Malkira expected the water to keep rising, but suddenly it stopped. Calxiyn and Balthazar were saying something about wisdom and philosophical stuff, Malkira stood up again "So all I had to do was admit I'm not always right?" He exclaimed "Okay, well that's fine... none of you heard my rant a second ago, right?" He glared at his friends "Right, great, now I guess we're done with the riddles" Malkira tried to sound calm but this situation had awoken old memories, he wondered what Serora was doing now, where she was, he hadn't even attempted to contact her. But what would she think of what he'd become? "I am definitely not the wisest of them all, I can tell you that for fact" he muttered

 

As what Lucia had said was apparently wrong, Malkira then stepped up to the plate, and gave an explanation as to why her answer was right, but when in a completely different way of stating it than hers. However, then Cal and Balthazar started speaking and...Lucia's head started to feel like it was going to explode. Trying to piece together just about everything that was going on. If Lucia were a machine, one would be able to hear the gears overclocking in her head and would see smoke coming out of her ears. But she wasn't, so that was all metaphorical. After they had gone and explained that whole thing, Malkira then stated that he wasn't the wisest person of them all. With an extremely confused and slightly harrowed face, Lucia then looked at the stone man and then back to the horse fish man and said, "and because he thinks he isn't the wisest person, that makes him the wisest person." She wasn't entirely sure what was going on here, but hopefully she was on the same page as everyone else.

Zwei used Sliding Dash on Guard 1

They had arrived at the castle gate with little to more trouble. However once they were at the gate, they were stop by one sole guard who stated that the gates were closed due to the wedding. That didn't sounds like a good thing. There wasn't much time to waste so after Skadi had frozen the guard, Leo destroyed the gates with a White Dragon's Roar. The destruction of the gate would likely draw some attention towards them, so the carriage started moving further into the castle.

As the sea centaur as the last riddle, it was an odd one since it was directed specifically at Malkira. One would assume that the answer to the question would be yes, but that cause the water to rise. However when Malkira admitted to his guilt the answer became right. So with the aid of two explanations, a long one from Cal and a shorter simpler one from Balthazar, Alisa had gained some more understanding on the situation. Without it though she most certainly would've stayed confused as she attempted to figure it out for herself. "So being humble is the key then." That was her take on all this and hopefully it was the right way of taking all this.

 

Quinn raced through the air, when they finally came across Erigor. He knocked Cassandra to the ground, causing her to drop Caleb. Lowering down, he dropped Jack and Ander on the ground. They might have to roll to stick the landing, but they shouldn't be hurt by it. He'd done his job and gotten them there. Now, they had to handle themselves. There would be no way he could do this if he had to carry them throughout the entirety of the fight (literally, at least. He'd be doing it figuratively for sure). He raced toward Erigor as fast as he could, without those two to weigh him down. It would take about a second for him to close the distance between himself and the dark wizard. He expected the wind to blow him away, just like it did with Cassandra, but he would make it a bit harder. Right before the collision with the wind that would have knocked him aside, he shifted into his Invincible form, using the force to crash into Erigor and hopefully drag him to the ground. ​

 

Mission of the Utmost Importance:



Ander's pov:
Soon Quinn grabbed Jack and him and took off after Erigor. Moments before took of after Erigor he said something about not talking. Quinn knew nothing about what happened no one ready did. After what happened all those years one more person not liking him was so insignificant at this point. The fall of something that could have been great. He did not want the event to happen again. The event.... Quinn, should really be careful on who he threatened in the future the next person might not be as understanding as he was. He was about to say something when Quinn dropped him. What was he thinking? "What the.." and that was all Quinn would be able to hear because of the wind. "Aerora" He used the spell aiming at the ground beneath his feet. He landed on his feet. If it was anyone else he was sure they could get more injured. He then saw Erigor and rant towards him with his weapon out. It was time for this to end.

Damian was just about to come up with some clever and epic way to get past the guard sneakily and without causing too much damage, when Skaid froze the guard and Leo roared down the gates. Damian sighed "Really? Is this how we answer every situation now? Brute force? Someone's going to have to fix those gates you know" Damian criticised "Nevermind, let's just get moving. Also did nobody else notice the guard mention a wedding? If the Prince and Princess are here, who's getting married?"

"Looks like we got company." Zachary told the group, grabbing his sword.

"Leo, take Princess Dominique to look for Zwei and Johanna." Samantha directed.

"I am capable enough to fight along side you." The Princess argued.

"I'm sure you are, but you're a liability. And we need to find Zwei and Johanna, you both won't look so out of place, especially in a castle setting. So, go!" Samantha told her. Dominique looked at Leo.

"I guess you're baby sitting me again." Dominique said bitterly. "How are we going to find them?"

