I don't know about you guys, but i don't blame the police for getting upset.

I mean, what if something like this had actually happened and it did turn out to be explosives? If the police just sat and do nothing, they'd look pretty stupid when people started dying. They were doing their jobs. So yes they looked stupid because it was a hoax, but they would have looked a LOT worse if it wasn't.

Besides, it's not just their fault. Turner entertainment handled the situation badly, too. they could have at least told the police what they were doing before they pulled it off.

Yes, the co-ordination of the advertisment should of been better handled, to a certain degree you can see why people thought it was a bomb from a distance, and in such a situation you don't think about it slowly and say, "well this isn't the best place to place or bomb" you tend to panic.

And since 9/11 the world is far more shaky, terrorist attacks are a much greater risk, like just today there was a letter bomb that exploded in London.

That's ******ed. I heard about this too on the news. And I must say, people these days are mother****ing stupid. Come on! It's a damn neon sign! You can't do anything in this world anymore! Inignokt and Err are awesome! But no, people are all "I thought it was a bomb!" Yeah, because that's how it ALWAYS happens!
The soldiers in Iraq are always like, "Watch out for neon signs!!! Especially ones with cartoon characters that are blocky and pixelated!!!!!!" Yeah... We've got someREALLY rational people in the USA...

well, lets look at another aspect of this:

that thing doesnt look like a bomb at all, but i think the point here is how out of hand the situation got. its sad to think that people can be so scared in our world today that they would see a bomb in a small cartoon character. its kinda like this double-image picture i once saw. if you show it to a child they see dolphins, but if you show it to adults they see a man and a woman having sex. the point is, out of all the things that people could have mistaken that cartoon guy for, they thought it was a bomb because they have been so exposed to propaganda about the dangers of terrorism in our modern society.

i know someone here mentioned that they did not blame the police because it really could have been some bomb attack. well, sure, but isnt this fact terrible? that we would even think that some crazy guy or terrorist would place bomb threats all over a town. that says a lot about our society and how we've been made to think.

I understand what you're saying, but why would a terrorist TELL people that they were gonna bomb something? Wouldn't they want less people to know about it?

I can't believe people thought it was a bomb. It DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE A BOMB!!!!!!! I didn't hear about it on the news, and I'm glad I didn't, such a stupid subject to be on the news when all it was advertising for was Aqua Team Hunger Force movie. People are becoming very paranoid.
