They produce very sharp images which makes them perfect for computing but they have slow response times, poor blacks, crappy viewing angles, etc. which makes them ill-suited for entertainment. And they killed plasmas. :c
Which is why I hope OLED catches on. Their performance is hypothetically similar, but OLEDs currently have issues with color degradation. It won't scratch my retro gaming itch but it's the closest to CRT it looks like we're going to get for a while :'c
I think I'll pass, people practically give 'em away on Craigslist & shipping a CRT can be kinda problematic hah. If you frequently game on PC though I would suggest giving it a go, so long as the convergence et al are okay on it! It depends on the model but overall they are much better for that than LCD screens, and plenty of CRT monitors have high-resolution options that still hold up today.
You can get an IPS with a low response time, just shell out several hundred dollars what could be the problem