Alrighty, so, they met this fish centuar horse thingamabobby. It was all like "yo dawg. I got some riddles for you. If you can answer them right, then y'all good to go. But if not, then the room will start flooding" So first up, it was all like "something something stars something. moon. yes." Anyway sabernotsabershieldperson solved it. Then it was like...you know what you read all this ****. it turned out that they had to be humble. Beucette was nervously sweating. Being humble wasn't exactly her strong suit. Her sword was named ego for chirst's sake. So, she'd just uh...let them handle this one. Although she totally knew all the answers right from the getgo. even before he asked the question. she was that good. ​

 

The others seemed to agree that humbleness was the key. Thankfully, it was. The group rose up to a platform, and the walls were made of hard marble stone. The ceiling was low, making it impossible for Calxiyn to fly. She looked out from where they were, and saw what was almost like, a hallway.

"It's a maze." Calxiyn told the group. "The final step. All of these have been measurements. Willpower, Intelligence, and now skill."

Balthazar explained. "Whatever you do, don't use magic on the walls. The room is only up to Caliborn's height, and when it floods we'll all drown quickly. Lucky, I think I've come prepared for this." Balthazar said to them. He pulled out a Super Computer, and put it on the ground. He typed some stuff, and then everyone's faces came onto the screen as Icons, blinking on the area.

"You all investigate the Maze. I'll stay here and try to make a map out of it. If someone finds the exit, go on ahead without us. You won't remember the way you came, and you can retrieve the hand. The rest of us will follow once your path has been relieved on the computer."

"Be careful Balthazar, you don't know what's going to be lurking around here."

"I could say the same to you, young lady."

Calxiyn looked at the directions they could go into. Starting from the beginning, they could either go Left, or Right. "What should we do?"

So we're not going to bother with questioning just how Balthazar pulled a giant super computer out of his pocket and just proceed into the maze with everyone else. They came across their first fork in the path. There wasn't any hints or clues to tell them which path was the right one to take, so it was all up to fate on this one. "How bout we go left."

 

Desert of Ev​

She nodded. "I'll take you there." She got onto her broom, and pulled Ezekiel onto the broom as well. They flew across the map. "This is yo-" She cut herself off. If she tried to get him to remember too much at once, it was possible it could harm him. "Kiamo Ko." She explained. It was late in the afternoon, with the sun still hot and high compared to its winter habits, she toiled her way up the last slopes, Kiamo Ko raising its narrow dark profile above her. She felt like a child looking up at the top hat of a very tall gentleman.She came to a halt above the orchard, made her way to the back door, and found it open, which meant the sisters were out flower picking or some such nonsense. The place was quiet. She grabbed a browning apple from the sideboard and trudged up the steps of her tower while eagerly pulling around Ezekiel, without running into anyone. When she passed Nanny’s room, she rattled the doorknob and said, “Nanny?”

“Oh,” came a little shriek, “you startled me!”

“May I come in? I need you to help me, we have a traveler here and-” “Just a minute.” There was the sound of furniture being dragged away from the door. “Well, this is a fine mess, Miss-!"

"Fae."

"Going off and leaving us to be murdered in our beds, or just as likely!”

“What are you talking about? Let me in.” She ratted the doorknob again.

 

Skadi wanted to say something to Silvia to calm the girl's attitude, but what was there to say? Anything she said would likely make her more pissed off. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came, so instead she directed her efforts towards the experiments they were fighting. How unusual that all the guards looked the exact same, must have been a big family. Wrapping herself in flames, Skadi launched herself at the first of the guards.

He hadn't exactly noticed it before, given his condition, but the woman who had helped him was carrying a flying broom. It wasn't uncommon to see magical items, though this was a bit of an oddity. He mounted the broom with her. He held onto the girl lightly as they flew, to prevent falling from it. It wasn't long before they approached a castle. She began to speak, but cut herself off, before stating the name of the area. Kiamo Ko. He looked at her curiously, but decided not to press the issue. He followed behind her, through the orchard without saying much as she pulled him along.

After they'd gone a ways up the tower, she stopped at a room, and rattled the doorknob. Something was odd about this. The old woman had evidently locked herself inside the room. From the sounds of things, even barricaded the door. What was she so afraid of to go to such lengths to prevent entry? He noted that the woman he'd been saved by was named Fae. It would be good to be able to refer to her, though now was hardly the time for introductions. "What's she talking about? Being murdered in their beds? Is there some kind of danger here?"​

"I have no idea. Nanny was practically born an old women. She gets senile." Fae whispered to Ezekiel.

"I heard that." Nanny croaked back. She went back on her tangent. “And not saying a word. You had us frantic with worry-” The last piece scraped across the floor, and Nanny flung open the door.

Nanny looked over at Ezekiel curiously. "Who's this?"

"Nanny, it's Fiyero." Fae whispered to Nanny, but not loud enough so Ezekiel could hear it. Nanny started laughing hysterically now, before starting to cry.

“You hideous ungrateful woman!” She fell heavily into her arms and burst into tears.

“Please, I’ve had enough drama to last me the rest of my life,” said Fae. “What are you going on about?”

Nanny took some while to calm down. She rummaged through her bag for some smelling salts, pulling out enough little bottles and satchels to set up her own apothecary business. There were blue glass vials, clear piliboxes, snakeskin envelopes of powders and pills, and a beautiful green glass bottle that had an old torn label on it, MIRACLE ELI-. She administered calming agents to herself, and when she could breathe again, she said, "Grab me a cup of water, Fae." After she left to get the water, Nanny was stuck with Ezekiel.

