Fallout 3 is getting a special edition in some kind of a lunchbox or something. Honestly, I can understand the marketing aspect of creating a different edition, but to me that should mean more game play since that is what we are paying for. Behind the scenes stuff is cool and sometimes interesting but alot of regular games have those as unlockables in game.

But I feel like too many games are getting the special treatment.

I really do wish that the Limited Edition and Special Edition games would stop. It is growing kind of annoying. I will say though at least this is not like Kingdom Hearts games and we can still -get- the game limited edition hopefully instead of it just being for a specific crowd. It is annoying though because LE means only a certain number will be made. I really don't see why in the end they can't just do -one- game for SC 4. Ah well, I will probably buy the game LE any way. I'm not that happy though with SC games any way lately. They really do seem to be becoming more ****astic for lack of a better word. The original games were great but seeing pics of some of the characters who've been in former games that are now updated ... they hardly look the same anymore. I will still get it though because the fights and storyline are worth it.

A lot of people I know (icluding me) get them for the box art. Take ff12 for instance, I got it for that it had a pretty metal case <3. the book too was nice and stuff. I got it for that and the chance of my guide having a character on it...I got Fran....But I did like the art book included[IMG]

But my special disk is all messed up in the music area of it >_>

Any who, it does need to stop....I understand GOOD games...but getting a lunch box?

Thats for kids I'm telling you!

I think only awesome games/extremely anticipated/very popular games should get a limited/ special edition like The Force Unleashed and Assassin's Creed for example (yes AC was disappointing but it had a VERY good story and it had Altair). Soul Calibur...it shouldn't get a LE. It makes the LE/SE feel...not as special or awesome anymore when too many are made. Come on...they should just stop doing that with games that don't deserve it (I'm not saying that Soul Calibur isn't good, it's just that I don't think it deserves it).

I dont see a problem with all the Limited edition games. You arent forced to buy them or anything. If you want extra stuff, then get it. If not, then just buy the regular game.

I suppose one of my biggest gripes about this is when it comes to sports video games. I honestly don't care how many Madden games there are, but does there have to be multiple versions at launch. If it's like the twentieth anniversary of a game being re-released, or an extremely anticipated game then different editions is fine with me as long as there is no gameplay differences.

Soul Caliber i don't believe needs a special edition. Halo 3 got too many editions.

But if a game comes out like StarCraft 2 and it had a special edition, or something along those lines, then i'm all right with it.
