I still believe some folk should NEVER cosplay

Because they don't fit some cookie-cutter image of what society deems as acceptable? I am sure if you saw some super model-esque woman dressed as Misty, you'd have a different opinion on the matter. There is such a concept as body shaming. It is called thin privilege to think that only the skinny can dress in a certain way. We do not know the people in these pictures. We do not know their circumstances.

And if this is about cosplayers being 'unnatural' then consider that this is their hobby. Something they do for fun in the same vein as people who collect coins or stamps. They spend money on the materials and a lot of them do their own sewing. And those who cannot will pay others to do so for them. A lot of them, after the conventions are over, will often sell their costumes to others.

 

i get really grossed out when skinny people show their bodies off. like, they are so selfish for being all "hey, society made it so that skinny people are the only ones who can walk around in whatever the **** they want."

but either way, if that guy wants to be a ******, he can be. people can choose to look at him or not, but i'm pretty certain he has a right to wear what he wants, and if he wants to go into jewish territory with it on, then that is just the topping on the cake!

If he does whatever he wants then at that point he has no right to ***** about people acting a certain way to him when he has given nobody a reason to act any other way.
Also "don't look at him" is a stupid suggestion as sight is a sense and telling someone not to look at something that isn't being obstructed is awkward and puts unnecessary strain on the body.

I never said ANYTHING was wrong with being selfish, but just don't act selfish and then tell people to accept your selfishness let alone expect them to accept it because for the most part that kinda **** pisses people off.
They're to do and act any way they want just as we are.

Why is everyone making a fuss about these people, and large cosplayers in general?

Let them do them and have their fun, while you do you. Simple as that.​

And why does that matter? They're game characters for goodness sake! Who cares how they're represented by these people?

Besides, yhy can't they just do what they enjoy? They're not hurting anyone! They're just trying to do something they like to do.​

 

They can do whatever they want, they can have fun, feel good, and good for them, but it's still not a pretty sight. It's still disgusting and ridiculous.

 

Because to some people, video game characters who have impacted their life in some positive way are more important then random people they don't know let alone care about.
And once again most people are just saying it would be pretty cool if these people stopped, we're not gonna go to their house and force them to not dress up as Rider.

Fat people can cosplay well, but it is harder and the results are disastrous if you get it wrong. Here's one that doesn't look that bad to me

Unfortunately it's hard to find pics of good fat cosplays since most of what comes to the top is the bad ones. Though I will admit that the best cosplays are when you look somewhat like the character to begin with, and most people in animes aren't fat.
