I like the feel of the second one better but it looses some of the focus since there is less contrast there. Maybe to could use a layer mask to pull in the right side from the original?

The text looks okay (grain of salt since that is my Achilles-heel) but generally less is more in that department. Maybe you could try cutting the last line and splitting the first for emphasis.

It looks quite nice, especially with the colours and the position of the characters, however it seems to me that the text looks a tad bland but it still works. However, I do agree that the first line of text should be broken down to make it look nicer.
Otherwise it's pretty good.
