358/2 Days Im confused about what roxas said.

on Day 15 roxas puts an entry into his diary saying
"every day after work i've been meeting axel at the clock tower to have sea-salt ice cream. It really is salty! but still sweet, too how come it tastes so familiar?"

what does he mean it tastes so familiar?

and sora never had any sea-salt ice cream at this point had he?

and im sorry if this has already been asked or im just being a noob asking a question with a simple answer.

 

Hmmm, well Sea Salt ice cream is something that has been seen in two different worlds (Hollow Bastion and Twilight Town). It's quite possible that the process that altered Roxas into looking like Ven effected further then we thought.

Or it could just be Roxas being forgetful again. Numerous times he forgets about things, but it is interesting, I mean Roxas is kind of a clean slate in 358/2 days and only 15 days into his creation he senses a memory that he can't remember.

 

If this was real life, we'd just shrug it off.
But it's a video game, so we overanalyze it lol

So it's either the Ven thing, Roxas being forgetful, or Roxas/Sora probably had it before and we overlooked it.

 

It was actually stated in the game when Roxas was conversing with Axel, in the bubble text boxes, not a cutscene. Axel explicitly says that they ate sea salt ice cream the first time they met and he got his new name, and Roxas goes further to say that he doesn't really remember.

 

Ah thanks makes sense now.

But... watching another cutscene of when they're on the beach in the end of kh2 where xemnas is saying roxas has been with them for 6 days.
he goes on to say "so ,sleep has taken you again"
is he refrencing to birth by sleep ?
maybe ven fell to sleep at one point.
and it could alsl be used as a refrence to the name as birth by sleep

And something else i just spotted Axel said to saix on day 71ish about the traitors at castle oblivion he told him he took out zexion like saix said.

i thaught riku got zexion and axel took vexen out?

 

axel use repliku to kill zexion, after zexion escaped from rikus clutches holding on to his life.... and axel gave repliku a purpose so zexion was his first ginuea pig in using repliku. so basically axel took out zexion

 

Could that also mean that Roxas's memory was affected even when he was born because of Sora?

 

sora has had sea salt ice lollies so he can remember them

 

When? may i ask? he hasnt had one in kh1 or even 2 for that matter

That's sort of official considering Roxas was left with no memory in the first place due to Sora lack of time being a Heartless.

Poor boy has a lot of memory problems.
