You should always be nostalgic for the gamecube. It was one of the most creative consoles of all time. It was the last time where Nintendo truly experimented with their IPs and stayed clever and ahead of the competition idea wise. Just didn't work because no-DVD player.... Dumb world. It was technically superior to the PS2 in every way and had a lot of weird third party support. Also, this video.

Wii U only supports Wii games. He meant early edition Wii's support GC games. Wii U can now support GC controllers though.

    You're right, it's 16:9

Kinda saddened that no one has mentioned RE0 or REmake. They still look gorgeous on that system.

They were re-released on Wii with true 16:9 and GC controller support. I prefer the GC boxes though. Also, I went above and beyond and mentioned PN03[DOUBLEPOST=1401698010][/DOUBLEPOST]Probably my favorite party game:

Made by Shinji Mikami, yo. The while game's about limiting the player- you can't attack and move at the same time, and from that premise it gets AWESOME. You get crazy giant laser beam powers, you can parry lasers- it's awesome.

And yeah, for real. I want them on GC personally, but I'm well aware I'm taking a downgrade.

Not many, certainly not every one. The Wii upscales every GC game to 16:9.

... you realize it's not ACTUALLY 16:9, right?

It forces it that way making it so a lot of streamers need to use a Wii. They have capture cards that only recognize 480p or higher and switching a cable doesn't do it for them, so they need a Wii.

It's just 4:3 footage stretched to fit the screen though, 16:9 implies the game is actually running in widescreen

It implies that the game is going to see the game in 16:9 and capture it in 16:9, whether it's genuine or not. Obviously the games on VC aren't 16:9, but they run smooth and fine on Wii as opposed to on a third and fourth gen console where if you hook it up to an HD TV without a Framemeister, it looks like garbage.

We're not talking about VC though, we're talking about Gamecube. The Gamecube can stretch to fill a wide screen just as well as anything, heck, if you have the right model you can even output in 480p
