well school's being a pain in the ass, but i'm p sure it's supposed to be like that haha! i'm also doing track now for my regional school, which makes me happy because i get to see some of my friends from middle school that i don't really see. overall, i think i'm doing p good! how about you?

My entire school is full of people who like to party, but somehow most of them get their work done. I met a guy who gets drunk basically all the time and even told a guy to punch him in the face. He's also aerospace, has a full scholarship and a GPA of 3.7. He's also really good at piano. While I don't like him much while he's drunk, he's pretty damn cool while sober.

BioE and biomech systems in general aren't really my focus but I do like the idea of Deus Ex type shit happening. There's a lot of good that can be done in improving prosthetics and researching various implants. I know a guy whose focus is that stuff. Though, I'm taking a bio-inspired robotics class this fall, and I'm really looking forward to it.

David Tennant is my favorite Doctor and one of my favorite people ever. Just. God damn, he's talented. And not for nothing, but he's pretty darned attractive. Matt Smith is great too, but I can't help but like Tennant a bit more still.

That guy right there is the kind of partier I respect. Some people have ugly drunk sides, but it's good that you can bro around with him when he's sober. It's funny how college is really a weird hybrid of both big stereotypes of it. Parties abound, and study time out the wazoo.

Prosthetics has always interested me. Making limbs that can be artificially innervated is mind-blowing. Bio-inspired robotics though, damn. Is that, like, designing robots that mimic living systems or something?

eh i'm not very good at it hehe, but yeah it's fun anyway! and it sucks that you don't have much time for it! what did you run?

 

Pretty much. We see something that some animal does and we go like, "How can I make a robot do that?" Kinda like a small scale version of PETMAN or Big Dog. It's because biology frequently gets it right because it's had billions of years and survival has been the tester. But yeah, people have been working more and more on that recently.

 

Oho, so we have that much in common. Good.

I actually haven't taken any formal classes in programming yet, but I do have some experience with Q-Basic from when I was 11-ish. I'm sure I can transfer the skills fairly easily with whatever language I decide on.

Heck yeah! I was a sprinter, but I was awful ahah. My friend and I were the only two sprinters on the team and we were both super out of shape. Our team didn't do too well at meets, needless to say. What do you run?

Well, I don't exactly fancy myself a programmer, but from what I've gathered, programming languages have a lot of similar fundamental logic. So I'm sure at least a little of your prior experience will be of some help in learning new languages. Also, semicolons.

Nothing really, because I'm too much of a bum to get a real job, I'm going back to the on campus microrobotics lab that I worked at the summer of my freshmen year. This time I'm likely to be doing more than taking data for someone else's project though.
