Yes I know this is the Spam Zone but I think this should get more views than if I posted it in the Discussion section.

Unless they now want to build more prisons with taxpayer's money to house these felons who sing karaoke and then post it on youtube. Yes, let's put on-line karaoke singers next to murderers and rapists. There's a great plan.

Signed (even though I'm not a U.S. citizen). Jails and arrests are for those who obstruct justice. Not for Karaoke singers and AMV makers.

If you do that more than ten times and were in America, yes.

"Hey kid, what are you in for?"
"I sang "All the single ladies" by Beyonce and put it up on Youtube ten times"

Technically the rapists and murderers go to a maximum security prison, and the other more harmless group of embezzlers and hackers go to a pretty cushy jail where you just waltz around and get some nice amenities in your cell if you behave nicely. But regardless, this is pretty messed up. Plus it'd be awful if I couldn't film myself singing "Don't stop me now" with nothing but a pair of pants and suspenders on.

How can they have the right to do that? What happened to the fair use law? It should counteract this! What's wrong with a little free advertising? Jail is for murders, and people who break law, not amv makers.

Oh SHI- Must sign, I'm too young to go to prison for making AMVs! :why?:

Absolutely ridiculous, someone needs to paint tollfaces on the ringleaders' driveways. Do we not have more important things to worry about than karaoke and boredom??

Good Lord. Attenion- lawmakers- stop your idiocy for just one second.

    This doesn't make sense.

Not a lick. Despite what you think, expressing creativity isn't a crime.
"Whatttt?" you say, slapping your knees in surprise. Well. You've made me angry.
You no liek mee when I angry.

People use music in their videos. It's nice, it's fun. I remember when I was 8 posting videos of Club Penguin to kids music. Please, come to your senses. Or just resign.

If you post a video to Youtube with copyrighted music, any copyrighted music, and ten or more people view said video, you could face jailtime.

I really think it is a case of lawmakers making laws about material they cannot comprehend. Or it is a case of lawmakers taking in money from Hollywood to get Youtube killed.

The internet is where the free-thinkers, the dissidents, gather and spread their ideas among the masses. If this bill is passed, then perhaps Big Brother truly IS watching us and assumes EVERYONE is a criminal. Perhaps the Thought Police are a reality in our politicians.

If that is the case, then I truly am afraid for America's future. What about the real issues? What about the people illegally crossing our borders? What about terrorists? What about corrupt politicians? What about unemployment? What about our massive debt? What about N.Korea and S.Korea potentially being at war with each other? What about our(America's) staggering unpopularity in the World? What about Russia's economic boom(and how they are the biggest opponent of the EU's missile defense plan)? What about the drug cartels in South/Central America who sneak across our Southern Border? How about the fact the US Government can illegally tap into my phone and listen to my conversations with my family under the Patriot Act? How is it that I'm on a No Call List and yet politicians can still leave their recorded messages every election season?

    What about THOSE issues?

Yeah, the United States really seems to be doing as much as possible to avoid the real problems that are crippling us lately. The asinine actions taken with these copyright laws and the way they're hunting down people is simply barbaric. It's hard to imagine that in a place where same-sex marriages are getting more rights and video games are finally being seen as having the same artistic potential as books and films, these politicians continue to show ignorance of not only the items that they're trying to make laws against, but the cultures surrounding them.

It's one thing to protect your Intellectual Property against the many copycats and thieves out there, but how displaced from reality does someone have to be in order to not see the problems with all these laws? It's as if the group of self-entitled puritans that jumped ship and sailed over here haven't changed at all. Hell, we went from disliking russians and calling people out as "commies" to disliking middle-eastern folks and calling out people as terrorists. The worst part is that there would have to be some large changes to fix these problems. Until then we'll still have parents trying to get people jailed for selling their kids M-rated games instead of just watching them; and these film and music studios suing everyone's grandmother that attempts to lip sync to lady gaga.
