Imagine this. You've been offered phenomenal cosmic powers (no, not Disney-wise) and the opportunity to become one of the greatest heroes/heroines of all time. However, the cost of that would be to discard your entire existence. That means for ultimate power, everything you've done up to that point in time would never have happened. You'd never have been born. Your family and friends wouldn't know who you were, but you'd still have all your memories intact.

So, would you take the offer and forsake your existence for the ability to make huge differences? Or would you decline the offer and keep your life and timeline intact?

I would use my cosmic power to eat planets and make heralds to go ahead and search out more planets. Then I'd implode. Awesome right?

No, I would decline the offer. I like life and the fact that I exist. I'm sure SOMEONE's life would be at least a little different it I weren't around.

This is an interesting question, but i'm not too sure that I can say one or the other. If I said yes, then the person who I am would cease to exist and i'd become a shell of what I could have been. Granted, the ability to be a hero would mean I would be becoming a new age Robin Hood, but to what ends would it end?

Save one catastrophy, you open up a will do defeat you, which could lead you down a pass similar to Spidey and the Daily Bugle. But the ability to influence events, seems somewhat from a higher level, you could influence the next generation.

It's an interesting notion, but right now...i'd have to say No. I am who I am because of my past.

Right now I would say no because I can really think it over. But if I was suddenly given that option, I would probably say yes impulsively and regret the choice later.

Actually, I based this entire question on the origin of Marvel Comics' Dr. Stephen Strange. In order to become the Sorceror Supreme, he had to forsake his timeline. That means he was never there for his family or his wife because he never existed.

    Interesting topic.

I'd say no. Yes, all I really want to do is make a difference, but as a person, not... I don't know... Change the world? Does that make sense? Probably not.

What I'm saying is that I'd rather make a difference as a person then nothing at all.

If I had a happy life, I can choose either way: To have ultimate power and feels what its like to be all mighty. Since I had a happy life, I have no regrets. Or, I can choose to continue my happy life and to hell with you ultimate power, my life is too fun to die off just yet.

If I had a bad life, there is also two ways I can choose from. I can have ultimate power AND a new life, the life I wanted. The happy life. I have ultimate power after all, shaping a new life of my own ain't gonna be hard.

Or I could keep my bad life going on, which could be due to many reasons: Guilt (Which means, you brought this on yourself), lack of confidence, or simply as a deep reminder that as nothing good goes on forever, so as the bad. You would want to use your own hands to shape your life instead of relying on ultimate powers to do so.

To have it, or not? It's only a matter of choice. Only when you truly had the chance to do so, you'll have the answer. We won't know it now, cause we're not going to have it anyway.

However DF should obtain ultimate power so he can update for us with the speed of lightning! (If you have ultimate power, surely you can replace your existence back to the world around you, cause... you are god!)

You forget, if this happened realistically, there would still be someone with more power than you. The one who gave it to you in the first place.

And if I accepted the offer, then all the chapters that I've written would never have existed and I'd have to start from scratch. (Not to mention would I ever find the time to do it if I wielded power like that?)

As for me personally, I wouldn't take the offer. As sucky as my life seems, I'm pretty content with it at the moment. I'm already making a difference just by existing and writing. If I didn't have anything to strive for, then it'd be a pretty meaningless existence. So, I'd forsake the prize for the quest. After all, one who finally achieves his ultimate goal has no other reason to exist, right?

    What an interesting thought.

I don't know, really. I mean, i haven't been exactly happy with my life lately, but i don't think i'd give it up just to help out everyone else. I'm far too selfish.

Thats an interesting question. Its really one to think about.

Anyways,it depends in a way.If you said yes then you could change the world to something much better than it is now.But the fact losing your friends and family sounds a bit sad.You would see your friends but if you would want to say hi they would think you're weird because they don't know who you are.

But if you choose to say no then your life will continue as it is.With your friends and family.Even if you have a sucky life you will still be happy deep down inside because you are around the people that love you and will miss you if you would leave.

So to answer the question I say no.I wouldn't accept the powers.Even if I don't have the greatest life I still will be happy.I like to be around they people I love and make me happy.

If it meant being a god, sure. Bonds could always be reformed. They might not be the same but they could still exist anew. After all I would have cosmic power, so not much would be out of my grasp.

For some reason, this sounds a lot like Roxas's intentions...<_<

    Back on topic:
I'd definately choose the powers. In my current life, I don't really care about whatever I've done. Besides, with all the power I have, I could probably make up for whatever I've lost so... =/
