Probably Lucy. I just worry that since it's opening day, any showing will be impossible for me to get in to see. There's also Hercules playing as well, but I'm a little more interested in Lucy.

to me, Lucy seems a lot like Transcendence: interesting concept, terrible execution

i only saw Transcendence because it was my birthday and i forced my parents to pay but it was such a let down

I haven't seen Transcendence, so I wouldn't know. But that's the thing with films, you can get a lot with the same concept but each film can do it differently. Just look at White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen. And how would you know if it's got terrible execution if it just came out today?

that was my first impression, and as more fleshed out trailers got released, I started to see the same pattern as with Transcendence. they're showing the same seven scenes because everything in between probably isn't up to par

that's just my take on it though. it's not like i've actually seen Lucy, but i don't want to be let down that same way again.

You could always give it a chance still. What ever happened to judging a book by its cover? (Don't you dare pull a Spoony and say that's books, not movies)

I kinda wanna see it just because it's an interesting concept and it's got Scarlett Johansson being a badass.

You should see "Listen to Amaury and Review." It's a really good movie.

I'm on the ball about Lucy. Mostly because it still uses that tired myth that humans only use %10 of the brain, etc., etc. even though modern science tells us otherwise and every time I watch the trailer and I hear that part I just can't suspend my disbelief at it.

So after seeing it, I'll say that it's really something you have to see yourself to judge. It's just one of those films where even if you read a review or hear someone's opinion, they might not have understood everything that went on, or wasn't interested in the idea of the film. When I watched it at the beginning I was thinking "what exactly is going on", but after about 15 minutes or so it became more along the lines of "This is interesting. I'd like to see how this goes."

The film also takes a lot of liberties, mainly because we all know nothing about what we'd be able to do at 100% brain capacity exactly, and there's a lot of science theory in it that either people just thought fit right, or seemed good enough to use, I wouldn't be able to say. I will say the ending was expected, but not exactly what you might expect at the same time.

As I said, it's more of a judge it for yourself film.

This is almost how I feel except not as extreme. Trailers for Lucy make me angry just because of that one thing. Its only redeeming features are that it stars an Avenger(barely) and God(Morgan Freeman).

I might see this movie purely because of Morgan Freeman. And topless Scarlett Johansson.

THAT is the ScarJo film I've been trying to remember! Thanks :>

As for Lucy, my dad is REALLY HYPED for it....dunno why. So I'll probably end up seeing it with him.

Just for home from seeing Lucy myself.

If you can buy into the established science-fantasy of the premise, it's actually a fun film for the first 2/3. Nothing special, but nothing bad.

But that ending. Wow man. I heard one critic describe the ending as "shitting the bed", and now I think he was being too nice. I kinda want people to go see it to see for their own eyes this odd left turn...but damn. Damn.

I did say it was somewhat expected.

Oh, I do love Frank Sinatra!
Now I am curious how the ending goes.
