I understand yet I don't

I understand how you feel
But I know nothing of your pain
I want to tell you it's going to be alright
But I know nothing of your fear
I want to hold out my hand to help you out
But I know you may never take it
Knowing that I can some how know your pain
But still not understand
Always remember I am here for you
Even if you never want to talk about your pain.

One of my friends from college is having a bad time and doesn't want to talk about it so in away I understand how he feels but then again I don't.

 

Nice poem sis! It's tough when you want to help but can't. You are always there when he wants to talk though.

 

I told him that, but I have to wait for him to open up.

 

I know the feeling well, I always want to help people but can never seem to think of the right thing to do because I can't understand the position they are in.
