I think that people are sometimes more themselves on site like this than in real life I know so many phonies at my school, that could potentially be cool people on the inside, but as long as they are phonies on the outside I will feel the same way as Holden (disliking phonies). Although, there are also a lot of phonies online, who just insult stuff to go with the flow rather than actually disliking it.

 

Or creepy guys who pretend they are girls. They are more themselves in person than online

And you'd be surprised if you met me. I'm a lot different in real life than I am online. I'm more nervous in real life.

 

I know I act a LOT different than I do online than IRL. I think people are like that because they might be embarrassed of how they really are, but online, no one will know because no one actually knows you.

Sara i'm the same, when i first met someone i'm quiet and shy, but as i get to know them and they get to know me i'm more out going and like I am online, online i'm much more open because i feel more confident.

As for meeting people from forums and seeing them in real life would be awkward, though we all know each other well it would be weird talking to them in real life, i've known one of them for about a year and a half now. Heck I know them as well as I do my real life friends. Maybe one day I will met up with them maybe when i'm in uni, I could be going to a Uni near were one of them lives.

This is odd, but my dad works at the same place as one of my online friends, I thought that was freaky, when we found out. O_O
