I saw Star last night myself. The fact that the tornadoes are travelling all the way here must be some sort of Global Warming sign.

Or so it was thought, but I discovered that particles can leak out of a black hole. The reason is, that on a very small scale, things are a bit fuzzy. This is summed up in the uncertainty relation, discovered by Werner Heisenberg in 1923, which says that the more precisely you know the position of a particle, the less precisely you can know its speed, and vice versa. This means that if a particle is in a small black hole, you know its position fairly accurately. Its speed therefore will be rather uncertain, and can be more than the peed of light, which would allow the particle to escape from the black hole.

Nothing that falls into a black hole can come back out again -- at least not in its original form. But a black hole may lose some of its mass. Quantum theory says that "virtual pairs" of particles sometimes wink into existence from the fabric of space itself. These particles quickly cancel each other out and vanish. But if a pair of particles appear just outside a black hole's horizon, one may fall inside, never to make it outside again. If the one on the outside doesn't fall through the horizon, then the particles can't cancel each other out. In essence, that "steals" a little bit of mass from a black hole. Over countless billions of billions of billions of years, the mass loss could become substantial enough to cause the black hole to vaporize. Material would come out, but not in its original form -- only as energy and subatomic particles. This energy is known as Hawking radiation in honor of Stephen Hawking, the physicist who first described it.

It hasn't been proven wrong. Virtual particles can exceed the speed of light. Virtual particles have mass. Because of this, black holes will slowly lose mass. Probability and Quantum Mechanics conquer your puny classical mechanics. Also, the universe expands at faster than light speeds but that doesn't really matter since space is massless.

And this is why I hate science at times.

Enjoy the stars, not because they are some how aesthetically pleasing because of some brightness or shape or position to the Earth. Reasoning it is wrong.

Simply enjoy the stars.