"Would you like some, dearie?" She handed a bottle to Ezekiel. "Someone who's traveled far as you... all the way from earthland oh boy, needs some pills for sure."

 

Ezekiel entered the room along with Fae. Immediately, she asked who he was, and Fae introduced him as Fiyero. Fiyero? Ezekiel looked curiously at her, though said nothing for the moment. He simply watched the interaction between the two. It wasn't long after that Fae had been sent away, to fetch some water and the old woman turned to him. "Someone who's traveled far as you... all the way from earthland oh boy, needs some pills for sure." He considered taking the pills, but decided against it. There was nothing overly wrong with him at the moment. Nothing rest wouldn't fix, at least. He shook his head. "It would seem she's mistaken me for someone else...That would explain her reaction when we first met. Tell me, who is Fiyero? It must be someone important to her." ​

 

Desert of Ev​

"I've never been personally told about Fiyero, no sir." Nanny told the boy, taking back her pills. “Just that you are not him. But I can see how she might think so. Barely. I'm going blind you see.” Nanny explained. "She's been grieving since she got her, the reason why she came to the castle in the first place. But I just got here myself, I was a care taker to her sister, but I've come with her here after Nessa could walk, you see." She closed her eyes for a moment.

 

Ezekiel was a bit disappointed that she didn't know anything about Fiyero. He sighed, and listened to her explain what she knew. Evidently, she'd been grieving for some time. This woman had been caretaker to her sister, Nessa, who hadn't been able to walk. Whether it was due to an injury, or she was simply very young wasn't specified. He sat in silence for a moment, before remembering when they'd first arrived. "When we came to you, you seemed afraid of something. You had the door barricaded. Is there some kind of danger here? I may be able to help you, especially given that Fae saved my life." He offered. If there was something he could do to help them, then perhaps he could repay the debt he owed her​

 

“Well, you know-my dear-you saw I suppose, that everyone has disappeared?” Nanny asked Ezekiel. Fae dropped the glass of water onto the floor, and it spilled behind her as she scowled in confusion, and rising, sudden fear.

Nanny took a deep breath. “Now don’t be angry at Nanny. It’s not Nanny’s fault. Those soldiers suddenly decided that their exercises were finished. I don’t know how, maybe Nor told them you were gone? She told us; she’d been sneaking around looking for your broom, and she said you weren’t here. So maybe she mentioned it to them. You know how nice they were to her, how they adored her. The soldiers came to the front door and said that they needed to escort the entire family, Sarima and her sisters and Nor and Irji, back to their base camp, wherever it is. They didn’t require me, they said, which was very insulting indeed, and I let them know as much. Sarima asked why, and that nice Commander Cherrystone said that it was for their own protection. In case a fighting battalion comes through, he said, it won’t do to have any members of the ruling family still here, or there might be a bloody incident.”

“Coming through, a battalion? When?” Fae hit the windowsill with her open palm.

“I’m trying to tell you. No time soon, he said; this is just advance planning. They became insistent. Those soldiers scattered the peasants in the village-I don’t think there was any killing, it all seemed quite humane, except for the chains-and only I was left behind, being too old to march down a mountain, and no relation besides. Also, they left Liir, since he was no threat and I think they’d become fond of him. But a few days later Lift disappeared, too. I’m sure he was desperately lonely for them, and he must have followed them to their camp.”

‘And nobody protested?” Shrieked Fae.

“Don’t yell at me. Of course they protested. Well, Sarima fell in a heap, fainting dead away, and liji and Nor looked after her. But the sisters, that mealy-mouthed lot, they barricaded the dining room and set fire to the chapel wing, trying to draw attention, and Three slammed a sharpening stone on the hand of Commander Cherrystone and broke every bone in his wrist, I bet. Five and Six rang the bell, but the shepherds are too far away, and it all happened too fast. Two wrote messages and tried to tie them to the feet of your crows, but they wouldn’t be liberated, they just kept roosting on the windowsills again, useless old things. Four had a great idea about boiling oil, but they couldn’t get the flame high enough. Oh, it was a merry chase here for a day or two, but of course the soldiers won. Men always win.” Nanny said simply. Nanny continued petulantly, “And we all thought they’d ambushed you earlier, to get you out of the way. You’re the only effective one here, everyone knows that. They all think you’re a Witch. The townspeople told me that if you come back you’re to be in touch with the hamlet of Red Windmill down below the dam, you know the one. They seem to think you can rescue their royal family, such as they are. I told them it was misplaced trust, that you wouldn’t be interested, but I promised to give you the message, so there it is.”

Fae strode back and forth. She pulled her hair from its customary knot and shook it out, as if trying to shake away what she was hearing. She ran her fingers through her hair. She turned to Ezekiel. This was Fiyero's wife, his children, Nor, Irji, everyone else. All of this family. And she had let them get kidnapped. She looked like she were a ticking time bomb. At any moment, she was ready to implode in on herself.
