Maybe, since they were meddling with the darkness, it took a longer amount of time to lose their hearts, so they aged in that time?

If you recall in one of the Ansem Reports it states Ienzo convinced Ansem the wise to build the lab. But I also recall saying that Ansem the wise feared what his research started and sealed away their test subjects. what is that seal takes place in BBS?. That would explain why Ienzo is so young in that scan, simply because we don't know how long that was sealed. the time it took to banish ATW could have been the years it took for Ienzo to reach the age of Zexion. As we know it was their research that cost them their hearts, but where is it stated they fell to deep into the darkness and lost their hearts?. I think it was the heartless they created that took their hearts. Anyway the gist is how long was their research sealed away? Maybe long enough for the young Ienzo to reach Zexion's age.

 

It cant, Xehanort hasn't joined Ansem yet. He joins after bbs.

Nope, the apprentices of Ansem walked into the door to the heart of hollow bastion. The Ansem reports in both KH1 and KH2, and cutscenes in KH2 Final mix confirms this. They willingly walked into the door and became pureblood heartless.

 

Actually I recall only reading that Xehanort went through the door, because if the others did too that would mean they gave up their hearts willingly.And as KH1 shows those who willingly give up their hearts retain their free will as a heartless, so if the other org members gave up theirs willingly they would still exist as heartless.

 

Well, we haven't seen them, now have we? Maybe they'll turn up in KHIII.

 

Nope, they all went through the door together. The KH2 Ansem Reports and cut scenes from KH2 Final mix+ with discussion between the founding members of the organization, agree that they all went together.

Not necessarily, they did give themselves to darkness willingly. But it's been confirmed they were normal heartless, not special ones like Xehanort's. Some other factor much have given Sora or Xehanort control of their heartless. The keyblade? Their Strong hearts?

They could still be heartless or already defeated by the keyblade by the end of KH2. Their fate is unknown

Well if we look at what we know about BBS' story Xehanort likely is born at the end of BBS. The fight between MX and TAV is going to be near the end of the game and is likely where Xehanort comes from. Someone from this fight will likely become Xehanort. Plus Xigbar himself has said that after the people with keys vanish Xehanort appeared. Xehanort seems like the main reason for BBS, as he will return in KH3.

 

Ienzo looks so young. I think the picture is deceiving though especially with the flash there. It could of very well been a flashback. Not really sure though. Zexion looks older than his somebody. Maybe the darkness ages them until they become nobodies. Or Ienzo experimented on himself and something went wrong.
