imprisoned

Some weird story that popped into my head for no apparent reason.

My eyes flickered open and I arose gently from the cold, stone floor. My hand groped around my waist aimlessly for my sword. I glanced down at my empty side and stood up quickly. My eyes flashed in the direction of the door. With my heart racing i ran to the exit and tugged on the brass handle. Of course its locked my mind was functioning popperly again; at least my head was clearing.
I went to sit back down in the corner. As I took a seat my eyes glanced around my cell. There was a small cot in the corner. I had second thoughts; it looked worse to sleep on than the floor. my head turned sharply as i heard a lock click...

i stare blankly at the black vlevet sky,
choking back the tears i am longing to cry
the stars and blackness swirling around me
im looking ahead but i cannot see
i hear the ocean roar and the wind that sighs
while a blanket of lies sheilds my eyes
i am running from the future no past
what if there is more to life than death at last?
the destiny that awaits me is short
i am drifting away from the deserted port
i cannot stop get off or run away
all i can do is delay time delay.......
