The negative space is really distracting.

 

I was thinking that as well. I might just crop it and make it smaller.

 

It'd be better suited as an avatar.

The avatar is better. A few more effects wouldn't hurt.

 

Signature: Add more effects to fill the neg space.

Avatar:One or two effects wouldn´t kill you.

 

I'll admit I like the old paper texture thing going on, it could become something nice if it wasn't too empty on the left. You could add your favourite quote there, for example. It's pretty nice, but could have more as a signature.
