    hey ppl i started my laptop this morning and it came up with message after the win xp loading screen and froze:
    -----------
    STOP: c0000269 {illeagal system dll relocation}
    the system dll user32.dll was relocated in memory. the application will not run properly.
    the relocation occurrd because the dll C:\windows\system32\nt.dll occupied an adress range reserved for windows system dlls. the vendor supplying the dll should %s %s
    ------------

    what should i do, i have tried debugging mode and safe mode but the same thing happens, also i dont have the disc for win xp for the laptop will my desktop cd work to reinstall windows. ty in advance

    From what I know about these problems, you probably installed a Windows Update without knowing that wasn't compatible with your system, or you installed a program that caused a conflict with another program already using that DLL file. I've heard this happens with antivirus software such as AVG Free and F-Secure. Any of this ring a bell?

    The only advice I can give you is to use the System Restore feature in the System Tools section of the Start Menu. You can restore to a few days ago and that should fix the problem, as long as you don't have any major files you've created in the last 2 or 3 days that you can't delete. If that's the case, you should save them to a disk or a partition of your harddrive, because there is no solid fix for this problem. You need to restore Windows to a previous date or reformat Windows entirely. Hope this helps.
