for all those years that I cost you an ungodly amount of money on school supplies.

I went shopping for the few things I needed today and got everything for under $10.
If I'm paying, I'm buying everything as cheap as possible.

Sidenote: Don't even attempt to go shopping the weekend before kids go back to school. It's absolute chaos.

    I hear ya, Below.

Back when I was at school and my Mam paid for my supplies, I needed the best of the best. I had a Spice Girls lunchbox.

I remember wanting the heavy-duty $9.99 binders every year.

I paid $1.25 for a binder today. Wasn't willing to go any higher.

Everyone knows you buy your school supplies right after the 4th of July. But I haven't had to buy those for years.

I had an Invader Zim lunchbox during my dark and edgy phase that lasted until I graduated college.

I ****ing love school supply shopping. It is my favorite time of the year. And it's not just the shopping aspect, I love arranging it all pretty in my backpack and the lovely feeling of writing in a fresh notebook, of slipping papers into a new folder, of buying enough highlighters to color code what you're highlighting by interest, significance to plot, striking diction/syntax, can you tell I'm an English major, or just a good quote.

I was always poor growing up so I never could afford the nice, high quality items (heavy duty binders, nice pens, etc.). Most of what I got were hand-me-downs from my sisters or cheapo packs of pens that I'd be splitting with my sisters (who prefer black ink whereas I use exclusively blue, so it was very upsetting). I'm definitely budget conscious just out of how I was raised and the fact that I've been paying out of my own pocket for supplies ever since I got a job (so since 10th grade), but I'm really good about hunting for deals and such. I also try to keep whatever I use nice (like folders and pens) so that I can reuse them next semester.

You are messed up in some serious mental way. I say this in the kindest and most sympathetic way I know how.

I have the same heavy-duty, fabric covered binder that I got in grade 4. Mom bought things to last.

Go for the Up & Up brand at Target, it's cheaper than most other things.

Also, I know what you mean by chaos, since pretty much all of last week I was working in the Seasonal area of Target, and even 1 or 2 days after school started people were still coming in droves for supplies, since the teachers gave them their supply list late

Big Lots was my best friend this year. I bought everything I needed for college this year for $60, except for like ten items.. which I ended up having to buy from Walmart for about $90, but whatever. >: I spent $150 compared to the $340 I spent last year? So yeah. I was pretty proud of myself for not spending that much again, but I also opted out of buying a lot of few things. Like, I didn't take my printer to school because I didn't want to spend $40 on ink, lol.

From the sound of it you bought more than be for the same price I got my stuff for. But than again, a lot of art stuff isn't cheap, especially when you buy in bulk packages....although you never quite get past that expensive part XD

This is what my school does. So I dont even know what I need until the best day of school and then I have to rush to the store and I hate shopping as is.

I don't think I've had a supply list since the sixth grade. After that teachers just kind of said "stay organized and take notes, you know what works for you." I don't really use binders for my classes for example, some people swear by them, but I'm happy with a notebook and a folder.

I have to tell me mum not to buy me school supplies. She asked me yesterday if I needed any more notebooks/folders but she awready bought me some the week before...AND SOME AT THE START OF SUMMER. Then there's the extra I have from last year...

Folk don't hide underneath my bed cause there's currently stationary supplies amassing.

You and Demi would be the best of friends, that girl is never not buying some form of stationary.
