I started playing LoL

And I can already tell what my experience with this game is going to be. I'm going to play it really hard for a month or so, and then I'm going to get sick of it and never touch it again. It's really fun, but it's really repetitive, and that can only hold my interest for so long. And I also hate games that essentially require micro-transactions to unlock anything and make playing the game to unlock a character stupidly hard coughcough evergy game on the appstore cough. Kinda tempted to pay $5 once or twice since it is free to play and I do like it enough to spend a little money on it, but not that much.

And I've already been banned for a day and it's entirely not my fault.

He's one of the ones that I want to buy, but at the rate I'm going I can't imagine ever being able to afford them. I get like 100 ip per match and they cost like thousands. Maybe that means I suck or something I don't know.

 

I can't stand real time strategy games. I tried LoL and DOTA and neither did any good at making me appreciate the genre. I hate repetition but it's not even that that makes me hate the games, it's the fact that there was no story or plot worth playing for. It was basically battle and win as the only objectives which I personally am not fond of. That is to say that there were more factors -repetition being one of them- that played into my distaste for the genre but I detest any type of entertainment without some kind of plot -apart from comedy that is- to pull me in. Actually I like games that require strategy -such as chess and the like- it's just this type of game I can't stand to play.

I only ever played it when a friend was on, otherwise I didn't touch it. I managed to play enough to get characters, and I even payed for a foxfire ahri-which is still awesome, even if I don't play anymore-and it does get old incredibly fast. Nothing ever really changes about it.

I really don't agree with this mindset. Theres a place in this world for both Star Wars and Star Trek. Not everything has to be the same thing, some things can just be fun and theres nothing wrong with that, while others can be serious and thought-provoking. But whatever, you have your opinions and I have mine. And I love strategy games.

This is my first online game so for what it is I can enjoy it for a change because it's quite the experience. But I don't plan to make this a regular thing, I still prefer offline single player.

Learn how to play more than one role. I can play every role pretty well, and each one plays quite differently from the other, as well as each champion having at least a slightly different feel, some feeling REALLY different. While you might be a glass cannon as Katarina who can wreck teams but can't take a hit, you can be a behemoth crowd-controller as Cho'Gath who eats up foes with little HP remaining. Hell, Thresh who's usually played as a tanky support, can even be a competent AD Melee champ. I tried it yesterday and it wasn't bad, though you also need to consider team composition.

While I do wish League just allowed every character to be open like in DOTA 2, the free week rotation system will allow you to try focusing on a few characters at a time, which is what I personally needed when I began playing. Get used to a champion you like to play as, and buy some of the cheaper champs with IP, so that you have at least one champion for each role.

Yup, though expect him to be banned if you ever play Ranked.

You do realize I'm going to have to google like every word in here, right? I just started playing yesterday. I just go around shooting things with arrows which is fun. Ashe is my favorite right now, I'm going to try more once I get good enough at the game where I can appreciate the differences.

 

Bit of an exaggeration, but I'll explain all the same.

AD Carry = Ashe's role, with a focus on high Attack Damage, high Attack Speed, and high Critical Strike Chance (though most also build Life Steal to sustain themselves.) Usually they're Ranged, in order to hit enemies from a safer distance, since they're fairly easy to kill.
Glass Cannon = not an actual role, but a term for champions with very high Attack Damage or Ability Power (usually mixed with Armor Penetration or Magic Penetration,) but low Health, Armor, and/or Magic Resistance.
Crowd Control = commonly shortened to "CC," basically anything that affects a champion's stats: Silences, Stuns, Slows, Blinds, Charm, Fears, etc. Very important for reducing the enemy team's chances of winning fights.
AD Melee = a vague term for roles that focus on roughly the same things as an AD Carry, but for close-ranged combat. Usually they also build more Health/Armor/Magic Resistance, as they're prone to being hit more often.

While I think LoL is a great fun game, I'm a Dota 2 player.
Both can become really repetitive, but it helps a lot if you have friends to play. Soloqueuing sucks, especially if you get teamed up with rude-ass people.
I don't even mind "average" players as long as they're nice. I'd end up just giving them tips for next time and whatnot, but goddamn some people really make me want to ragequit.

 

Them feels ... I know them. It's amazing how it's your fault that they were killed because you couldn't blah blah blah, or it was your fault we lost because blah blah blah. I'll occasionally throw online matches in CoD because I know it'll tick off the jerks on my team. I don't ragequit, I force ragequit on the haters >:3
