, and gave him a look of incredulity. "Seriously, what is with you? You come over, apologise for something and then tell me I can go talk to someone else? Is there something you wanted to talk to me about?" She held her arms out at her sides and shrugged at him. He was just impossible to understand. He had never once behaved normally towards her. Why? Did he just not... Get people? It was like he was thirteen and trying to talk to his cr- Oh no. It better not be.




Edric spotted something going on. Two people talked, one of them one of the new guys at the Guild and the other left, a woman. Whatever it was, it looked back. Neither of them seemed happy and the man, whose name was Conrad as he remembered, walked away and started drinking. He stood up and quickly informed Cassandra of what he just saw before walking swiftly over. He could see that something was wrong and well, usually, they needed to chat about it. He crossed the grounds quickly and as he reached the area where Conrad was seated, he called for the same stuff he was having. The S-Class sat down next to him and picked up the drink that was quickly delivered to him, taking a quick swig. Damn, strong stuff. It's a serious one then.
"Hey, Conrad. Wha's botherin' ya? Ee can spot a man drinkin' ta forget from a mahle aweh." Edric asked, taking a sip of the drink that he had been given. "Somethin' happen with ya friend? Et didnae look good from where Ee was sittin." ​

 

Jack's pov:

"Thank you, I just thought you would want to talk to your friend. You seemed to enjoy talking to each other from what I saw before I left to do my own thing. I mean you seemed to get along nicely." He stopped to think before he answered her next question. "Not really anything I can think of that we need to talk about, unless you want to. I just wanted to apologize mainly."

He never saw Edric approach and only noticed the man when he sat down next to him. Conrad took a sip and felt the liqour burn his throat. He looked at Edric through reddened eyes, tears still silently flowing over his cheeks. The S-class asked him what was bugging him and there was a lot of it. This was merely the drop that made the bucket spill. A very large drop that was. "There's a lot bothering me...." He replied in a shaky voice, he took another sip. "Not looking good's one way of putting it... She felt like this wasn't the right place for her... There was this look of grim determination in her eyes.... nothing I said or did would have made any difference..." He angrily slammed his fist into the table. "Damn it, I should have gone with her..." he couldn't hold back the tears or keep himself together it was all falling apart around him. He finished his drink in a rather big swig and felt the alcohol burn his throat. The aching throat distracting him from his racing heartbeat and the lump in his throat.

 

Alisa used Binding Strike. It did 18 damage, but with Strength, Speed, and Magic it did 24 damage.

Johanna quickly healed both of the fallen, though there damage was extreme. "Evanora can you come here please!"

Evanora watched over and then started healing Gaius and Beucette. "That's too bad, I thought you would succeed." She told Gaius with a small, sympathetic smile on her face. "But you did a good job. I can't say that I'm not proud."

That last attack from Charlotte had some bite to it, like alot of bite to it. After having been pushed back a bit because of the attack, flames started to swirl around her and she charged towards Charlotte using Fire Surge.

 

The last strike from Alisa didn't seem to hurt quite as much as the other, but nevertheless, she couldn't let her guard down just yet. Keeping her blade at the ready, she saw her shielded opponent coat herself in flames as she used a move that Charlotte was quite familiar with. Responding to the elemental assault in kind, Charlotte generated lightning around herself as she charged at her opponent with Thunder Surge.

 

Alisa used Fire Surge. It did 25 damage, but with Magic and Speed it did 32.

Charlotte's defense reduced 11 damage.
