This has bugged at me for a while I know me complaining and wanting won't make it happen but still..I mean instead of putting money into **** like Budokai HD remake (okay that's not **** but non of us really wanted the original budokai series to be remastered anyways) I was actually contemplating on buying a wii for the wii version until I learnt that (According to my friend) the wii WFC or w/e online the Wii uses is gonna permanently shut down so whats the point in buying it? the wii version was sort of a remaster but I think it'd be better if they made a trilogy for budokai tenkaichi series for ps3 and make it online compatible. I mean really, if you're a Dragon ball fan and you've played Ultimate tenkaichi & Battle of z you'll know what I mean by wasting money on utter bullcrap. I wouldn't actually be so hung up with tenkaichi 3 IF raging blast 2 had done well at first glance it looked good to be honest it had a style simmilar to tenkaichi 3 and it had good soundtrack (until they had to change the audio for the later copies because of the yamamoto scandal) but if you've played it it's really lack luster and doesn't have much to offer not as fun to play as BT3. [/RANT]
RIght on dude. Best DBZ game ever. I felt like Budokai was just a regular righting game with DBZ skins.
I know right? I myself have never had that much of a liking to the original budokai series mostly because the whole thing bases around the right combo's transforming, fusion, even using kamehameha though I think that around the time there wasn't really a fighter that had full 3D destructible environment I give them credit the original's were still entertaining but the tenkaichi series has been praised so much in comparison it's hard to believe they've done a budokai collection yet not even considered a tenkaichi collection it saddens me :C
why cant you play the original? i still play it occasionally the only reason I could see making a remaster is if you added more characters and such, but at that point just make a new DBZ game in the same vein as BT3 that doesn't suck. That's what I've wanted all this time. but yes BT3 is the best DBZ game and I feel confident in saying this having not played any on Ps3 or w/e. mainly because i hear most are garbage Budokai was a fun series but did not effectively emulate DBZ-scale action. same with Infinite World also REALLY WISH I had not sold my original copy. that game is ****ing expensive now and it sucks playing from a burned copy knowing I used to have it complete from when it came out.
I have been thats the reason I'm ranting now, I'm still playing it now and plan to do the ultimate battle 100 battles mode and then dragon sim but the main thing I would love is to play online with it, on the wii version you could but apparently they're gonna cut off WFC or w/e good thing my friend told me as well cause I was gonna go out and buy a wii since they're cheap and buy dbz BT3 but the only thing i'd get was the upscaled graphics. Infinite world was basically budokai with a side bar of minigames mainly running through rings I believe though i'll be honest the snakeway minigame caught my attention but all in all eh. I've been holding out hope for a while for something that would make me feel the same way DBZ BT3 made me feel, raging blast 2 had the right idea but only mechanics wise, it didn't have the thought put in for additional modes or anything at all to have replay value just a long ass mode which makes you play through all the characters iconic battles. Don't get me started on battle of z also what other characters would you add in? budokai tenkaichi 3 more or less had all the warrior/fighting characters shown through the whole series the only one they're missing would be bills of course and that's obvious as to why. out of most of the games I've played tenkaichi at base is the most balanced fighter atleast 3d environment and movement fighter, storm is good but it's all luck it'd be good to have tenkaichi 3 on ps3 with online mode.
Wait wait DBZ Budokai 3 was and probably is still the best game out of any of the games made for the consoles. I've played them all and don't see how you like anything past B3 Tenkaichi 1,2,3 and Ultimate are awful they shouldn't have ever been made. Raging Blast 1,2 trash Burst Limit Awful Infinite World enjoyed Sagas I'm still iffy on it, but enjoyed it more then Tenkaichi, Burst Limit, and Raging Blast The games before Budokai 1 came out I think I played 2 of them and would rather play those than any Tenkaichi, Raging Blast, and Burst Limit. I just can't see how anyone thinks of the games amazing and such a blast to play they really aren't.
WOAH WOAH WOAH HOLD UP I like Budokai Tenkaichi, sure, they're good games, pretty fun and more akin to DBZ in terms of flight and using projectiles to fight. But I'll gladly be the guy who says that Budokai 3 is the best DBZ game ever made. Not only does it work as a DBZ game, but as a fighting game too, so you don't have to exactly be a fan of the series to still enjoy the game. Can't really say the same for Budokai Tenkaichi. The 3D movement is pretty flawed honestly, and the melee combat...yeah, not much to talk about there. I'm not saying Budokai 3 was the most technical fighting game ever (whoever would say that is delusional,) but I at least didn't feel like every character was more or less way too similar. I'll gladly take a smaller roster if it means having more unique fighting styles between the included characters, which I feel that Budokai 3 does competently (not perfectly, but enough.) I can feel the difference playing, say, Kid Buu versus playing Cell in that game, and I like playing as them for different reasons that extend beyond aesthetics. Plus, tournaments with friends in that game...so fun :> Sure, Budokai Tenkaichi may look more like Dragon Ball Z, but I genuinely could enjoy Budokai 3 simply for what gameplay it had. I really was disappointed that we never have gotten a true sequel to the Budokai series since Infinite World, which was just Budokai 3 with shite mini-games and extras that weren't worth the money/effort. Still, I will say that I hope the Budokai Tenkaichi series gets remastered like Budokai 2 and 3 did. They're good games, as I've said, but I simply think that Budokai is, over all, better. Now, if we got a game that successfully combined the best parts of both series...mmmmmmmmmm.
I can understand completely where you're coming from even though I didn't play budokai 3 for long, but the one thing I've loved about the budokai tenkaichi series is that it has a huge replay value for me, budokai gave me something along the same lines but not as much. As for your last point honestly, they've made a lot of decisions that haven't worked in their favour especially with ultimate tenkaichi being a flop and their most recent game battle of z which has flopped as well the only good one out of the recent games they've released they do have a new project in the works though we've only got 4-5 screenshots I hope it atleast differs from all the stuff they've put out recently, I can only hope.
