If you travel too far into the future, you might end up in the past.

    What do you think of this theory:

    The whole Time/Space Continuum is a loop. For example: A person from this time around time travels way past the end of the universe and ends up in 1865 the next time around.

    Um...Wow...strange.
    I doubt that's true but I guess there's no way of debating this either way since we barely know anything about time.

    I don't get it. How can you end up in the past?

    What he means is, everything has a loop to it, like life and all, so billeions of years from now time my stop then go back to when it started, meaning everything we've done would have never have happened, but the next time around we may not do the same things as we did in this time line

    Kind confusing but i think i get it know.

  6. wow that's a good theory. And, it is supported by the theory wherein the universe grows, caves in, then, starts again.

    Time is infanity. Dont believe me, try telling when time began(you can't). If there can be infinity in math it must hold true to time.

    I don't think thats true, unless everyone died, life was re-created and people start time over again.

    We don't know enough about time and space enough to make these conclusions, expecially yours John S.

    The end of the universe is the end of the universe.

    It's not like aliens destroy Earth and suddenly Jesus is born again.

    not everything has a loop, so if you went to far forward in time ud end up in space with no air and the earth would have been destroied

    Is'nt time like the universe... endless? I mean isn't the universe always expanding? So i doubt you could end up in the past. Unless you built a time-machine. :p

    Time is not a loop, it's linear. It's gotta be infinite.

    Time does not go in a loop. It's explained here:

    Edited by me: I want to be friends with ZOTT.

    Nice.

    Time just keeps going, nothing ever repeats itself.

    If you waited long enough without going into the future (impossible to do, stop obsessing about it people), it's not like Hitler is going to be reborn and do the whole holocaust thing again.

    PAST<------------->PRESENT<------------>FUTURE

    NOT

    PAST<------------->PRESENT<------------->FUTURE<------->PAST etc etc.

    He's right. Things that are straight forward can not loop.

    Lmao, good luck with that??

    Cause and effect chains have the capacity to be finite or infinite, not circular. They can extend as far into the present or future but never touch. Time travel doesn't reshape the fabric of reality or the universe so as to produce something as profound as changing the last effect into the first cause. It simply enables you to go as far as the first or last event of the cause/effect chain (providing that the cause/effect chain isn't infinite). In a sense you're just standing outside of time's natural course and traveling in it, you're not manipulating it in anyway. Any changes to the cause and effect chain that resides in the space-time continuum affect history (if such a thing is possible) not time itself.
